Falcons request interview with Joe Brady for HC job
DrDawkinstein replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
That's cool and all, until you look around at the candidates out there and find out Brady is one of the top options as it is. There's been such a rush to push Offensive coaches up the ladder and make them HCs that we're to the point most of the proven talent is gone and already in HC or OC jobs. -
Isn't This Game the Ultimate Referendum on Beane?
DrDawkinstein replied to Rich Stadium Original's topic in The Stadium Wall
Building a team to beat another team is one of the dumbest moves a GM can make. By the time you are built, that team and the game in general, has already shifted to something else and you are left behind. Just build the best F$#&in team of a$$-kicking football players and be the team everyone else needs to build to beat. Beane has already done his job and put together a talented roster. Now lets see what the coach does when the going gets tough. -

Is getting cut to $3M better than getting cut to $0M?

We'll disagree on the example. Would you say our Special Teams is well coached and playing up to expectations?

Trying to hire Rivera is a fireable offense.
-
So rare, but it happens to us. Classic.

I agree that it has improved since the bye, but special teams are still a mess. Letting the Pats open with a kickoff return TD in week 17 is just ridiculous. We're trying to be a playoff/Super Bowl team. We need more/better coaches, not this barebones staff. Terry has the money to bring it in, McD has to let go of the vine on one or the other.

They need to either hire a DC so Sean can go back to his real job, or he can choose to stay at DC and let Terry hire a Head Coach. There is a reason that the Offense and Special Teams units come out flat every game and the Defense is the only unit that is fired up and ready to play. 2/3s of the team are missing a Head Coach.

Shootout not required (first to 10 points wins)

I get that you are saying having the lead first helps. But what about having the lead last? How do the numbers play out on that? -
So... a Head Coach?

I'd love to see McD win the coaching battles of situational football decisions against Reid and Harbaugh (and Shanahan or whoever). We havent seen much improvement in that area even if the last 6 weeks. But fingers crossed that we see some steps in the right direction since it's that type of thing that determines wins in the playoffs. If he wins a Super Bowl he can do whatever he wants and I'll never question him again.

A big fat NO to Rivera. We need youth and energy. I lean towards Bobby Babich.
-
I thought he they were talking about Taylor Rapp and I was wondering how many fans he accidentally injured!
-
Joe Danna and John Butler may have something to say about giving their jobs away! Although we could have an open spot if we promote Bobby Babich or Eric Washington to full time DC. Would have to shuffle some chairs around.

I know this, you know this, we all know this. The problem is, the coach's grades arent published online for us to use in discussions and arguments. So we gotta start somewhere.

Who cares about Nick Wright?

Personally, I prefer Dugger and Douglas in the back, with Benford and Jackson/Rookie/Elam/Whoever at the other CB. Dugger and Douglas. Dug and Dug... there's a nickname or a joke there somewhere, but I dont know what yet...

Best Way to Get to/from Highmark From Rochester
DrDawkinstein replied to Irv's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yes, but not in weather. Helicopters are already a death trap as it is. -
That is the point of the video, yes. Allen has a 6 year history of running over, through, and around guys. Rarely avoiding contact. Rarely ever sliding even. There was no fake slide. There will be no fake slide.
