  1. Bennett as a player, heck yes. But do his legal troubles keep him off? Agreed with removing OJ too. Just do it lowkey in the offseason without any fanfare.
  2. Dont make Kyle wait too long either.
  3. Not to derail to another subject, but since you are usually in the know, do we have a list of who those players are? Or do we only know of Ruggs and CEH so far?
  4. Looks like it is Solder. https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/positional/left-tackle/ While a $15M/year contract would move Dawkins into the #6 spot. That is just for now. I'd bet within a year or two he'd barely be in the top 10. So it all balances out over time.
  5. Thanks for the info and good points, gents. It's crazy how different the dynamic is when we are drafting so late instead of top-10 like usual. I keep forgetting to keep that in mind. However, that makes it all the more costly in order to move up too. @Lurker, to your point about trading up to 15-17... while I like it in theory, when I look at the values @section122 put together, I don't think I'm willing to trade our 1st AND 2nd to get there. Or even our 1st and 3rd frankly. 1st and 4th maybe, but that doesnt seem to get us anywhere. Although if Beane works some Free Agency magic and lands Ngakoue/Jones or the like, I would instantly feel better about dealing that 2nd rounder if necessary. Tough spot to be in. Still a conundrum...
  6. This is the toughest question we face this year. While I would never want to trade up for a WR, and folks talk about the depth of this WR class... IMO there is a big drop off from Jeudy/Lamb/Ruggs and the rest of the class. So do you burn 2 (or more) picks to get up and get a top talent? Or do you stay put but also use 2 picks on multiple WRs through the draft in order to hedge your bets, and hope to hit on at least one of them? I'm glad I'm not Brandon Beane.
  7. Weather and small market. Dude wants to be on a "Big Time" team. He's said going to the Cowboys really opened his eyes.
  8. That's like saying "She's my hottest cousin"
  9. I will post this every time a Cooper thread gets made (and this is my 4th time posting this)
  10. I'd be into AJ Green 5 years ago. But now... tough one. IMO, he will be completely ineffective and if he takes the right hit could even be a mid-season retire.
  11. Well in that case, WHY ARE WE STARTING THIS DISCUSSION SO LATE?!? Mods asleep at the wheeeeeeeel!!
  12. The only good that would come of that would be we couldnt damage our playoff standings with so many (bad) wins against the NFC.
  13. Starting early this year with this discussion, eh?
  14. Cousins has a fully guaranteed contract in Minn, if I'm understanding what you mean.
  15. The players should be paid relative to what the league makes. They are the ones performing on the field, they are the ones putting their bodies at risk. No one is paying to see the owners sit in boxes. The owners make enough and have a solid investment. As long as NFL revenues are as high as they are (and growing), so should player contracts. Easy as that.
  16. Coming out of today's powerhouse Clemson too. Yeah. Definitely a 1st rounder at least. Except both of those backs were power-runners, and Spiller was a different type of player and exactly what Chan wanted in his spread offense. If anything, they made him a top-10 pick based solely on the idea of need.
  17. Moulds would be the easy choice, but Im almost positive he made the playoffs.
  18. Aaron Schobel, maybe Mario. IMO, as much as I love him, Freddie is a wasted choice since RBs are a dime a dozen.
  19. I think it has more to do with drafting so late. It's tough to predict who may even be realistically available and who we may realistically even want.
  20. Along those same lines, I just saw this graphic today too... I think the "Not Pictured" at the bottom versus the amount Washington and Buffalo show up pretty much seal our point for us. But I do agree we with the "yet" part, we are definitely on our way there...
  21. Dont forget about 2nd rounder Limas Sweed before that as well.
  22. That's fine for the first few years of a complete rebuild, but once you have pieces in place (franchise QB on rookie contract, a ton of cap room created by cutting the previous regime's talent, etc), you absolutely look to sign some big talent even at high prices. And to the contrary, Beane threw $11M+/year at a CENTER last year in Free Agency, so he is absolutely willing to spend when it's right. We have $90M in cap, and can sign anyone and EVERYONE we need, along with extensions for our own guys. We bring in Diggs, we still have ~$75M in cap space to work with.
