Why? When the Bills suck you have your choice of other games to watch - you could actually see several NFL caliber teams play.....

Can the Bills go out of business and then come back so that they can be declared an expansion team? That's the only way they are going to bring in enough new blood to move forward in the next 5 years....

You red shirt in college because you only have so many years of eligibility. You don't red shirt in the pros - in fact, quite the opposite. The only way you get better is by playing pro ball at a pro levels and that means getting reps against real competitors in real games. Absolutely insane to think that red shirting would get you anything at the pro level.

Good thing it was Donte who said it, because if there's one guy on the Bills who can make a statment and get the team to respond it's Donte "I guarantee the playoffs" Whitner. Seriously, dude needs to STFU because all he can do is talk and can't translate anything into real action.

The problem is that when you look at the Bills roster it's feast or famine - usually it's famine. For the serious dearth of talent we have at some positions, we have other positions that are pretty loaded - RB and DB being prime examples. It's hard to play your best 22 guys when several of them play the same position. You think Freddy's the best RB - others think it's Spiller and I'm starting to think that the coaching staff likes the way Marshawn runs. The useless posiibilities you speak about are a result if an unbalanced team - either having too little or too much talent at a position to have a clear direction on which way to go.

Therein lies the difference between guys who are mock draft pundits and guys who have jobs as talent evaluators in the NFL. You have to remember that even if all the pundits give a guy a high grade and expect him to be taken in a given round it doesn't mean the scouts and front office people agree. Look at Claussen - the pundits all said he'd go in the first round and several teams, including the Bills passed on hime multiple times before he was drafted in the mid second round. Every year there are guys the mock drafter project way higher than they actually go, meaning ALL of the scounts/front office people had a different valuation of a guy than the pundits did.

I also liked the Make a Wish a kid got this year at the draft. As a big Steelers fan he got to be the one to go up to the podium and announce their first round pick, then got to be out there taking pictures with the player, the team reps and Roger Goodell - I thought that was a pretty cool wish and really cool of the NFL and the Steelers to make it happen.

The entire staring offensive and defensive lineups for Green Bay get caught at Mark Chmura's high school homecoming hot tub party, a tape of which finds its way to Roger Goodell along with major media outlets.....

I respect them, too and I root wholeheartedly for their success. I'm willing to give them more time and agree that they can't be judged by wht they've done up until now - but that's my point. Just as you can't run them out of town after 1 game you also can't say they are the saviors of this sorry franchise. Shortly aftey were installed in their positions people were singing their praises and saying how the organization was finally heading in the right direction - based on what, exactly? Some people stopped just short of saying they could walk on water and that's just silly - they don't get credit for anything until they show it in my book. I will tell you that I am disappointed that we lost the game in exactly the same way we've been losing them for the past umpteen years - in boring, repeated 3 and out can't move the ball fashion. I was hoping that we'd at least have some excitement when we got beat. Again - we'll see what happens with more time......

I find it makes the sting out of the major whooping the Bils are taking - yeah we're playing a really boring, crappy game and getting throttled, but at least you're fantasy team is kicking butt! Honestly, I don't know how anyone can be a Bills fan and not play fantasy football - when reality bites fantasy is a great salvation.......

I've been waiting for this thread ever since some people starting anointing Chan the savior of the franchise. To hear some people talk after he was hired, Chan is some sort of offensive genius who was going to get the most out of this team. He was going to take an a very medicore QB (take your pick - we've got lots on the roster) and make him a solid starter. He was going to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear with the ragtag bunch of substandard garbage we have at the tackle position and let the "ge" into a solid unit. He was going to lead us to a winning record if not the playoffs. He was a master of deception a la Sun Tzu and was going to shock the world with this little team nobody even bothered to talk about. Guess what - Chan can't solve the problems of this organization. He can't make up for 10+ years of miserable personnel decisions and failure to address the offensive line and quarterback. Heck, he can't even figure a way to at least make the losses entertaining - we lost and still got the same old boring dog slop we've been fed for years. Call me crazy, but I'll continue to say that Chan and Buddy will get respect from me when they show me some results, not just for being the new guy with the folksy southern drawl......

I remember what it feels like. One minute you're on top of the world having actually won the game, the next you're walking out of the bar in a daze with dozens of other grown men and women openly crying because people forgot to stay in their lanes and the ref wasn't about to overrule a forward lateral against the home team. Damn, it still stings.

I've kind of given up on the whole jersey thing. I'm tired of shelling out money for a jersey of a guy who turns out to be a turd like McGahee or someone who is a good player but goes elsewhere when his contract is up and now plays against us (seriously - who was the last good player the Bills had who stayed in Buffalo rather than getting big money somehwere else?). The league put the kabosh on getting your jersey renumbered/renamed, so I have some really nice expensive jerseys in my closet that I don't wear - I'm not in a hurry to add to that collection. My other $.02 on this topic - if you're a big guy, wear the jersey of a big guy. I can'ttell you how silly ti looks to see some 400+ pund dude rocking the jersey of some 150 pound receiver or defensive back - they really shouldn't even make Roscoe Parrish jerseys in size 58......

I just switched from Sirius to XM (new car had XM) so I got the Best of Sirius package to get the Bills games. If I read the XM schedule correctly, it looks like only 3 of the 16 Bills games will actually have the Bills broadcast - the other 13 games will be the broadcast from the opponent's radio network. By contrast, 12 of the 16 Patriots* games will feature their announcers. Absolutely pathetic.

If Sun Tzu makes anyone feel better about the upcoming season then I'm OK with that, but no amout of ancient wisdom changes the fact that the Bills lack talent in a great number of places as our personnel decisions over the past decade have been terrible. I am constantly amazed at what Bills fans will draw upon to give them hope before the season starts.Don't get me wrong - I'm not criticizing anyone for getting pumped up, but when your best hope is that we have some sort of genius plan of deception based on ancient philosophy you might just be bitterly disappointed when the season actually starts.
