If the Bears trade away Fields and pass up MHJ only to end up with another Mayfield/Goff out of this #1 pick then it's a disaster. As far as 4th quarter leads go, sounds like they also need to invest in Defense. Maybe get a new MLB.

Used to be. Used to be about how well a coach could convince players and their families that his program is the one to play for, and that the coach would look after their son. Now it's just the highest biding booster club. Thanks to the short-sighted NCAA, whoever throws the most cash, wins. But look how well that worked out for Texas A&M this year. Their boosters spent over $30M of their own cash to bring in the #1 recruiting class... only to finish 4th (out of 5) in the SEC West.

I had it down between Dallas and KC. Dallas for getting back there before we did. KC just because it's boring, here we go again. But then I saw Miami on the list and yeah, that would be most annoying. Especially after beating them twice in the season.

And drafting Bryce Young. Obviously, if they are certain they are ready to move on now, sure. But from my limited viewpoint, it's tough for me to pass up the talent they could add to the team over yet another shot-in-the-dark QB

MHJ is just too good to pass up, imo. Especially when you have even a half-decent QB. Plus, I'm not sold on Caleb Williams as such a sure thing. MHJ #1, the best OT at #9, then Defense the rest of they way. Maybe grab a Center in the mid/late rounds. The only argument I can agree with for picking Williams is it kicks the QB Contract can down the road a few more year as Fields is already going into his 4th year. But I think they can still pivot away from Fields before they have to pay him, and will at least have the foundation set for any other QB they acquire in 2026.

Happy I got to witness his coaching run. The end of an era. The end of the GOAT.

Part of the quality issue in the NY dispensaries comes from the rule in NYS legalization that any/all flower sold must come from within NYS. There is a similar rule for local distilleries. They have to source all their ingredients from within NYS. No importing potatoes from Idaho for your vodka. In theory, I like the rule. It's a good way to drive more business and jobs into the state and provide regional economics than simply reselling weed they get from California or a Mexican Cartel. But the rub is that all the grow houses are recently established and don't have those foundational plants and operating procedures down yet. While weed was legalized a couple of years ago, the dispensaries were only allowed to open late last year. The state had to figure out permitting (and how to make sure the permits only went to their cronies). Towns had to vote on whether they'd allow dispensaries. Etc. Lot of moving parts to allowing a brand new industry to operate. Especially when it is a Vice industry.

Yeah, he is definitely more in the Staley category than the Vrabel category. He didnt achieve any real success in Miami. Not sure what he does well. It would have to be a desperate team that hires him as HC. Like if Atlanta doesnt get moving on interviews soon!

While it is definitely a coaching issue, I'm not sure I can blame the guy thrown into the fire for not fixing everything on a poorly coached offense in less than 2 months. I give Brady the benefit of the doubt that those things could be addressed with an entire training camp/season at the helm. But also another reason I point out that McD must give up the DC position and go back to overseeing all 3 phases. He can point out missed opportunities without it being a harsh criticism. I'd bet rewatching that tape, Josh would tell you the same thing. He already said as much in his immediate post games that he had a lot of throws he like back and missed opportunities on plays. Doing basic analysis isnt bashing. The only way to improve is to look at that type of stuff.

Good call on the connection and OSU needing a change at HC. But I dont think Vrabel is cut out for College Football life, and the recruiting, and having to field an SEC-type team and passing attack while in the Big10 to stay competitive.

The TEAM and TALENT won that in spite of the coaching, or lack there of this year. Story of the entire season. Really the story of McD's tenure since 2019. Talent wins games until the game depends on a coaching decision, then we lose.

Oh he'll be back. And he's been a great DC. But this experiment needs to be over. Be a Head Coach and show some love to the Offense and Special Teams so all three units show up ready to play instead of just the Defense. Or take the demotion to DC and let Terry bring in a true HC (which I obviously dont see happening).

Bud Adams is a classless scumbag who liked beating the Bills after our Oilers Comeback game and Music City Forward Pass. Nothing more to it than rivalry and an owner who cant rise above it. And in this particular game the Titans blew us out so he was being a gracious winner and host and rubbing it in.

If I'm Terry then I'm asking him why I'm paying Head Coach wages for a DC and a rudderless team. Hoping for Babich if we stay in house.
