  1. Not the first message. All I did was drop him an e-mail suggesting he create a message board to fill the void left by the demise of the D&C Hyperbills board and I think I may have destroyed poor Scott's life in the process, so I guess I'll have to live with that for eternity.....
  2. I'd agree with this. The criteria might better be put as which celebrity to you like that is not usually thought of/cast as the "hot one" most of the time. I love Kristen Schall - think she's fantastic. She's not typically cast as the beauty but usually the funny or silly one. Her comedy and her characters (along with that voice) get me - I'd love to hang out with her.
  3. I've made some mistakes on the job before, but I'm happy to report that none of them ever caused an entire state to panic and caused the president to be briefed in the middle of his golf game - that is an epic level screwup.
  4. Hope he got a great price on the billboards - as much as I like the gesture of saying thanks and wishing us good luck I'd rather the money go to needy kids/families - it about them (not accusing the foundation of wasting money - just want to maximize the good they can do with the donations - we got our thanks when he threw that TD!)
  5. I guess i'm in the minority - I really liked it. When I was a kid I was never into the original series - of course I saw all of them in the theater when they came out, but I never really was a big Star Wars fan. Fast forward to having my own kids who are big fans of the originals and I've been sucked back into the franchise. Overall the movie was very entertaining and I like the mix of old and new characters. There were definitely parts I thought could have been cut - some of the minor story lines were really unnecessary and didn't add anything. On the other hand, a few scenes will no doubt become iconic to the franchise - there were a number of times where the audience cheered as I thought, man - that was awesome! As a graybeard I loved Mark Hamill - I was never a Luke Skywalker fan, but boy did I love his character in this film - possibly one of my all-time favorite movie characters - absolutely loved it.
  6. This is not only the worst Christmas song ever written, it is possible the worst song ever written PERIOD (although "Muskrat Love" about 2 swamp critters falling in love prevents me from declaring a clear winner). Christmas Shoes is the lyrical equivalent of any of those stupid, sappy, contrived Hallmark Channel Christmas movies, except they've cranked the sappiness up to 11 and coated it in sugar. Mama's gonna meet Jesus tonight? BARF! This song is so bad and so cliche I really wonder if someone tried to write it as some sort of joke and did such a brilliant job that people thought it was real - if the songwriter turns out to be someone from the Onion and it was all a joke it may become my favorite song, but sadly I think it is real.
  7. Teddy Cutler, huh...seems like a very common, unassuming name, the kind of name you might use to hide your true identity if you had a more recognizable name like, say, Jon Bon Jovi.....
  8. I grew up in Lewiston and going for fresh bread from DiCamillo's was an almost daily routine - man, I miss those days...
  9. Sadly these are the best, but not the only options for the Bills. I believe the most likely is that the Bills win a few more games and end up 7-9, this cementing our place in the middle of the pack for the upteenth year in a row.....
  10. No going back from this - Tyrod is done here. If Peterman plays due to injury or if the Bilsl are out of it then you can bring in a rookie and still go back to you vet as starter later - this is neither situation. This is a MAJOR decision.....
  11. Hey, wait a minute, that's not a REAL jelly doughnut.......
  12. $115 Million and no hounds? How can you possibly have a place like that and no hounds to release? Isn't that why you'd buy a place like that - just to say, "Release the hounds!"
  13. Back in the day the Rochester D&C ran the HyperBills message board that was pretty popular, but it didn't have moderators and things could and did get out of control. They tried to keep it going smoothly but at some point they realized the task was too big and that if they wanted it to run smoothly they would need to hire someone to be a mod and they didn't want to do that. They closed down HyperBills and a bunch of us were refugees. SDS was running TBD and it was they place to come for all your Bills news - did an excellent job of gathering links to all the different Bills stories out on the Internet. Scott spent the time finding things so the rest of us didn't have to - what a joy to come by in the morning and be able to go right to various news and opinion stories on the Bills! When HyperBills shut down I dropped an e-mail to Scott and suggested that he start up a message board to replace HyperBills - he already had a good volume of Bills fans coming to TBD on a daily basis - what could go wrong? Sadly, Scott took my advice and started TSW which I believe has taken over his life in some fashion ever since. Luckily there have been plenty of good people to help keep order along the way or I would feel personally responsible for putting Scott in an institution by now. Amazing to see what this place has become since it's start!
  14. Not only that, but it can snowing to beat the band in OP and NT is getting nothing at all - that's how lake effect works. I think perhaps the story was written by Buddy the Elf - "Tonawanda - that's a fun name to say"
  15. SLAYER Damn it would be funny to see people's heads explode and for all the right wingers to revive that whole "Heavy Metal is Satan and turning all the kids into satanists" crap from the 80s - it would make the current national anthem kerfuffle look like nothing. I bet Janet Jackson might also throw some money in because after Slayer opens with Disciple ("God Hates Us All") nobody is going to remember her nipple...
  16. You're kidding, right? By that logic Butch Rolle should be on the The Wall because from 1987-1991 he caught 11 passes for the Bills and 10 of them were touchdowns and the Bills made the Super Bowl twice in that period. Extrapolate those stats and the Bills would have been much better if they had thrown to him at least twice a game - imagine the points we would have scored!
  17. Glad it's only on Sunday Ticket here - I hate when it's on local TV and I'm forced to watch it there. Problem with local TV is that if someone decides the game is boring they can switch mid-game and you can end up with nothing (rare, but it has happened). Nothing like calling DTV and telling them that you want to watch the game on the Ticket and they have to stop the blackout because the local station bailed on the game - if you're lucky you'll only miss a quarter's worth of action.
  18. I have a good networking joke about UDP, but some of you probably wouldn't get it.
  19. Tree Fiddy? I ain't giving no tree fiddy you god damn Loch Ness monster! Get your own god damn money! (I gave him a dollar) She gives him a dollar! (I thought he'd go away if I gave him a dollar) Well of course he's not gonna go away now - you gave him a dollar he's gonna assume you got more! /South Park Reference
  20. I don't see how they can move this game up - it's Tuesday already and there is so much going on in the NFL as the season starts and so much going on in south Florida as people start preparing for what could be a very bad storm. Moving the game to the bye week isn't a great option, but it certainly is the easiest logistically - I'd be surprised if that wasn't the option they chose. Amazing that both teams had the same bye week and that this was even an option - I don't see how the league overlooks that great bit of fortune.
  21. It's all about potential. What we gave away has higher potential, especially Sammy, but will he ever live up to it? Look, if Sammy has the year we are all hoping for and he does it in a rams uniform it's going to hurt. Same with Darby - if he betters his rookie season but does it elsewhere it'll sting. If each of these guys plays like they've been playing and we disregard potential, then I think we got replacement players for them and picked up some nice picks along the way. That leads us to our second big question - can we turn picks into good players? Just because we have the picks doesn't mean that we'll use them on good players - some poor selections will wipe them out. So, you can't really say if this was a good or a bad trade until years down the road. For now I'm inclined to like it after the initial shock has worn off.
  22. I'm not a big draft guy or follower of college football but I know many of you are... How does the 2018 draft class look? Disregarding position, I know some years are pretty weak while others have talent all over the place - any feel for 2018? Draft picks are great but if its a weak draft, especially at positions of need for us then it might not help us as much as we'd like - just curious to see what you think.
  23. You see that smile? Damn that kid is likable, plays well, has a good attitude, seems genuine - hard not to root for a guy like that.
  24. April is rough though - how many bright clear days do we get in early April?
  25. RIP James Hardy - great leaping catch by a big receiver - was hoping to see so much more of that but fate had a much different plan - tragic to see how that ended up.
