  1. Since he was hired, I've listened to many excerpts from his pressers and I have to say, I genuinely like listening to want he has to say. He's an exact opposite of what Marv Levy & Co. gave us when they hired Jauron. He speaks well (with a bit of southern drawl), generally has something to of value to say in response to questions, both good and bad. To me, he gives the impression that he's a well grounded, honest, man of good character. In all my years of following the Bills, I enjoy listening to Gailey more than any HC and that includes Marv. With the Bills opening the season so horribly with Edwards and an offense that couldn't get out of it own way, a defense that was so bad that to say it leaked like a sieve would be to do injustice to a sieve, the team has come together impressively. From the Bills being the joke of the media guys and maybe the league, to a team I dare to say, that seem capable of playing with anybody. Chan and much of his staff have done a good job learning the best way to utilize the players he has. Defense has improved, although much work remains, especially in run defense and ability to get a consistent pass rush (yes, our pass rush against the Steelers was as good as we've seen in quite some time. The offense, which Chan is highly involved with has become, again dare I say it, explosive. It may struggle a bit from time to time, but it has also shown to be one that can explode at any given time, unlike the offense of the few years and the start of this season. If all Nix ever does for the Bills is to give us Gailey, at least he's done one good solid piece of work there. Now here's to hoping that Nix will rely heavily on input from Gailey, and that Modrak will soon be spending his time in Florida retired.
  2. Whoa, not unlike myself, you've witnessed more than just a few fall seasons. I liked Brodie and the 49ers when I was a lad.
  3. While the standing Buffalo is a classic logo, the Bills first real one, it is dated and I would also prefer the charging Buffalo over it anytime. I also liked the white helmets. So......take the helmet of the 1974 Bills (white with blue charging Buffalo with the red stripe) and the colors of the 90's. Blue jersey, white pants at home, blue pants, white jerseys on the road. Hey, that's just what I would prefer.
  4. As young developing receiver, I wondered why he was sent up to the podium to begin with. Was Chan trying to teach the kid humility and mental toughness? It was hard watching and listening to him. It obviously hit home. Now he needs to swallow his pride, put it behind him and go out to become one of the best receivers in the game.
  5. ??? A tall, lanky WR isn't generally where one looks to find your next TE. Height - good, lanky - bad.
  6. +1
  7. 50 / 50. Bell has improved tremendously over last year and while Whitner may have made some hits, his coverage skills still seem horribly lacking to me.
  8. Just to throw in another view point. Poz has been playing well. Yesterday was not one of his better games, but if you were looking at replays and singling him out on live action plays, you should have also noticed he drew a lot of attention from the Steelers' lineman, etc. This says more about the weakness of our OLB's. and DL that are supposed to help keep them off the LB's, and actually gives Poz credit as being the guy they wanted to focus on. Hate to invoke some rational thought here during a rip fest. We do agree it wasn't one of his better games though. I'm just saying......
  9. I guess, if you're a believer, that the gifts God bestowed on him that led to his even having a chance to catch or drop a ball in the NFL mean nothing. Stevie, you have a tremendous amount to be thankful for. One would hope that your tweet was merely an act of an emotionally upset individual who will soon see and appreciate the many gifts he has been given. Yet, with today's "it's all about me" society, one can easily see it spilling over into one's religious beliefs and practices.
  10. "Fictional", well I guess that describes your beliefs. Some may find this very offensive.
  11. Now there's a man of true genius.......
  12. That's a big hope, not that he's hurt badly, but just enough that he won't be able to go this week.
  13. While I have also noted often that Fitz accuracy is an issue, yet the tip ball for a pick was a catchable ball. Great throw mo, but it wasn't way behind, or too far in front, over over his head, or thrown into the ground. The WR must make that play in the RZ. Sadly, Johnson didn't today. I have loved what Johnson has done lately, but the cold hard truth is that he sucked today. Fitz hurt the Bills with picks against The Raven (2 late picks), against the Chiefs (late), and late against the Bears, yet today's was on Johnson who has to make that play.
  14. You're beating a dead horse. Most simply wanted some value for him. There were only a very few staunch defenders of Lynch.
  15. The throw was high, but Johnson didn't have to leap, and as you said, that catch has to be made. Alas.....
  16. I agree. Yet, McKelvin saw daylight and exploded. Had he simply didn't accommodate room enough for Moats. As for protecting the ball? Isn't that what earned McKelvin some yard word, free of charge previously? Your dead on with respect to ball security.
  17. That one was infuriating, yet the replay simply showed that McKelvin saw that he was gone and didn't give Moats a chance to make his block and get out of the way.
  18. Jeez, I feel like I'm thinking like ICE, and while I have tremendous empathy for Johnson and his manning up for the interview, the story of today's game is simply that the joke was on the Joker.. He had a horrible day, admits to it, seems sincere in his disappointment. Good, he should. Now go forward and get back to the play that has brought many good things to the offense this year. Even the great Jerry Rice suffered from bad drops his first year or two.
  19. Hummmm. It's simply factual Miss Harriet. He has played great, but today he sucked. Maybe I would have too but I wasn't in the game. I'll refrain from saying the same back at you.
  20. I agree with the need for two quality OLB's, but let's not overlook an almost equal need to find Stroud's replacement as well. He looked old and slow out there. He's barely a shadow of the player he once was for the Jags.
  21. Take the bits that can be learned from, and forget the rest. Having Stevie do a post game interview? Why? Yet he stepped up and took the loss and his poor game on himself, as he should. Might some of the defesne do the same for allowing a one footed "Rotsberger" to run unmolested for 19 on a third an 18 play.
  22. Yeah Stevie, you da bomb, the dropped bomb. Worst performance by a WR that I've seen in years. 5-6 drops. Yet, to be fair, you have been playing great, which makes your performance today all the more painful to watch.
  23. Today, we played against and offensive line that blcoks well for the run, but as everyone saw, is poor in pass protection. That made our ruch look better than it really was or is. That said, we absolutely need Troup and Carrington to be ballers. Today, they looked better, but some of those huge holes for the Steelers to run through continues to be a huge concern. Our LB's too much carrying much of the blame as well. They were either late to see the play, over over ran the hole. Stroud, who played decently against the Bungals, looked every bit today as a player with a fork buried in his back.
  24. Your username so aptly describes the essence of a Bills fan has been for the past 10-11 years. Yet, we are seeing great effort, but also talent is there enough to be able to go head to head. What is needed is a few players who can be the difference makers, that and dump truck full of "stick 'em".
  25. A few times I saw Carrington use the shutter step in pass rushing. I hope he learns that it must be bang bang then explode. One one play, he was still stutter stepping three seconds into his rush. That's not going to cut it. Yet, overall he does seem big and mobile. It also seemed that he will only get better with PT. Now back to nub hands Johnson.....
