  1. That wont get it done. If he is solid/good, would you agree he is mid-range? As in the 16th best LT in the league? If so, and you want to sign him to a long term (5 year) deal, it will need to be at least around $15M/year. Which seems high right now, but in 2 years will be the middle tier average of LTs. Mitch Morse got $11+M/year and hes a "decent" Center. We're talking LT here.
  2. I doubt he gets exactly what he's looking for from the Jags, but I also think his price tag will be slightly lower for anyone not the Jags. Not sure what is going on with Clowney. Whether its the penalties or the injury history or what. It's a little different situation with those factors.
  3. Are yall seriously that dense, or just that desperate to find stuff to hate people for? He isnt complaining about $18M as a general figure. He's comparing it to the $120M he could make on the market with a long term deal instead of a 1yr where he risks injury, and the freedom to choose where he works. We all know HE isnt the cancer in the Jags org. That is Marrone and Coughlin who have successfully run off all their talent.
  4. Classic TBD. Somehow turning a bash-Eric-Reid thread into a bash-womens-team thread while they're at it. Almost like there is a theme there. Anyways... Good for Eric Reid for being willing to stand up for former players.
  5. Where is he asking for sympathy or talking about a plight? Dude just wants to leave his current employer. Something we all get to do if we want. Money isnt the issue here. It's being held hostage and forced to work for aholes. Free Yannick! I'd send 2020 2nd and 2021 2nd. Get r dun.
  6. What's his $$$ ask look like?
  7. Great dude, and developing nicely at LT. Get him extended!
  8. Interesting to see this this morning. Thanks to billsfan89's question, I spent some time going through past drafts last night and had determined basically the same thing. Being in the heart of SEC country, I was lucky enough to be able to see almost all of LSUs games last year. I havent seen a performance in college football like that since Tebow (who, regardless of his NFL days, will always be one of the top college football players of all time). The main difference being that Burrow is also a prototypical NFL passer, and was making money throws all season. He put up over 5000yds and 60 TDs against SEC defenses (this isnt the Big 12 we're talking about). Giving him the 2019 season, Burrow was the top prospect in every draft all the way back to 2012 with Luck. And even then, Luck never had a single season as a dominant pure passer like Burrow just had. 2019 Burrow basically doubled Luck's best seasons. But looking at past drafts, 2019 Burrow definitely goes ahead of Murray. He'd be ahead of Darnold and Mayfield, both of which were drafted more on potential than anything they did in college (imo). Definitely ahead of Trubisky. Ahead of Goff and Wentz. Ahead of Winston. I wont even bother with the QBs of 2014 and 2013. And that gets us to Luck. I may even dare to say he's a better prospect than Luck. Or at least equal for different reasons. Lot more tape on Luck, but Luck put up less numbers, took way more hits, and never even came close to winning a Championship, let alone a playoff tourny Championship. Folks can say he only did it one year, but he was buried behind a guy who now owns 25 passing records at Ohio St. so not really his fault he couldnt win a chance there. And his first season at LSU was hampered by LSU's old school run-first Offense. The moment they brought in Joe Brady, and turn Burrow loose, they were set to make history. And if you want to go past 2012, I'd venture to say he would have gone before Cam in 2011 (and I'm a big Cam fan), and before Bradford in 2010. So yeah, best QB prospect in over a decade.
  9. So then $15M/year to Dawkins sounds about right (for those that thought it was too high).
  10. I hear ya, and totally agree with their ability to find loop holes (or create their own and have the league just play along), but looking at their roster cap-wise, I just can't imagine even a cheating way to pull this off. They'd have to move Hightower and Cannon just to be able to afford a Fitz or a Tyrod. I love it.
  11. I dont get it either. Not big on Herbert myself, and agree Tua is a mystery and gamble at best. If Burrow had the same 2019 season under his belt, he is the #1 prospect in any of the last 2 or 3 drafts. He was stuck buried on depth charts before the move to LSU, and even in his first year at LSU, they didnt have the Offensive coaching needed to utilize his talents. That's not saying he needed any special Offense crafted for him like Lamar Jackson in Baltimore. Just that LSU never really passed the ball previously, and had no idea what to do with an NFL passing QB. Enter Joe Brady as Co-OC, and the rest is now history. The fact that Miami may not even get Tua or Herbert and have to settle on the 3rd tier QBs like Eason or Fromm is even sweeter. Can they afford him? Pats have $1.5M in cap space, and Carr makes $20M+/year. So no they cant. Not sure they have anyone they can even cut to clear space for him. Delicious.
  12. Yes, they had such great football character that they couldnt even hold themselves back from over-partying before the biggest games of their lives, which was a major factor in our first 2 Super Bowl losses. And from all reports, Diggs has excellent football character as it comes to his dedication to the game and winning.
  13. Hahaha, pretty well acted too for a viral vid.
  14. As much as I hate to say it... In fairness to BB, when you are drafting at 30-32 every year, it can only be so good.
  15. The extreme to which history has been rewritten regarding our Great 1990s Team is unbelievable. Folks think they were all perfect team players and angels off the field. When in reality, it was simply the lack of social media and 24 hour news cycle that saved those players from scrutiny. Bruce and his DUIs and coke problems. Kelly's drinking and hitting women. "The Bickering Bills" pointing fingers at each other. Kelly and Reed fighting over the same girl. Reed was often a selfish diva, and more than once threatened to leave the team. Bennett has done time for rape. Thurman was a HUGE ahole back then (worst encounter I've ever had with a pro athlete, and I was only a 12 yr old kid). Yall really need to reset your views of those old players. They were not choir boys or selfless team players. But winning cures everything. So when we win with Diggs, get over it.
  16. It's not really disingenuous as the tweet is talking about what they are investing in players who will actually be on the roster. Removing the dead money creates a much more accurate picture as to what the team is investing in that position for on-field return in 2020. If anything, including the dead money is an even bigger knock on those teams since they arent getting anywhere near $15M worth of QB play. My favorite part of all this is that Miami tanked last year, traded away all that talent, are sitting there with 3 1sts... and STILL might not get a shot at any of the top 3 QBs. Burrow, Tua, and Herbert might all be gone by the time they get a chance to pick.
  17. Last year the Panthers stuck him at LG as he returned from a season-ending knee injury. Maybe he wasnt used to going against DTs inside, or maybe he wasnt used to picking up the inside blitzes. Tough to say since Carolina's Line was a mess across the board. His first few years, and his banner year in 2017, he was at RT. So we'll see. I'm more skeptical about the Butler signing and the money we gave him considering he has been a complete bust for Carolina.
  18. I'd be happy with Perine in the 3rd (or better yet the 4th), but not sure the Bills can afford to wait that long if any of the top guys are still there at 54.
  19. I'd also interested in which RB prospects are also good Receivers. Coming out with Diggs/Brown/Beasley, Knox at TE, and a RB gives us the option to split out 5 wide and catch the Defense in a mismatch, or choose to run it if the D decides to play the pass.
  20. If our biggest concern is potentially drafting a RB who is so good he takes time away from Singletary, or even pushes Singletary to the RB2 role, then I'd say we are in a very good spot. That's a great problem to have. I am generally against taking a RB early, and would still never take one in the 1st round. But given the way our roster is currently built, if there is a top prospect available at 54, I'd be happy if Beane took him. I'm all about adding weapons to the Offense.
  21. I can agree with that simply based on a Flores vs Gase comparison. Jets have more talent, and a far better QB, but Gase will ruin it. And with all of Miami's picks, they could match the Jets talent level pretty quickly if they draft right. I for one, would not mind a return to the 90s, with Buffalo and Miami competing for the division every year, with Jets kinda ok, and New England sucking.
  22. I'm still getting a good laugh at Miami though. Already having the highest paid CB on their roster, and then adding another guy (who isnt that great) and making him the new highest paid CB. That's a lot to have invested for a crappy team.
  23. I'm generally against taking RBs in the early rounds, but given what Beane has done this offseason, and after seeing the investment in DBs in the division, I'd love to get another talented RB and then negate their investments by running the ball down their throats.
  24. He has one paragraph expressing concern for his brother, and then talks about Disney movies and donating money to help people. You only see what you want to focus on because you got triggered. Great job.
