oh damn, the first Friend down. RIP

I know what you mean, and I struggle to find the right adjective/description for it as well. There is a weird difference from what we are used to seeing in other places.

I wont be able to watch it until we win a SB. Same with most clips from the 90s, and especially The Four Falls of Buffalo movie. Can't/Won't watch until after we win. Maybe someday.

14 points is not a safe lead in this league nowadays. Need to be at least 3 scores up with 4-5min left before you can breathe easy. Great they scored out of the gate to start the second half. Otherwise we lose. Would have been nice to get into FG range any time after that is all I'm sayin.

Would you be for "Eye in the Sky" officiating?
DrDawkinstein replied to Royale with Cheese's topic in The Stadium Wall
My heart agrees with this, and that it's better for the game. I dont want robots calling Holding on every play. But man, the officiating lately has been killing me. To the point that I get frustrated seeing the refs so often even when it's against the other team. Just let them play. I think the answer is full time refs doing more group work to get calls more consistent. -
3 more points, any time in the 2nd half, and the game is over. Everyone can breathe. The vibe among the fanbase is totally different. 4 drives and we couldnt even get into FG range. Yikes.

Agree on everything, except the blatant PI. That happens on every Hail Mary, and it goes both ways. Refs know the Offense AND Defense are both jockeying for position. So very very unlikely they ever make that call. You simply arent going to avoid the contact on Hail Marys and luckily that is already understood.

They can get better play out of lesser players, but have trouble getting players with decent pedigrees where they need to be. Every player is different, and needs different things. I'm sure plenty of the blame is on Elam. But I dont trust McD much with his early assessments. Similar to the line "Sean McDermott is the type of coach who can take a bottom-5 roster to a wild card. But also the type of coach who will take a top-5 roster to the wild card".
-
McDermott's team has issues with basics like tackling with wrapping up, and blocking without holding. We are no where near the level of Reid and Belichick, who regularly quiz their guys with all sorts of weird, random situations, and who practice every situation.

I've been making "need 6 inches" posts since last night and someone FINALLY made a joke. You win.

Never thought I’d say this. Sean McDermott is a stupid coach.
DrDawkinstein replied to Beast's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's not inexplicable. It was obvious that it happened because Mayfield is so short, and Phillips had him long enough for the play to be whistled dead. But it was allowed to continue, and Mayfield kept squirming and ducking until his helmet was at Phillips's hand level. Much like how Mayfield was able to escape Floyd's sack earlier when Floyd went right over the top of him due to being so short. Im not going to bash JP on that one. It was a fluke. And the refs were giving the Bucs every chance on that drive so they could score and cover that -9.5 spread. -

I'll also add to this thought, I firmly believe Elam is a better player than the Bills have allowed him to be. And the coaching is doing more to ruin him than develop him.

If you're going to throw it short, you at least need a route that is going vertical to hope, at the very least, the receiver's momentum gets them the 1st. We're throwing short on crosses running horizontally that have no chance of turning up field. It's little crap like this, that should be basic *****, that our coaches miss. This is all so nitpicky by us fans, but it's also basic and obvious. -
"Josh Running" IS the added Offensive weapon we've been missing all season. Opening that back up is like adding a pro-bowl player to the squad.

Bills fans cheering for the Pats on Sunday?

I've been firmly in the camp that there is "enough" talent on this Offense. They just havent been used correctly, or AT ALL. And last night just proved that. Let Josh run. Get the ball to Shakir. Get the ball to Kincaid. Once Josh and the O get into a rhythm everyone plays better. Gabe makes catches he would otherwise drop. Etc. I dont get why McD wants to "punish" young players with whatever ridiculous criteria he has to "earn" snaps, but it's obviously holding the team back. Shakir should be a known name around the league by now. USE THE GUYS WE HAVE, SEAN.

Just heard that with the new, faster paced offense, the Bills had 10 more Offensive plays last night than they've averaged over the last few games. That is a full drive. That is the TD drive before half. Take those 7 points off the Bills and now we're losing the game and it looks way more like the Giants/Jags games. Dorsey/McD better not ignore this evidence and revert back to the slow-paced, 12 personnel BS.

Situational Football. Some coaches like Reid and Belichick drill their guys constantly with all sorts of random situations so they are never caught off guard. Our guy cant even figure out to sneak it when you need 6 inches. 🤷♂️
