Who should coach this team in 2024?
DrDawkinstein replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall
In your personal, mediocre-loving opinion. We get it. Maybe they'll put him in the Hall of Fame for his regular season wins and 0 Super Bowl appearances. That happens. Right? -
Can we have a conversation about Diggs?
DrDawkinstein replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
Enough of this nitpicky, scapegoating BS when the issue is obviously at the top of the team. Stef Diggs is not a problem. As a matter of fact, I'd say if we had 22 Stef Diggs we'd have 2 Lombardis by now. Dude is a baller and a consummate pro who always shows up to play. Replace the coaching and let the talent win. -

What trophy do they give out for that? -
Coaching.

Too many losses already, and to too many teams we gave the tie breaker to. -

Belichick is done. His methods dont work anymore. He was blessed with the greatest QB, problem was it was for 25 years. Brady is Gen X. So not only did Belichick not have to adapt to Millenials, he has NO CLUE what to do with Gen Z players. Need a Mike McDaniel who can make dank memes over a Grandpa Belichick yelling at guys. -

We arent making the playoffs. At this point, our biggest battle is dealing with the Bengals getting a top 10 draft pick and stealing our WR. Clean house, promote Brady, see how it goes. We're likely losing out anyways. -

McD gets no credit for firing Dorsey. Dorsey didnt come with Josh from California, McD brought Dorsey with him from Carolina. McD hired him as QB coach in 2019 after Dorsey spent 2 year on the couch with no one else hiring him. McD is the head coach who made the OC hire (with the thumbs up of his franchise QB, nothing more). McD fired Dorsey to buy himself some more time in his own job. That is it. -

Still havent lost anything since they are defiitely wasted by sticking with McD. -

Your stats mean nothing. I watch the losses as they happen and McD is blowing it in real time. And there couldnt be a less precise stat to judge anything off of than overall wins and losses. That wasnt a reply to you. There were 2 posts quoted in that. Yours and another. -

Nervous about what? Not winning against the Cowboys in a couple weeks in a lost season? I dont think anyone is saying to make it a multi-year deal. But might as well make him interim now and see how it goes. McD's already blown the year. Two losers. -
The Bills have a lot of talent. It's even more obvious when watching other teams. But that talent hasnt been developed or used properly, and usually put in bad positions to fail, all by our play-not-to-lose Head Clapper. And Free Agents are always expensive overpays. It's a risk you have to take when rounding out the roster. And I give Beane credit for setting us up to go into each draft without a ton of holes, and with plenty of flexibility. Guys like Floyd, D Jones, Morse, McGovern, etc have all been worth their contracts. The GM aint the problem.

Season is done anyways. Why not? -
you've seen enough offseasons around here to know that aint true!

I'm not so worried about it. The Cap is a myth, and there are plenty of tricks and levers to pull. We'll be cutting a bunch of old contracts this offseason; White, Poyer, Morse, Harty, gives us over $24M alone. None of those will be too difficult to replace.

Now 4 since we restructured him this year and kicked more gauranteed money down the road. Stuck with him for 2 more years now.

lol some of these post-loss threads are wild.

Gabe Davis Miscommunication Plays this season
DrDawkinstein replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm in the minority but I'm not going to bash Davis on these one-off plays. He does a lot more good than bad, and is not even close to the top of our List of Problems. He was fine when he caught the go-ahead TD with 1:50 remaining, and just needing our D to get a stop. I dont think we should give him a big 2nd contract, but I'm not making him my whipping boy over these small things. McDermott has more than earned that title. -

He is literally the anti-Tomlin. The Steelers have nothing, no QB, still squeezing out wins and in the playoffs. McD has everything he could wish for and keeps losing dumb, close games because he doesnt know when to put a foot on the opponents throat. -

They arent put in positions to win. As evidenced by all the situational losses (having 12 men on a fg block, etc). As evidenced by the poor game planning (until Brady showed up for the O). Coach has to go. -

He's worse than McD. Out with the old and soft. Need some young gen z energy in the building. -

Slowick and Johnson are the more obvious options. There arent any Pedersons or Paytons hanging around anymore. I'm a big NO on Harbaugh, and I dont think Bienemy is making it out of Washington. I dont know anything about those guys personally, but I do know that McD is a loser, so I'll try anyone rather than waste another one of Josh's precious years on McD.
