How about this, Ruben spoke up to Greggo and his henchmen about the crappy job they were doing and he paid the ultimate price? That was far more the reality than him quitting on the team. Ruben was one of the few that cared and had the internal fortitude to speak out about it. If I recall, he also refrained from going public. Ruben was a class act and a great player for a team of far less quality than he. Ruben, congrats and thanks.

Can we give Trent a Haircut like Tebow's new one?

Bib, whom I only knew a bit thru TBD, seemed to be one heck of a guy. Those that knew him better can speak more clearly, but he was a classic case of a man who died of a broken heart after losing to death, his best friend, his love, his life. Rest in peace BiB.

Bob, old bastard you are not. Are missed around here, yes you are.
-
You appear far too rational, posts too well thought out, and far too well written. Shame on you....
-
You have completely missed the point. Again, it's about civility. Having opposing views these days seems to allow for personal attacks, etc., rather than simply stating one's opposing view without rancor or being of an abusive nature. Lori provided much to many around here. Many that appreciated her efforts, and looked forward to her posts and repartee. Lori will be missed by many here, if not most. Tim Graham was abused by the very same spineless coward referred to above. Using the internet do launch these attacks and abuses is simply spineless and cowardly. I guess these days being a spineless coward with a keyboard is acceptable. Sad days, sad days indeed.

They were still recognizable to their mothers. Is this what you meant?

Do you think Nix would like to beat the Redskins?
Spiderweb replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Willie Parker? Are you referring to the guy who went from almost 1500 yards rushing in 2006 to 389 yards last year? With Portis on the decline, a declining Willie Parker, and the declining Larry Johnson. All great backs who have seen their better days. Only Portis has a real shot (if he can stay heathy) of being a a big contributor. Willie Parker is the least of their three veteran RB's. -
.....and the defense rests. This is precisely what is being debated. Civility for one. It's not only about how one responds, but also about how one initiates a topic/thread. The internet allows one to be anonymous, and that is far too often used to be an idiot. It also allows otherwise spineless people to bully and berate without the fear of behaving as such in the physical presence of those being attacked. Lori was not without wit or humor. She understood a bit of sarcasm and accepted it as well, so long as it wasn't malicious. Lori will be missed as she brought a wealth of information to this board that most only think they have. there are those that contribute and those that pollute. Lori was a top contributor here. She will be missed. As for the Tim Graham debacle, those that drove him away should be ashamed, and yet they are likely the same spineless individuals who become Mr. Hyde when they possess a keyboard. This is a sad thing too as having Tim Graham contribute here was a great thing, ruined by a few bad apples.

Go To Camp and see for Yourself,Edwards is WAY BETTER!
Spiderweb replied to Driffill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This thread is somewhat curious as reports have come out saying on some days, Trent looks good, but other where he's been outperformed by Brohm, and even Fitz. This has been the pattern beginning with the OTA's. -
Where I seem to be most concerned is with the LB's. It seems we have a group of somewhat fragile guys of late. Poz, Mitchell, Ellison, etc. I cringe at a repeat of last year when Scott had to come down and play LB.......

No one has ever questioned his being a good "soldier". It has been his production. We witnessed him stonewalled at the line of scrimmage on pass rushes too many times, and when he's not stonewalled at the line, he's driven 10 yards past the opposing QB. Then there's the run plays where he takes a wide pass rush only to have the opposing RB's cut in off tackle where he rushed away from. Maybe it was the schemes, but dag, if I had a nickle every time I seen the above, I'd be a rich man.

What if Trent becomes an above average QB???
Spiderweb replied to sharper802's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Decent would be nice, but decent won't be enough. Gailey may be able to make our QB position somewhat more effective than they have been in the past, but while I do have hopes for much of the team, the QB position is still the Bills biggest worry (then O-line). -
Chris Carter vs. Andre Reed
Spiderweb replied to Logical Reasoning's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Here, here! Very few receivers ever came close to Andre's ability to run after the catch. 951 catches as well. Carter had 1101 catches so clearly he was no slouch, but Buffalo was never as pass happy as Minny was was back in the day and Andre and Kelly had their spats and for whatever reason, Kelly ignored him at times. I'll never forget Carter's last year when he signed after the season started to play for Miami. He looked axtremely old, slow, and I do recall "Mr. Hands" dropping a few balls as well. I actually enjoyed his failure with Miami as he's an egotistical athlete short on intelligence. Carter was great, but so was Andre. Trouble with Andre is that he made it look so easy, those that followed the Bills back then often took Andre for granted. After recently watching some highlight videos of him, I came away in awe of what he could do. Andre deserves HOF every bit as much, if not more so than Carter. Hossage clearly missed it. -
Buddy's first BIG mistakeS
Spiderweb replied to John Cocktosten's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You're right. We have to wait till the end of 2010 to say what many have been saying all along. Maybin is a punk and a piss poor player. -
Couldn't agree more. Rex Ryan's loose mouth is going to cost him big someday. If his "stars" don't perform this year and the Jets don't become "God of the East", he may find himself out of work sooner than later.
-
.....and so would I. Let Schobel rot. If he only had kept his mouth shut and his "retirement" talk to himself and simply asked (privately!) the Bills to trade him. Then the Bills may have had a shot at getting a player or possibly a decent draft pick (3rd or fourth). Something, yet Aaron killed any chance the Bills had. Nice way to repay the Bills for making him a millionaire many times over. Bastage!

#10 pick, Alualu, agrees to terms with Jags
Spiderweb replied to Fingon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not a Larry "the Cable Guy" fan, eh? With the slots pretty well determined, the only way it could go wrong now is if Spiller has the attitude and mentality of Crabtree from last year. Here's to hoping the contract gets done soon. -
Nfl sunday ticket; Who's signing up?
Spiderweb replied to Clippers of Nfl's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It was available in 1994 (first year) for $89.00 (big dish....before DTV and DishNetwork ran the Big dish away). It was located on satellite G5 where the TVN Theaters (multi channels - pay for view movie/events) were. After the second game (began at 4:00 PM) was complete, it would switch back to the TVN Theaters for their pay for view showings. Ah, the good old days of C-band........virtually no rain fade either but watch out for when the Sun, Satellite, and dish lined up. There would be 5-10 minutes of deteriorating signal, none, then the gradual return. Happened for a couple weeks in October around 3:00 PM or so (when I lived in Dayton, OH). -
Darrelle Revis skips the start of training camp

Holy cow, you actually have people agreeing with you for a change....... -
Personally, I don't want Saban on the wall of fame. We rant about players who won't honor their contracts, and owners to cut players almost on a whim, voiding contracts. Yet a pass is given to a man who walked out, not once, but twice? Wilson did bury the hatchet once and brought Saban back, only to have him walk out again during the 1976 season. In fact, Saban's entire life was a monument to broken contracts. What amazes is that he was able to continue to get new jobs, even a baseball one for a while (he was friendly with Stienbrenner). Lou Saban did himself in. Not to speak ill of the dead, and no pun intended, let dead dogs lie.
