  1. Correct. The sack the Raiders got on Fitz was wiped out by a penalty (theirs).
  2. Brutal..... Dareus was held numerous times, and that one on Merriman.....damn he was grabbed, pulled, and tackled for crying out loud an nor flag? No excuse either for the officials to miss that, the bills were rushing only three and merriman was coming off the edge in plain sight!
  3. I couldn't agree more.....
  4. The Raiders WR made a couple of great catches when McKelvin had him well covered. The late score on the bomb was mostly on Wilson. As the safety, he was slow getting back there and seem to be running at half speed just before the catch. I hated watching our D get carved up by Campbell, but dag, watching Fitz match him punch for punch was beautiful. I last drive for a score, how beautiful was that? How many times the past 10 years of so have we witnessed a total flame out in similar situations. Lastly, kudos to Freddie Jackson and a solid tip of the hat for inspired play from Spiller (for a change.....).
  5. Those three are the ones that stand out in my mind for sure. All of them left me sick to my stomach.......
  6. Lets hope its not flatulence.
  7. That may be true, but he struggles mightily trying to put it to words. Loved Tasker as a player, but as an announcer, he's brutal, not unlike how JK was in his short stint as an announcer, analyst.
  8. Fitz played a decent game, but the 4 TDs were huge. Yet I can't stop thinking of a number of throws in the dirt, a couple of which were on third downs that should have kept their drives alive. There's much to like about Fitz, but his inconsistent accuracy will drive us all nuts, as it already has in the past, and will continue to do so going forward. Now this is not to say that he's not a better QB than anyone we've had since the days of the declining Drew Bledsoe. I do love the way he approaches the game and how he plays with heart and toughness.
  9. I like the way Batten plays the game, but he looks small out there and if he's engaged by an O-lineman, he's pretty much finished. He shows some quickness, and heart, but I'm not sold on his being an effective pass rusher. Looked good in preseason, but that was mostly against guys that didn't make their teams.
  10. Running games are built on 3 and 4 yard carries, sprinkled in with the 10, 15, 20 etc., bursts. (a la Fred Jackson). I was not impressed with the run D either. I remember after the game being thankful they didn't and then couldn't (due to the score) run the ball more.
  11. While I hope Merriman can return to form as much as any Bills fans can, he looked very average yesterday overall. In his few preseason snaps, he was able to bull rush, but didn't display the quickness he once had. Not by a long shot. Yet, here's to hoping that playing time and staying healthy will allow him to open it up and be a big contributor this year.
  12. A healthy McGee is still probably our best DB. I for hope he'll rebound quickly and will still have a solid season for the Bills. Yet, from the look on his face when he went to the bench, he appeared worried well beyond not being able to play further against the Chiefs.
  13. Our deepest sympathies to you and your family.
  14. After being an NFL Sunday Ticket subscriber since its inception (using the old Big Dish, C and Ku band), I just let it go after having called DTV on three separate occasions and was unable to get them to budge. You see, I only carried the NFL Sunday Ticket with DTV, no other programming after having done so since the late 90's. My options (and their commitment to me) were limited at best. This year I was not able to get them to even knock off $60.00 as I have been able to for the past few years. I loved the Ticket, but simply could not justify the price at full tariff. I even offered to come back fully with DTV by adding a programming package, but they only would offer standard rates and the early bird renewal price I already had for the ticket. Last year, I gave NFL Game Rewind a whirl (while still keeping the Ticket), and frankly the quality was solid, and I loved the reduced commercials and wasted time. I could get a complete game in well under 2 hours. Sure, I will now have to wait till midnight, but since I work evenings, it fits my life well enough. Living just outside Lousiville, KY, I won't have many opportunities to watch the Bills live on Broadcast TV (Bengals are broadcast here along with the Colts generally). I will miss going to IRC Chat during the game with Fezmid, and a number of others (TSW Chat generally was empty...). The live chat had become a sizable part of the game experience. What I do object to is the never ending cost increases (it cost me $89.00 the first couple years and there were no blackout rules then either). Red Zone, etc added value, but since I didn't have any other programming, I had to pay $10.00 a month so I would get it in HD. This was in addition to the Ticket. Previously, DTV waived this, but couldn't get them to budge this year. I also despise the exclusivity of it (DTV), and the lack of "a la carte" services from DTV as well a from all TV programming providers. Back in the Big dish days, a la carte was the norm. When my last call ending, the customer retention rep with DTV advised I would likely be getting a nice re-connect offer. I asked to go over with me, and she said she couldn't until I was officially disconnected. Silly, but that was she said and I couldn't pry anything further out of her. So, we'll see what they offer, but I don't hold much hope for it to be substantial enough......
  15. Respectfully? Why meet willful ignorance with respect?
  16. Well that's it gents, time for Troup to pack his bags. You heard it here first from Swami Papazoid". Troup having playing limited snaps last year, hurt this pre-season (hand), and Heard who has taken anything but pre-season snaps basically, and he's already anointed the superior player? Jeez.........
  17. Lee Evans WAS a game charger, albeit it wasn't anywhere frequent enough. Lee will still be missed, and while I hope someone can step up, I've not yet seen anything from Easley to make me believe he's the guy. He still seems a bit tentative when on the field. Donald Jones hasn't impressed me either. David Nelson has impressed, but he won't be the guy to stretch the field. "Bust" Davis will soon be cut.
  18. Sure is, but just not right kind of stud. He played like a stiff 2x4 Saturday.....
  19. They do.....
  20. My observation on Merriman as well. Yet I do hope that with more PT and confidence, his burst will also return to near what it once was.
  21. That was one thing I noticed as well with Troup. In shedding blocks (with one arm/hand) he wasn't very successful.
  22. Well said..... "Erratic" being the operative word. Camps reports had him looking very good early, injury or not, but the later ones had him getting beat more and more as plays and coverages were added. With the lack of OTA's and short camp, he's got a lot of ground to make up. Yet, he sure got a lot of reps tonight so hopefully that means they see much in him and are trying to get him ready....
  23. Jeez.....have to agree. That chip block that knocked "Mayhem" on his posterior was absolutely embarrassing.
  24. To each their own. I wasn't thrilled with Heard, and Jasper didn't show anything of note either. Prior to these guys, Troups reps looked hurt by his hand injury as it definitely took his hand away and that's an area of his game he needed to improve upon and was supposedly making good strides with.
