  1. They arent veiled, you got that part right!
  2. Every. Single. Interview thread has to turn into people crying about the Rooney Rule. Grow up, snowflakes. It's a pathetic look. Glad to see the Bills are interviewing for that spot at all, because it means McD is getting out of his own way.
  3. It's not you. Crayonz/4mer has been on this anti-pot warpath here for 20 years. Just let him do his thing, it makes him feel better. But dont expect a real conversation about it. I'm curious as to what happened in his past to make him like this. But really not that concerned.
  4. I stopped reading right here anyways. While I appreciate the detailed response, it's mostly a joke line to illustrate the complex mechanics behind the cap and the crazy amount of options and levers GMs have to clear up space. Of course those run out at some point or only make matters worse down the road.
  5. Funny enough he was an offensive assistant for us while Thad Lewis was playing 😆 I dont know that he has a better resume than Brady or even Lewis tho. edit: But I appreciate the research and suggestion
  6. Yeah, that's the only other one I've been able to dig up as well. Not a ton out there.
  7. That "qualified" question was to @Bangarang regarding what available candidates are better qualified than Brady. Nothing to do with whatever race rants yall want to go off about.
  8. Who would you like to see us interview that is better qualified? I guarantee Thad doesnt think so.
  9. For all we know we reached out to EB and he said "no thanks". I dont see him taking ANY interviews right now. So maybe he's waiting to see how everything falls into place. Additionally, as far as the search is concerned, we've discussed it in other threads, but there really arent a ton of candidates out there in general. With the acceleration of promoting Offensive coaches, it has pretty much created a talent vacuum in that pipeline. Any OC worth a darn is already a head coach. Heck, teams already started promoting QB coaches who never called plays directly to Head Coach (Zac Taylor, LeFleur, etc)! Outside of Klint Kubiak (another nepo case btw) there arent that many promising, experienced Offensive coaches out there.
  10. Exactly, thanks. I always find it hilarious that people go out of their way to post things here which only illustrate how little they've achieved in the business world.
  11. We unfortunately can't mention a single black person interviewing for a position without the usual cast of haters coming out, pretending to stick up for the candidate, by limiting their opportunities for growth and networking.
  12. This same bad, tired argument every hiring season. It is absolutely valuable to get interviewing experience and network-building opportunities. I've literally been through this a number of times myself. Interviewing for spots I didn't really have a shot at, but turned into a great opportunity to get on the radar of executives and surprise/impress them. When you approach it positively and graciously, it's a great experience and one of the best ways to build your career.
  13. Gambling stoned just means I'm more likely to never click the "Submit" button on my bets because I got distracted by some rice krispie treats. Now drunk gambling... well, that has built entire cities!
  14. Gambling is addictive and there are lots of people who struggle with this one. With the way gambling is being pushed on all of us, only a matter of time until higher profile people start falling victim. Expect to see more and more of this. Hopefully the league has ideas on how to help the players/coaches/refs who end up addicted. (Spoiler alert: it doesnt) For what it's worth, this is true of most of our jobs. It isnt our employer's duty to punish us for anything that happens outside of work. But if I do something work-related that directly affects the company's revenue or reputation, they will fire me.
  15. hahaha, dead man walking! he'll be fired by 2026 if not next offseason.
  16. Depth with reliable hands. I have to imagine he catches 1 of those Sherfield drops. 🤷‍♂️ Depending how cheap we can get him.
  17. Fielding a team that has only 1 DT, 2 DEs, and 1 Safety (Hamlin) on the entire roster would certainly be the defensive downgrade you are after. But we simply cant roll that out. It's not about upgrading the defense. It's about having a full starting lineup of 11 guys. 1 WR pick, then the rest have to be Defense. Unless you want to line up those 2nd and 3rd picked WRs as DBs.
  18. Only disagreement is on that early WR pick. I think most on this board understand, and are even in favor, of a very heavy defensive draft given our needs on that side of the ball. I also agree with going Safety->DT->DE. Heck, I'd say Safety->DT->DE->Safety->DB->DT. After our WR pick tho.
  19. Agreed. Even if I am in favor of having him stick around longer than some others may want, I think that restructure is one of the last levers on a long list of levers Beane can pull to clear space. Break glass in case of emergency. Otherwise, keep the flexibility.
  20. Bob Woods has a $9.75M cap hit and only $4.75M in dead money. If the Texans move on, could we bring him back cheap?
  21. "My friend banged on his door and then busted a window and yelled and announced her presence while she’s inside and still nothing from him? Then the cops come 10 [minutes] later and he comes out nonchalant in his boxers with an empty wine glass in hand??! Nothing is adding up. Dave, Clay and Ricky need and deserve justice.” I meeeeeeeean.......
  22. I'm not necessarily advocating for him to play out the contract. Just saying it becomes more justifiable when you combine his salary with the new #1 rookie deal, and look at the total spend across your #1 and #2 WRs. If we take a WR in the 1st round this year, from this class, and they are our 4th option for ANY amount of time, then McD and the entire Offensive staff should be fired. Most of the guys that will go early this class should be immediate starters, if not immediate #1 guys. If you want to slot the rookie in as starting the year as our WR2, just to make the transition easier (for both him AND Diggs), then fine. But whoever we are taking in the 1st this year needs to contribute right away, and should even have a better year than Kincaid had in '23.
  23. We do NOT need a #2 WR. We need a new #1 who pushes Diggs down to #2. That is the best way to keep Diggs here and afford to let him play out his contract (which we'll need to do on a dead money basis). Then as Diggs' contract expires in 4 years, we still have the new #1 on a 5th year option cheap before having to shift Stef's money to the #1's extension.
  24. He won a Super Bowl that year. His 4th year at the helm. He brought home the Lombardi. If McD had won a SB his 4th year in 2021, like he should have, he would have carte blanche to whatever ups and downs he needed over the next 15 years. Instead, he put himself on the fan's hotseat with his legendary contribution to Buffalo Bills Lovable Loser Lore.
