  1. I've wanted us to draft a WR in the 1st, but am extremely leery of any of the WRs slated to be available all the way at #22. So a trade for a proven player makes sense to me. Sounds better than having to package other assets in order to move up just to get an unknown rookie WR. I've also wanted us to dip back into the WR draft pool in the 4th or so, so your proposal would be perfect. Use that 4th on another WR. Get 2 WRs for the #22 pick. Sounds like a no-brainer.
  2. In light of other threads, I rescind my Yes vote in order to send the #54 overall to Minn for Diggs. I'd also like to re-sign McKenzie.
  3. Ah that's right, I stand corrected. Thanks. Could be an interesting way to sweeten the pot of our #54 overall offer... Good idea!
  4. That would be quite the coup pulled by the Bills considering Wallace is a UFA right now. ?
  5. All I know is it's been a long offseason already, and I'm ready for a Diggs thread to be the new Mario/Maclin watch!!
  6. Good points, and I'm not saying we have to give him a ton more money, but maybe simply shift some of what is already there as Base to Guaranteed so he feels better about playing over the next 4 years.
  7. I think Olsen looked at 3 different options: Washington - Closest to current Carolina home and familiar coach Buffalo - Up and coming and familiar coach Seattle - Far away and unfamiliar staff, but established team and QB I dont blame him for wanting to go to Seattle at this point of his career, where he can just mesh right in and do his job without having the pressure of bringing a young QB and still-forming team along.
  8. I assume if we trade for Diggs we would have to immeditately re-do his contract and get him some new guaranteed money. Exactly like we did with Shady. Frankly, this is all VERY similar to the Shady trade, and I'd say the Shady trade worked out pretty well for us. Alonso was a 2nd round pick so similar compensation. The need to re-do Diggs' contract. The type of personality which can be flashy and seen as selfish, but isnt really. The main difference I see is that Diggs is still in his prime where Shady was on the backside of it. He is not an AB. That is extreme and unfair to compare anyone to. He's a talented WR. Theyre all a little bit of divas, but our locker room should be built to handle that level of player. If McD can't handle a typical player like Diggs, then McD isnt a good coach. (IMO, he CAN handle Diggs)
  9. For all the "Process" folks here: If in year 4 our locker room cant handle a guy like Diggs, who isnt even that bad, then we have the wrong guys at HC and GM. The NFL is full of personalities. If McD cant handle a guy like Diggs, then it's time to fire McD. To clarify, I dont think McD should be fired and I think he CAN handle Diggs. So stop the hand wringing.
  10. I swore up and down this board for an entire offseason that Von Miller was too small and would be a bust. LOL. But I was right that Cam Newton would not bust. So I guess it's a wash. ?
  11. ah yes, agreed. I think there is a fairly substantial drop-off from those 2 or 3 to the rest of the class. But what do I know.
  12. Who are you referring to by "these 3"? Lamb, Shenault, and Higgins?
  13. Wasnt happy when we had to get rid of him, but don't want him back at this point. No thanks.
  14. Oof, this is a good question/thread. My general rule of thumb would say no, especially in a draft so deep at WR... but I'm just not sold on Higgins or Shenault. IMO, if we stay at 22 and assume we take Higgins or Shenault there, I'm also hoping the Bills take another WR later, like in the 4th round. So do we spend our 1st and 2nd picks on a top talent, or do we spend our 1st and 4th picks on "lesser" talent, but allow us to get another decent player of need in the 2nd?... Eff it, it's only February, I'm gonna get crazy and say make the trade. Just for Gugnys and Giggles.
  15. Ah, he was born in Houston but went to Miss St. The article I saw read like he "was a draft pick from Houston". And just sit on the other $70M in cap? Nah, go get $10M guys (who are worth it) and add some real talent to the team.
  16. I missed this. What is this???
  17. See my post on the previous page regarding the Haslams and how nothing will change for the Browns, no matter who they hire as HC or GM, or who they draft, as long as those schmucks are still in charge. It blows my mind that the team allowed Garrett to get in front of the media this week and not only talk about it, but to double-down and expand on it. The only comment should have been "We're on to 2020".
  18. From the article I linked... The outcome: Bertuzzi was suspended for the remainder of the season plus seven playoff games, totaling 20 games. Bertuzzi was charged with criminal assault causing bodily harm. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to one year probation and 80 hours of community service. Moore subsequently sued Bertuzzi and the Canucks, reaching a settlement a decade after the incident. The outcome: McSorley was found guilty of assault with a weapon and was sentenced to 18 months probation. The outcome: Ciccarelli was charged and convicted of assault. He was fined $1,000 and sentenced to one day in jail. We're talking criminal records and jail time. Even if it's one day, still. That would be pretty huge. Kudos to the NHL for not trying to sweep the bad incidents under the rug. Now, someone just got suspended for kicking another player. I always thought skates could be easily used as a weapon. Will be interesting to see what comes of that.
  19. The NHL players WERE charged. This happened at least a few times and they were charged and convicted. Back when it happened, I thought Myles had crossed the line to where he could have been charged. But Im sure there is no way Roger would allow that kind of bad press for the league. https://toronto.citynews.ca/2016/02/09/some-notable-on-ice-incidents-that-led-to-criminal-charges/
  20. If I could somehow merge Higgins and Shenault, I'd be thrilled. But I have questions on both. Luckily it's not up to me to make that decision. In Beane I Trust. I'm also interested in Thad Moss. Big body TE who can definitely go up and "Moss" people. Maybe Higgins in the 1st, and Moss later? Not sure where Moss is slated to go...
  21. The victimization is strong with this one.
  22. Maybe that's the wrong term for it. Either way, they just need to move on.
  23. Good work. I'm personally not that excited about Higgins since I think he's a bit slender and possiby injury-prone in the nfl. Does he have the strength to fight off NFL DBs and battle for the ball/
