I think this is why Buffalo still has fans - there's always some people who really think any given guy just needs a few more chances and he's gonna be the answer - the same people who supported Trent Edwards, JP Losman, Kelly Holcomb....as fans we never actually seem to demand more - it seems like if you try hard and put forth a good effort that's good enough. That's great for Pop Warner, but this is the NFL - I don't care how hard you try, how much you really want to win, how nice of a guy you are - it's about winning and when you blow your last three chances I'm not giving you a pass and I'm certainly not willing to say we can build a team around you...

When Fits starts actually winning some games when it's on the line (he's certainly had has chances), you be sure to let me know. That's the difference between Fit z and Peyton - Peyton is, often times, the hero and Fitz isn't. One guy has a Super Bowl Ring and will be a first ballot hall of famer, the other will be an offensive quality control coach for the Cleveland Browns 3 years from now.

Choking is letting that ball slip like you're some sort of 8 year old girl who doesn't know how to throw a football. Choking is also having open receivers and not putting the ball anywhere near where they can catch it with the game on the line. I admire that the Bills have been in close games against good teams on the road, but I'm not giving Fitz a pass - he has had opportunities to be the hero and has done zip with it - that's choking.

I disagre. I think the last drive clearly shows that while we have a solid backup quarterback, we don't have someone who is going to bring this team to the next level. Simply put, Fitz is too inconsistent. He throws some nice passes into some tough spots but then misses open guys with throws that sail on him or he just puts in the wrong place (too low, behind the receiver, etc.). What bothers me most is that for the second week in a row with the game within reach he destructed. Last week it was that weird ball slipping out of his hand without even being hit and missing a wide open Spiller, and this week I think Fitz was responsible for the last 3 incompletions down the stretch and the horrible ball that sailed on him and got picked to seal the game. I like Fitz, but I honestly think the guy's a choker and I think that's something that's hard to shed - and something a team that can't shake the stink of losing can ill afford.

Actually it is warmer in the Boston area - most winter days top out at a few degrees above freezing - I don't recall many above freezing days in Buffalo in the winter. I'd actually rather have Buffalo weather - what happens in Boston is that itgets above freezing in the day, the freezes at night, then thaws again the next day - absolutely kills the roads. If it would just stay frozen I think the roads would fare much better.

I don't get the whole cold thing. Yes - it gets below freezing in Buffalo and yes it snows. But it's not like it's Siberia where it gets down to -40 or -50. I know it's been a few years since I lived in WNY, but I don't recall it even being cold enough for many people to use things like engine block heaters. Heck, in some other NFL cities like Green Bay and Minneapolis practically everyone uses an engine heater - if you don't your car might not start. In Minneaplois they built a skyway to get around downtown without having to go outside because it's so cold. Buffalo gets cold, but not nearly as cold as some other places - put if you're some pansy football writer I guess anything below 75 degrees just gets lumped together as "damn it's cold".

I think technically we might be entitled to a pick, but if you factor in the circumstances - a guy who didn't want to be here suited up and played a handful of games to play out his contract - they would decide it was't worth much - maybe a 7th. I think it would be different if we had signed him to an original contract and he had spent lots of time being a central part of the team - those are the holes the NFL is trying to fill through compensatory picks......

Biggest piece of advice I can give you is to remember that this is a HUGE change and it's no longer about YOU. I don't mean for that to sound scary - it's not. But your life changes and the focus of things becomes the family and the kid. It's not about when you're going to find time for yourself to do something you like to do - you take that when you can get it but there are very few times when you get a 'day off'. Example - the times you're going to look forward to are things like a trip to the zoo with the family and even then you're still going to have plenty of responsibility. You're going to probably be hard pressed to spend every Saturday with the guys going mountain biking like you do now - the focus will shift. I think the guys who have the biggest problems with fatherhood somehow think that once they have a kid life is still going to be pretty much the same just with a kid - no such thing. Because they think that way they get upset that they aren't mountain biking with the guys every Saturday or if they are it's causing problems because you're leaving Mom to do everything while you take time for yourself - neither is a good situation. The sooner you can understand that it's not about you and really enjoy the zoo trip rather than the Saturday with the guys the better off you'll be - welcome to a new stage of your life.
