  1. We had all of this and more ready to go as of January 2017 from lessons learned in the H1N1 crisis.
  2. I'd just like to take a moment of remembrance to honor the victims of this Coronavirus (thread). Namely, me and DC Tom. ? Just goes to show, no one is safe or immune.
  3. I'm late to this party, but gonna throw my two cents in anyways... This is the first move that has me turning skeptical on Magic Beane. For everyone afraid of re-signing Shaq or JP because they only performed in contract years, this signing is even worse since Butler has been a BUST and barely even performed in his contract year. Sure, he did "better" than previous seasons, but it still wasn't that good. Plus, he already has off-field issues. So not sure how this is better. Especially given that we're paying him on par with what Shaq and JP got. It's not like we brought Butler in at $4M/year. We're paying him Shaq/JP/Star money. And to pile on, he plays a position where our roster is already full. With Addison replacing Shaq at DE, and Jefferson replacing JP at 3-tech DT, Butler will be battling to get into rotation with Star and Harry at 1-tech DT. I guess this means we'll see one of those 1-tech DTs traded as Beane likes to do. That is the only part of this deal that I can get behind. But right now, it seems like we're just throwing lots of money at Beane's Carolina guys. Which, btw, it's not like Carolina has had the best D in the league (or even close to being as good as ours has been), so I'm officially sick of the Carolina signings. Time to find talent elsewhere.
  4. Good point, thanks for mentioning that. Looking it up, it's still an $8MM price tag this year, and will either need a new contract or whatever we send in trade compensation gets wasted on 1 year. Even if Jags have to eat the $4MM bonus amount, still nah. JMO. It's weird. I loved Fournette at LSU, but have hated him as a pro.
  5. No. Snag a RB in the 4th or later (even UDFAs). That is not the position to waste resources on. WRT Fournette specifically, bad attitude and high price tag and banged up, so definitely not.
  6. South Korea already had an entire successful testing infrastructure designed and built before COVID even hit the US. All we had to do was copy them and expand on it. But nah.
  7. He is a ginger, so already a +1 in McD's book
  8. Still mad at Thurman for signing there tho
  9. But Trent has almost no dead money. I know I, personally, would rather pay Shaq and cut Murphy and keep the money about the same (maybe a $2M spend)
  10. Yes, that's an overall average. But when you look at the real numbers and add base salary and bonuses, his hit this year is $9.775M https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/buffalo-bills/trent-murphy-14456/
  11. Side note: This really isnt as big a deal to players as us fans make it. They pay state income tax for where ever each game is played. So at best it's a 50/50 savings. Plus, almost none of these guys are looking that deep into the numbers. We're paying Trent Murphy $9.775M this year.
  12. Ironic, given your avatar ? And I agree. The window is now while QB is still on rookie deal.
  13. That's kinda BS. Theyre in good cap position now because they cut a bunch of the last regime's talent and big contracts. Doesnt mean we should NEVER sign a big contract. Plus, they made Morse the highest paid Center last offseason to land him and keep him off the Jets.
  14. $10M/yr is about right, and would rather have him at $10M than Murphy at $9.77M
  15. This is actually believable, especially when you look at what he did last year with the trades.
  16. We got that busy airport, and so many large companies that bring people in and out. Without any panic or drama, I'm pretty sure it has already swept through most of Atlanta. Would not be surprised if my wife, daughter and I all tested positive given the cold we've all had for the past few weeks. Luckily we arent at risk for anything much worse.
  17. Texans HC being pissed at the GM for trading away the best Offensive weapon... I would be SHOCKED if Blank allowed that trade, but with what we've seen so far, I guess nothing should be too surprising.
  18. 121 confirmed in GA as of today. Most right near us too. But that's probably where most of the testing is happening too... https://dph.georgia.gov/covid-19-daily-status-report I wish they were tracking and reporting the number of tests too
  19. I thought Reader is more the big body, NT, 1-tech guy who would play in Star/VTaylor/Liuget's role?
  20. Hard disagree. He's a great fit in that we have a rotational line and need another talented 3-tech DT to rotate with Ed. Ed is on his rookie contract, as is our QB, and we have $80M in cap space, so plenty of room to sign JP. There is no better place on the roster to invest resources, and even over-invest, than in the trenches. And our OL is pretty much set. What are your several reasons against that I'm not thinking of?
  21. Not sure BOB would have traded him in-conference. Plus we dont have a stud RB to offer. Bummer.
