Classic Beane move of getting pieces in place before the draft. The DL still needs work, and I'm sure we'll be drafting DT early. But we at least have a starting 4 in place if the ***** hits the fan and we cant get our targets. DT and WR in rounds 1 and 2 in whichever order depending who is available.

Love this signing, especially in the wake of Floyd's deal coming out
-
Rousseau, Kaiir Elam, James Cook, Dalton Kincaid, and O'Cyrus Torrence all say otherwise. All were drafted to fill big needs immediately. Beane even double dipped at DE and CB with Benford. Only Elam and Boogie havent worked out. This draft will HAVE to be about filling immediate needs because we have so many of them. As to the OP, I see us going WR in the 1st/2nd and again in the 4th/5th. Two picks and a couple mid FAs and we're good to go. Not that many balls to go around anyways.

Thought I just saw Gabe is 3/$39M edit: I did -
My man, I literally said "believe it or dont". No sweat off my sack.

Like where? Truly asking since I didnt give it much thought, and most teams are a worse situation than Buffalo. What good team needs him?
-
Numbers look like it would be very easy to cut him and move on. But you need bodies for camp, and some vet competition for rookies to get a good read on exactly where they stand. Just because we brought him back doesnt mean he stays, or that we are done addressing the position.

Good for Gabe
-
lol, who screamed at you, you poor little thing
-
And is there any scenario more scary or uncertain than an overpaid under-performer getting cut right as FA starts? Especially for a guy who was a walk-on in college, parlayed it to a 3d round pick, and parlayed that into a $52M contract which he has already earned $25M of? And especially as a TE in this market.

No one knows yet. Reasonable estimates would be saving $8-9M. Bring his hit down from $17M to $8-9M -

It will (likely) significantly lower his cap hit this season, which is why everyone has been calling for this extension for the last 2 months. Taron Johnson likely next. -

And thank goodness. Trading away a cornerstone LT for a chance at a guy who will just join a pool of possible targets is a great way to sabotage your team. -

Love to see it! -
Would never happen, but if it does, then you trade out of that pick.

Bro, dont do this all day. There is a thread for all these non-Bills signings.
-
He just did. Either believe it or dont. It doesnt matter. Like I said, pay more attention going forward if it's that important to you.
-
And it's not that painful considering we're talking about guys who are all multi-millionaires already.
-
No offense to OP, but are we going to do a separate thread for every irrelevant signing around the league? Or have one mega-thread for all the news? @Simon, @SDS?
-
You certainly could. But at 27 and already sitting on likely $15M cash, staying here on a well-run team with a great QB is probably worth that $3M, as opposed to landing on... the Raiders, let's say, and having a horribly un-fun year on a poorly run and coached team, with no QB. And then be out of the league in 2025. I'm always in favor of players getting as much cash as they can, but sometimes there is a bigger picture that will earn you more in the long run as opposed to just this year.
-
Just pay attention to posts? You're taking it a bit too seriously, especially because no one will ever reveal their sources, for good reason. He's our most reliable Red Zone weapon. And the Bills are something ridiculous like 20-0 in games he has a TD catch.

Happy has his connections at OBD. That's been established here. It's Buffalo. 2 degrees of separation at most.
