Good. But that is mostly because those business have been ordered to close. Not because folks took the personal responsibility. I think we both know that if those places were open, people would be out. I'm not arguing against you, just more discussing human nature, and moreso... Americans. There's a link in the upper-right of every post that says "Report Post"
-
This is obviously the most ideal approach. But what do you do when millions of Americans choose to ignore that order because "freedom & liberty" and keep going out anyways? Especially with the mixed messaging we are getting from leaders. I dont think any of us want a Wuhan style lockdown. But if people dont start taking personal responsibility, theyre gonna have a bad time.

Olympics are postponed because athletes are unable to train RIGHT NOW. And they can't just push it back a couple of months, they have to skip to next summer. Luckily, the NFL still has a couple of months before any regular training activities are set to start. I think they'll be able to stay mostly on schedule. Side note: Now that I think about it, one of the best ways they could get all the dummies to start taking this seriously and just stay inside for the next 2 weeks, would be to announce "If the public doesnt get this contained soon, we risk having no football this fall". Maybe that would wake them up.

He left a vmail for DiMarco's agent around 11:30pm last night, and they let the office know they were accepting the paycut this morning. Beane will have to sign the papers when he wakes up tonight.
-
"Would you rather take a cut and still make $1.3M here? Or be released and try your value on the open market?" Up to the player/agent to decide from there. Seems like a no-brainer for both sides in this case.

Dwindling cap space. Gas tank on Empty
DrDawkinstein replied to Inigo Montoya's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
My point is that it takes two to tango. We dont know that Beane hasnt tried, and Tre's agent has said "Thanks, that's nice, but we'll wait to see what the market looks like in a year". Once that happens, any further pushing or offers by the Bills is simply negotiating against themselves and bad business. I would love to see an extension done sooner rather than later too. But it's not a matter of simply making an offer in order to make it happen. -

Oh, it's that easy as the team deciding to do it? -
That's not freedom and liberty. It's selfish, entitled, narcissistic arrogance. I'm not talking about whatever at the beach. I'm talking about people using this warped idea of "freedom" so they dont have to temporarily change their lives in even the slightest way when it would mean saving lives and saving potentially trillions of dollars. Going out the bars, restaurants, vacations, etc. Then saying "This is America!". Sure is. But if you do want to talk beach, there were plenty of reports the last 2 days from Florida beaches showing Spring Breakers not following guidelines AT ALL. Adults and families, not just college kids. That isnt Liberty. It's sociopathic entitlement. Unfortunately, these folks with no sense of community or empathy end up being the poster children for why that "freedom and liberty" may not be such a good idea anyways. If they can't take personal responsibility in tough times, well then... If you see someone on your walk, just cross the street. Not that hard. No need to be extreme about it. It's never windy at the beach! We call that "Freedom Air"

He's hardly the only player to have issues with the way the Chargers treat their players.

Yes, O has needs, never said it didnt. But I also think theyre expecting the young TEs and RT to develop (which is reasonable). And they already addressed WR, and will still prob add another WR and RB in the draft. I just think the Butler signing is a head scratcher at that value.
-
Saw a stat yesterday that said "Now that Todd Gurley has been released by Rams, NONE of the RBs from 2015 draft are still on their original team"
-
Ehh, we dont really have the holes or need on O that we do on D, with players leaving in FA and the way we run rotation. So I can see the imbalance in FA. We went heavy on Offense last year in FA. I do expect us to draft heavily on Offense. But that Butler signing is a head-scratcher for me, especially when compared to other players we could get at that price.
-
Funny we feel that price is too steep for what would be a starting Offensive weapon. But doled it out to a bust rotational DT. I dont want to pay RBs either, but...
-
Interesting seeing the numbers I'm against paying RBs high salaries. HOWEVER, when thinking about pay vs contribution... we're giving Butler (a BUST) $8-9M/year for being a 3rd-in-rotation DT. I'd think Gordon would contribute on Offense more than Butler on Defense. If I had to pick between the two, I'd pick Gordon.

For now, being March. But come August, we need a Kicker.
-
Beane is smarter than to reach for need that early, especially given the current build of the team. I'd list Kicker as a bigger need than RB2
