  1. Louisville WR Mario Urrutia (I now live in the Louisville area) was really a non-entity this past year after showing some promise in 2006. Missed a couple games and had a couple with no stats (verified with ESPN site). Had a naggng leg injury but generally was disappointing in 2007. 4th round may be a hair high, I'd go 6th or thereabouts. Never was overly impressed with him in the 4-5 games I watched this year.
  2. Can't say that would have been true as other facits of the Bills game weren't up to snuff either, but he surely would have made the Giants & the second Dallas games different. In both, the Bills got hurt with the run, especially in the second half of each game. Wright was just too small. He added pass rush ability that big Ted may not have had, but Mount Washington is the best nose tackle to have ever played, especially against the run
  3. No matter how much that contributed to the collapse, the D & special teams also played their part. Yet, bringing it up was valid. It was a bad throw and a piss poor decision on his part. JP, however, would have been drawn and quartered.....
  4. Possibly, but with last year's injuries, we were sorely understaffed in the defensive backfield and afetr watching Leonhard run around with third degree burns from being beaten as badly as he was, anything will help. Wilson, filled in admirably at FS, but he too has so much to learn (and perform) before he should be counted on for depth as well. Here's to hoping for a full and complete recovery by KO....
  5. What? No comparisons to Gary Marangi or Joe Dufek? Edwards finish last year surely was an uninspiring finish. In fact, I can only recall one game, his initial start against the Jets that he consistently moved the chains. His multi-TD game against Miami was a very mediocre game, except the 3 scores, but I guess that's the bottom line though. All in all, we're taking a risk with Edwards, yet not a huge one since JP as been a hot & cold type player (more cold than hot although I would like to see how he'd perform with a better OC than what he's had to date). If Edwards can become a consistently decent QB, all will be forgotten with the JP scenario. If not, this board will be calling for his head..... For me, I'll wait and see. So far I'm not impressed at all with his ability to go downfield, yet his short game and pocket presence seems more than adequate. Time will tell....
  6. hummmm.....I recall it just a bit heavier.....He played in the high 250's, low 260's.... Lori?
  7. It's not just you, there's at least a couple more of us who felt he was the biggest (no pun intended) successful FA pickup.
  8. Inaccurate post, iffy premise at best, and at worst, it matches your politics.
  9. Paup was basically a one year flash, never the same after the groin injury. Speilman would have been, except he too had too short a tenure with the Bills. This leaves Mount Washington. I take this question as stated,a FA pick up as in a signing of an available FA, not an undrafted signing. Undrafted signings would be Pat Williams and Jason Peters who has the potential to be our best "steal".
  10. I have an older brother-in-law, Mario (who's over in Europe as I write this) that was diagnosed with ALS late last summer, early fall. He and my sister-in-law were back in the States visiting in February and it was absolutely heart breaking to see how fare he's begun to fail since they were back a year ago previous, also in February. He's in France trying some experimental bee sting therapy and on a few drugs that attempt to slow the progression. It isn't fair as my brother-in-law (born in Italy, raised in the South of France, and havining had lived in the USA, Brazil, Argentina, Portugal and now in Spain) is an absolutely great guy....it really sucks. He had a restaurant in southern Spain for the last 8 years, but had to sell it in December because he could no longer keep up with the demands it made on him.
  11. Precisely. I can recall a few that said the same thing about Phil Hansen, and right now he'd be the best D-lineman we'd have if he were still playing and in or near his prime.
  12. Does the expression, "go pound salt" mean anything to you? K-Gun - Thank you.
  13. Haven't heard that he's moving fast towards retiring, but then, he has moved very fast towards anything in years.
  14. Well, at least it wasn't a strip bar (a la Pacman).... Titans must be wondering.....
  15. Back when he was in Seattle, he was seen as having huge potential, but he always had a bad case of the dropsies that I don't believe he ever over came. His speed may also be waning so his value is considerably less than it may once have been. Seems to me we really need to look a lot harder than to make a move for Jackson at this point. What we need is to find someone else who is buried behind someone else and who actually has talent (a la Frank Lewis).
  16. IIRC, while Manningham may be listed at 6"0 178-lbs, wasn't he measured recently at around 5"9'' - 5'10" and under 170-lbs? Surely doesn't seem to fit the picture of a WR the Bills need or are interested in.
  17. "Kinda" ??? Now that's a classic understatement, He made Pennington look like a strong armed gunslinger. His best pass was the "floater"..... Yet, for that one brief period (a single year), he did manage to inject hope and enthusiasm however short lived it may have been.
  18. .....................zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
  19. Thanks for that visual...........
  20. Many of those who have excelled (or still think they can) make for very poor teachers. Where is it a given that Takeo would have been a great teacher? Where is it written that a "teacher" should make 4.6 Mil this year practicing the profession of enlightenment? Had Takeo not blown up his achilles......never mind, it happened and....
  21. As much as I enjoyed watching Spikes play until the injury, it now merely the law of diminishing returns. Large contract, reduced mobility and impact, along with age beginning to be a factor. As was the case with McGahee (other issues aside), it's time to get something for him rather than this year being his last and ending up with zippo. If he can return to close to his former self, all the more power to him, but he's now on the wrong side of 30 and.............. Wish Takeo well.....
  22. Did a check view of those listings.... I guess there is a decent choice of affordable housing there. Paid $250K for approx 3600 sq ft new home in Southern Indiana recently.... But my taxes are under $2500 annually.....
  23. Hummm, that clearly states your position....
