That, and the typical American view of mental health issues being perceived as "weak", when most of these guys (like Junior Seau) are actually just depressed because they get shut out from the only thing they've had in life at like 35 years old and dont know what to do next. I often think of when Frank Gifford passed away recently. He died at 85 years old, and there was a story soon afterward about how people wanted his brain examined for CTE as the possible cause of death. Umm, how about he was 8-freaking-5!! If anything that would prove CTE doesnt harm you. I agree it's a real thing, but I don't think it's as bad as people want to make it out to be.

Dont get me wrong, I wouldnt be upset if Beane got Clowney. But the question in the title is whether we think the Bills would make a run at him, and I dont think they will. Amazon got Good Omens right by making it a limited, 6-episode mini-series. They were able to keep every detail in the book so you didnt miss anything, but nothing more so it wasnt watered down. Starz killed American Gods and got it way wrong by trying to make it something beyond the book.

If you were a multi-millionaire in LA you'd do the same. Philip Rivers helicoptered to the Chargers facility every day since the team moved there. Probably saves 4-5 hours stuck in a car each day.

Cutting Star and Murphy so saving more like $9M total. And yeah, $45M-50M (25% of total cap) tied up in the trenches. Where better to spend? I'm more than happy dedicate 25% of total cap to DL and 25% to OL. Spend half our money in the trenches where every game is won or lost, and build from there. Where would you rather spend the money in order to do better? Our QB is still on his rookie contract for a few more years so that would be the only place left that requires huge money. Still plenty left over right now to bring in playmakers at skill positions on both sides of the ball. But start in the trenches.

All DL are rotational in our D, and rightfully so. Keep em fresh. Rotate Yannick out and Shaq in on running downs. And agreed with the previous poster, but signing Yannick and re-signing Shaq you are planning long term for when Hughes is inevitably released in 2021. If Beane does this right, our DL next year looks like: DE: Hughes/Rookie DT1tech: Harrison/Taylor(or Liuget) DT3tech: JPhillips/Oliver DE: Yannick/Shaq That's a Super Bowl caliber DL if I've ever seen one.

Folks have already done the long math and have shown that with our Cap Situation, it's possible to sign all of that, AND extend our guys, AND still have money left over for FAs. There are at least a few threads about it. Virgil made the original a while back.

I didnt mean that all 3 would equal Clowney, just that I'd rather bring all them back than worry about Clowney. $15M, $10M, and $20M still leaves us $45M in cap space. And it's a solid long term investment in a good spot- the trenches.

They have $90M in cap space. Now is the time they will shift into a higher gear and make a move. Maybe not as splashy as Clowney, but good money on Yannick (or the equivalent) should be expected.

Yep... And 3 years ago when Hughes seemingly hit the height of his penalties, he had 6 all season... Clowney had 13 that year.
