We tried to win too. Elderly, absentee (or even worse, meddling) owners just cant get it done.

The problem with the Bears is one that Bills fans should be very familiar with. Their owner is 100 year old Virginia Halas McCaskey. They are stuck in mediocrity until the team is sold after her passing. And then a couple years to right the ship. Nothing will change until that happens, just like in our drought years with Ralph.

The Refs did a good job keeping the flags in their pockets in our Raiders game. Only 6 total flags thrown all game (as opposed to 19 flags in our Jags game, and 20 flags in the Bucs game). I'd take that every time. Even if there were a couple blatant holds that went uncalled. As long as they are going to let both teams play, then I'm good with it.

The real frustrating part is how inconsistent the calls are. Even during the same game, let alone same to game. They'll let guys "hand fight" with Diggs all over the field, but the second Taron touches a WR - FLAG. Then they give us a "make up call" on the next drive with some ticky-tack holding call against our opponent. Like that makes it better. But really just pisses off the OTHER fans as well. I didnt even realize this until you said it but now I'm remembering multiple instances of my wife and I high-fiving and being like "No Flags!". Disgusting, NFL. Disgusting.

When the Bucs got the ball back down 14, when the hot line with all the juice had them covering +9.5, I knew they were going to be handed every opportunity to score a TD. And sure enough, flag after flag after flag. MULTIPLE flags on drive ending plays. They get their TD. Mission Accomplished, Refs.

Yes. But it's not just on big plays. And it's not just Bills games. Seems like every televised NFL game is flag after flag after flag. Thursday night as the most recent example. I'm to the point where I'd rather not see any penalty called, even when they do deserve it. Or even on the team the Bills are playing! Just let them all play, even if it's on the dirty side. I cant stand "The Ref Show" the NFL is turning into where these guys in stripes are getting more air time than the players.

Steelers make dubious NFL history by winning last night

Their season is like our Giants game. I have a couple of Steeler fan neighbor friends, and it has been painful for them. But! They're ahead of the Bills in playoff standings. -
We could easily say had the Bills taken eve a FG there and then kicked off, our D holds the O to a 3 and out and then we get the ball back and score on the next possession anyways. We left points on the board that game based on dumb playcalling in a crucial scoring situation where the points are all but guaranteed as long as you dont get too cute.

I get that you have decided to make this your personal campaign, bordering on brigading. And you're at the phase where you feel the need to hammer it into any head that slightly disagrees with your stats as if you are going to change every mind... But you just have to understand that no matter what select and crafted stats you provide, a number of people will ALWAYS be philosophically opposed to running that type of play in short yardage situation. When faced with Down and Short (less than 3 yards) I will NEVER be on board with plays that send the ball backwards 3-5 yards first and take a while to get started. Especially when you have a guy like Josh Allen at QB. And now you're expanding your goal posts from "the 1 yard line" (title of the thread) to them being successful with it all over the field. Great. Run it on 2nd and 5 at the 45 all you want. That's not what we're talking about. Yeah bud, take a breath. Happy Friday. Go Bills.

Yeah I think the issue is being stuck paying even $11M to a guy who likely wont even be on the team next year, let alone $22.5M. If he was starting and serviceable, it wouldnt be so bad. But Raiders will be paying tens of millions of dollars next year to a bunch of guys who dont even show up to work at those offices anymore. Yikes.

Shotgun dart. Shart. Sounds about right. From now on, I will call that play the Shart.
-
I would think that the shotgun running successes have been Josh. He can GO right from the snap, no handoff hesitation, and has an extra blocker back there if there was a RB lined up. The passes from under center, I imagine, are largely play action, which has been successful for us all over the field. I'd love to see more QB shotgun runs and more play action passes down at the goal line. Still no to shotgun draws.

They didnt do it on 3rd and 4th and Goal for the TD. But then they ran it later at midfield for a 1st down. I'd rather they use it to put up points, but what do I know.
-
It's an injury guarantee. They owe him $11M guaranteed next year. If he were to get injured seriously this year, it would double to about $23M guaranteed next year. We've all seen their OLine. Benching him ensures he wont get injured and they are only on the hook for $11M. It's terribly structured and far too convoluted. Raiders have no idea what they are doing.

I agree, we should ONLY stick to QB Rushes when we're down at the goal line. -

Sorry to hear, my man. It's definitely not easy. As others have said, it just takes time. Which also kinda stinks because after a few weeks, I caught myself feeling a little better or at least not thinking about it constantly, and thought to myself "well, at least I'm starting to get over it and feel better", but then immediately thought "wait, I dont WANT to feel better about it, I want my freaking dog back!". And then put myself right back in to the funk. Which was fine because I needed more time. So dont feel bad about feeling bad about it. Dogs arent here for a long time, theyre here for a good time. So remember the good times. Know that you gave her a great life, and she was totally grateful. And now she can rest easy, like dogs love to do.

Are the Rams Beane's new Panthers?
-
I can deal with the team signing guys I dont like based strictly on their on-field play. It's the off-field scumbags that are tough to get past.

Not sure all those numbers are correct. Anyways, how about.... How many years into their tenure were each win? Andy Reid 1 in 6yrs, 2 in 10yrs Mike Tomlin 1 in 2yrs McVay 1 in 4yrs Pederson 1 in 2 yrs Harbaugh 1 in 4 yrs Carroll 1 in 3 yrs Based on those numbers, he's overdue. And 2021 was the sweet spot.
