  1. No cash, but nice going ya lucky bas....!!!!! Seems I'll be looking soon too and one possiblity is Buffalo (lived in Dayton OH the past 20 years). Pay could be an issue though as the housing there is reasonable, but the taxes....jeez.............
  2. From watching Evans develop last year, I'd have to say that he may not be our #1 this year, but he will be by the follwoing season. Moulds is slipping a bit, and may not even be here beyond this comingyear, unless he's willing to give up some $$$$ (this time a cut in salary).
  3. May God bless them. They're in our prayers.
  4. Welcome to CBA & Free Agency. Building a line, even a good one is always a couple years away from rebuilding. The days of what the cowboys had in the early to Mid 90's are over. How would you like to Favre this year? God only knows what kind of line he's going to have....
  5. Kenmore, NY (49), Dayton, OH
  6. Personally, I believe it was mainly the $$$. JJ and his agent most likely let their "ball park" figures be known and TD wasn't going to go there, but that's just my opinion. I could be wrong.
  7. Yes he is. Thank you very much for asking. He's in Kindergarten right now as I type this and has just recently been cleared by his doctor to finally be able to begin his immunizations. Again, thanks for the kind thoughts.
  8. I seem to recall that he too has a fumbling problem (yet I checked a couple stats sites and they didn't list his fumbles). One thing for sure though, he sure fell out of favor quickly down in Dallas. Must have been reasonable cause.... Also, he never caught more than 21 passes either so his receiving skills may be in question. Short of it, he's far from a complete back and I would suggest that TH is a better choice than Hambrick. Unfortunately, it seems the Cards have moved away from trying to land TH. I know Bill in NYC doesn't like TH, but jeez, give him a break. Hambrick is considerably worse.
  9. A TE can be a QB's best friend. I remember Kelly going more and more to Metzalaars as the offensive line in front of him turned to crap. Yet, i wonder exactly what type of TE Mularkey and Clements would like to have in that I don't recall Pittsburgh featuring their TE's much. Bruenner for years was there to block primarily. With the power running game, blocking is far more valuable. Yet, as I mentioned above, who knows what the brass is looking for at this point. One thing is clear in my mind though is that it would be highly risky to trust that Campbell and Euhus will be ready and capable, especially the first half of the season.
  10. And if that was the process, in that governmental waste was cut FIRST, then we'd have something, but neither party has any desire to reduce THIER numbers, power, or what have you. All we have now is the cutting, not the "fix".
  11. Much better contract (team wise) than we gave Ruben Brown a number of years back, IIRC.
  12. Very well may be the case. As for Holcomb, I feel that was a nice move. Here's a guy who wants to play, yet understands and obviously has accepted the thought of being the backup. As for Gandy, on paper and as reported, he can play both Guard and Tackle, which makes him a needed backup player. I liked Price, but as a backup Tackle only, he wasn't as flexible. He also played the right side far better than the left, which I personally thought he was below average at. Couple this with a guy who's in his early 30's vs. a mid 20's guy, a bad kneee (probalbly a chronic condition) and the move made considerable sense. Nice minor touches, but still nice. I think TD will still have a trick or two up his sleeve.
  13. Nah, your posts are always worth reading. Keep 'em coming.
  14. Was this from his "book"? Never heard of this before...wow...
  15. McGee early in the year got picked on quite heavily, but really did settle down for the most part in the second half of the year. While winfiled had far superior technique and was one of the best tacklers pound for pound, he lost many points because the "big" INT just wasn't part of his game. McGee will jump routes a bit more, has shown the ability to pick a few off. I like his "big" play possibilities. Winfield also did alot of his tackling "after" he gave up the catch. I don't care how close he was when the opposition WR made catch after catch. Also, to this observer, Winfiled seemed to struggle with the deep ball more than a quality CB should have. Winfield was and still is a solid CB, just no where near worth the ridiculous money he got from Minny.
  16. Under the old "fair use" standard, copying a telecast for your own use was/is legal. However, once the copies are not for your own use, things begin to get a bit dicey, sale or not. I'm no expert, yet there is one around here that would be much more knowledgeable on this subject than most others here. His/her name is ........... DRM is changing the old dynamic drastically, but this hasn't hit the "airwaves" (yet), has it?
  17. Fez, that's not like you.....have a bad day?
  18. Give it a rest. You're manipulating something out of nothing. He's merely saying is not about to backup someone who has what, 12 (if that) snaps to his career resume? It has absolutely nothing to do with what he may think of JP personally. (particularly JP = virtual novice at this point). Anything the further validate his release. Wasn't Drew's play or lack thereof enough?
  19. Yes. The music and the man are inexorably entwined.
  20. I had a 19 year old friend (many years back) that had a aneurysm that took his life. 19, apparently healthy, had just returned to his girlfriend's home after having gone out for dinner with her and her parents. He told his girlfriend that he felt sick, had a splitting headache, and was going to go home. He made it just short of her front door and collapsed. He was gone by the time the EMT folks arrived. Maybe Bruschi has messed with performance enhancing chemicals, maybe not, but before he's colored with a wide brush, remember one simple truth, "sh-- happens". Here's to hoping Brushi makes a complete recovery.
  21. I agree 100%. This is an opportunity to not just set a realistic cap, but to explore revenue sharing (ala NFL) as well. That will provide the economic balance that is needed to make the league viable. Also, when one compares the revenue streams between the NFL and NHL, one quickly sees that the cap figure really shouldn't be 40 Mil plus either. If saving the game/league is really what this is all about, how about a rollback of sorts on the ticket prices for those who are willing to support the game if they could afford to? This should be about a major overhaul, not bandaids.
  22. Being just up the road in Dayton, I too had the misfortune of being "able" to watch these two artists at work. Nice draft choices Mr. Brown.
  23. Even though my gut initially said this was a mistake in annoiting JP the "guy" without making him "win" the job, I'm beginning to feel a bit of excitement just thinking of what might be. I like the assessment of our offense from Mularkey and the realization that it needs plays from the QB position that they felt Drew just couldn't make. Now if we can just nail down a decent vet backup and pick up another young QB to develope......
  24. While I'm not overly optimistic with the change as it relates to the near term, one must agree that Drew's stats the past couple of years were very mediocre and therefore may be more obtainable or able to exceeded by JP than they might otherwise be. All I know is I don't want another "learning/growing/ adjustment" year.
