I have a Polaris 380 that is very nice - climbs the walls and does a good job - put it in, let it run and within about 2 hours my 25,000 gallon pool is cleaned. It runs on a booster pump and has its own water line - you need good pressure to make it work. I put the booster pumb on a timer so it runs un the middle of the night when nobody is in the pool. I thik Polaris has some even better models now - mune is 8 years old.

Imminent domain is when the government shows up and tells you they are going to take your property - tomorrow.... -
High motor - get excited about this guy but he's never going to actually be a great player He's a bit of a tweener - guy was great in college but at the NFL there's absolutely no place for him - too small or too big to play where he did in college Has a nasty streak - talks $*(&^ out on the field Has great technique - looks pretty, but doesn't mean he's a good player Has great quickness - had a bad 40 time but he really should be fast

I looked at ALL bye weeks for ALL teams since 2000 - here's what I found: -Since 2000, Buffalo has played 18 games against teams coming off a bye. By contrast, New England has played 10, including a 3 year stretch between 2007-2009 where they played ZERO teams coming off a bye -New England has played Buffalo 6 times after coming off their bye since 2000, by far the most common matchup. Since 2000, no other team has played the same opponent more than 3 times coming off their bye week. -Only 1 team has played more games against teams coming off a bye than Buffalo - Atlanta has 20 games against such teams, Buffalo has 18. Arizona has the fewest with only 5. I know we Bills fans are a sensitive and somewhat paranoid lot - it's hard not to be when you see how we get dumped on. I don't think there's any master plan to screw the Bills and make their life tough or to give someone else some sort of break, but looking at the data you do see that Buffalo has fared far worse than most in this area. To me it's simply a matter of bad luck, but with all the bad luck we've had in other areas I'd rather not have it when it comes to the schedule.

Why I think we must go Punter in the 1st round
The Avenger replied to voodoo poonani's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They are out there - you see them every year at halftime of the AFC and NFC Championship games as they receive their awards - they are broken into divisions based on age and gender. Normally I'd say we should target the winner of the boys over 12 division, but some of those girls are pretty good and the novelty of having a 12 year old girl on the team would certainly bring us some attention and sell merch and tickets....... -
I'm surprised to hear that you were able to get an alternate NBC feed if you live in Manch Vegas - that is defintely not the sticks (but is is much further out from Boston than me - I'm in Chelmsford, MA).
-
Not sure where you live, but we were not eligible for that when 7 NBC went off in Boston - I thought you had to live pretty far away from the source of the impacetd channel to qualify to receive another feed from the same network......

The ESPN contract (for the national ESPN channels) is probably negotiated with ESPN directly for all markets - ESPN hasn't changed on my lineup - I wouldn't think it would elsewhere in the country, either. YES is one of the premium sports channels you can get nationwide - in the NYC metro area it may be considered part of your local package (in Boston NESN is part of the basic package but it is premium elsewhere). The Fox/CW problem is that Tribune broadcasting, which owns several stations in several markets, has not come to an agreement with DTV, so DTV cannot carry those channels in those markets. When we had our NBC/CW dispute in Boston the same company also owned a Fox affiliate in Miami that also went off DTV for a few weeks.
-
Have fun with that. In Boston we were without NBC and CW for weeks - even threatened the Super Bowl. Because that Pats* kept winning and made it all the way to the Super Bowl, the owner of the NBC and CW affiliates had DTV by the short and curlies - I was hoping for the Pats* to lose more than normal, just to get my wife off my back about how she was missing all her shows on CW.....

I love those things but the only places I can find them are in mini-marts - I never see them in a grocery store, CVS, Wallgreens, etc. - weird.........

Darth Vader gets a new heart
The Avenger replied to /dev/null's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I hate Dick Cheney's politics, but I wish the man well with his new heart - hard to begrudge anyone for getting a second chance at life with a new heart, regardless of politics. When I first heard the news of the transplant my first question was, how old is Dick Cheney - I actually looked it up. I'm not a transplant surgeon, but it did strike me as odd that someone who is 71 would get an organ - I know age is a factor in where you are on the list. Its possible he was really the only good match for the heart that was available - tissue type, blood type, size, etc. all factor into who would even be eligible to receive a given heart. I think what this case does show is that you have means and have excellent health care you're more likely to get some of these scarce organs. I understand that if you can show you can get to agiven facility quickly (like via your private jet) you can increase your chances at getting a heart by being on the list at multiple facilities. Someone like Dick Cheney does have some advantages in a system that is supposed to treat everyone equally against an agreed upon eligibility criteria. I'd hate to think that Cheney got a heart over someone who should have received ahead of him because he's wealthy and powerful, but by the same token I'd hate for this whole thing to become a big political issue - politics should have nothing to do with it. -
You need to check out the documentary "Hot Coffee" - it was on HBO. She was in the car, but it was parked. The burns she had were SEVERE - they showed pictures and it was disgusting. All she was asking for was medical costs but was ignored. When they dug into the case McDonalds had hundreds of burn complaints about burns that they had not addressed - they knew they had a problem but still instructed their restuarants to heat their coffee to an unreasonably high temperature - you could not drink coffee that hot and exposure to a liquid that hot for more than a few seconds would result in severe burns. McDonalds knew they were in trouble with this suit, so they unleashed the lawyers and PR machine to ridicule a case that had merit. Nobody actually bothered to look into the facts of the case and it became a the example of frivolous lawsuits - just what McDonalds wanted.

Boston's escaped Gorilla, Little Joe, was also pretty well behaved - when he got out he just hung out at the bus stop waiting for the bus. Of course the people waiting at the stop freaked out a bit when they saw a gorilla coming to join them (I can't even imagine what I'd do if I was waiting for a bus, looked up from my paper and saw a gorilla waiting there with me). The second time he escaped (yes - he did it twice) he was not so nice - bit 2 people before being taken down by 4 tranquilizer darts in a residential neighborhood.

In a cost saving move, the Bills delayed their press conference to announce new Defensive End Mario Williams until their new player was old enough to qualify for Social Security benefits, thus reducing the Bills payroll costs by $623 a month. -

Good Lord - the Bills must be the only team in the NFL that can't figure out how to setup a microphone and podium and hold a press conference....
