The move wasnt to take McConky. It was either trade whatever you need to in order to move UP and draft BTJ, or stay put and draft Worthy who at least gives you a downfield threat. If you really wanted to take BPA and best true football player at #33 overall, that would have been Cooper DeJean. Yep And while BTJ has shown to have his own "effort issues" he at least has the talent and ability to make up for the bad attitude. Plus, I dont think we see those issues in a different situation outside of Jax. jmo

I mean, there are plenty of posts all over the socials showing him half-assing it down the field. So it's pretty much undeniable. Then McD didnt stick up for him at all, and instead said it's "fair to ask". That is about as under-the-bus as it gets with McD. Josh's dead pan response of "he got one", paired with all the film of Josh not even looking his way when he was in single man coverage is about as bad as it gets out of our QB as well.

Do you think the Chiefs would beat the Patriots as a 7th seed?

If the Pats beat the Chiefs in the playoffs this year, I'm dropping a zubaz colored toaster in my bathtub. -

Why? Let them have the title. Holding on to "4 Times SB Losers" is not a flex. Good riddance. -
It was very concerning and a huge red flag for me when I saw some clips from the Field House earlier this year and they still had "Playoff Caliber" painted everywhere. I was surprised and disappointed they hadnt made the move to "Championship Caliber". Gotta keep striving to move forward, raise the levels. What worked to get us this far wont work to get us to the next step. But no. Same ol, same ol. And now "Playoff Caliber" is even at risk. His cap hit this year is $11M. For his production when healthy, he's worth that. He produces far more than anyone else I named in the previous post. But we could definitely add Milano to that list. Now next year, when Ed's number jumps to $24M, different story...

Cook wouldnt be over paid even if we gave him exactly what he asked for on social media. Samuel is over paid. Knox is over paid. DJones is over paid. Heck, Shakir is over paid in comparison.

As much as I dislike Brian Kelly, with the way the Governor and folks handled this, I hope he goes after every penny he's owed

Mecole Hardman, Come on Down! (Signed to Practice Squad)
DrDawkinstein replied to bills742's topic in The Stadium Wall
You're in luck. We're only one injury away from someone starting a thread about "Could Hardman help out on Defense? Hear me out" -
Yes, teams lose. Half of them lose every Sunday. That's not the point. Rams loss (wasnt this week) was 26-23 OT loss against a division rival. The Lions lost at home to the Vikes 27-24. Not a blow out. I can handle a close, hard fought loss against a division opponent. Both the 9ers and Vikings are talented playoff teams. Packers lost 16-13, and it was 7-6 at the half, again, close, hard fought game. None of the games you mention were blow outs where the clearly better team just failed to show up across all 3 phases against a weak and feeble division rival.

As much as I want McD gone, this just isnt true. He's very good at lifting a bottom team into being competitive and winning and finding a playoff spot again. He would be a great hire for Vegas, Carolina, Giants, Arizona, etc. It's the next level where he struggles. The leap from Playoff Caliber to Championship Caliber.
-
Maybe. Not sure how many of them have so many games that are total team let-downs so directly attributable to botched coaching/lack of coaching. The Cowboys laying an egg against the Packers comes to mind. And McCarthy isnt there anymore.
-
Need a whole separate thread for worst playoff losses. Which is telling...
-
As much as i dont want Belichick, the Bills and NOT the UNC of the NFL. More like if Bill took over Alabama or UGA.
-
Not surprising. It's in all these coaches and players best interests to be buddies instead of adversaries. Never know when you are going to need a job from whom.
-
Bama was a ground/pound with game manager QB and play defense school. That's how they won Saban's first few Nattys. Until halftime of the UGA game when Daboll talked him into handing the reins to Daboll/Tua, and they opened it up a high powered passing game, and the rest is history. None of the stuff Kiffin, Sark, etc did happens without Daboll pushing Saban into passing, and then pulling it off.
-
To the bold, you're missing the piece where he MADE Tua into a college star and completely changed Saban's outlook on how to run an offense. 👍
-
And exactly why McD would never make the hire.
-
Not uncommon, but far more common on the offensive side. From what I can remember, most defensive HCs transition into a true HC role and give the DCs way more flexibility than what we've seen out of McD.
-
Exactly what we've been saying about McD tho too
-
As long as he doesnt clap, I'm ok.
-
Oof, I'd take just about anything over McD, but I cant get on board with Belichick anymore. I dont think that gets us over the Vrabel hump.
-
It's a waste to do it this year. Too many different players since Daboll was here to be able to pick up a new, complicated system. Plus, I'm sure Daboll is fine enjoying getting paid to take the rest of the year off. Need to can McD and then try to bring him in next year.
