  1. The fact his videos dont make people cringe-quit in the first 30 sec means he's already ahead of the game.
  2. With the way Beane has the roster situated right now, almost any pick can be seen as a luxury pick. We arent desperate for any starter. Anyone and everyone we pick this year will be depth. If they happen to beat out a vet for a spot this year, that is just bonus. A DE will be fighting for time behind Hughes, Addison, Murphy, and maybe even Johnson. A RB will be splitting time with Singletary, and maybe even sharing with Yeldon. Etc etc
  3. He's back with another video, and just as good. ?
  4. Start? Next year maybe, when both Beasely and Brown become very cut-able, and doing so would free a lot of cap space. But they could get playing time this year as well. We run a lot of empty backfield sets. And with the way this class looks, anyone we get in the 2nd-4th should easily be better than McKenzie/Foster/Duke/Roberts
  5. Yeah but that was the Jeff Fisher Rams. Im slightly more interested to see how McVay runs his program. Slightly.
  6. No, this is technology and functionality that has been around for a decade. Draft boards are pretty much already set. This isnt rocket surgery.
  7. Which players have come off the Practice Squad in the last 4-5 years and have contributed to the team?
  8. True, but I'd say they are also building through the draft. They simply havent had enough picks to build a team with yet. White, Dawkins, Harry, Milano, Allen, Edmunds, T.Johnson, Oliver, Ford, Singletary... those are all core players. OL, DL, QB... I'd also point out that a handful of UFAs they brought in were Beane draft picks, just through a different team. Addison, Star, Butler, Klein... The good news is they are hitting pretty well on Draft Picks. At least 3 or 4 per draft, which is above average drafting in the NFL.
  9. Zay wasnt Beane tho And 2018 was an anomaly year, imo. We were STACKED with picks and it was the 1st draft of Beane's tenure where he needed to get a Franchise QB and "Franchise QB" of the Defense. Regardless of how Allen plays out, he was the right pick at the time, and Beane did what he had to in order to land him. With the roster as set as it is, and where we are drafting, I dont expect any splashes. (Although, that probably means Beane will pull a Ditka and trade all picks to get back into the 1st, get 1 player, and be done. lol)
  10. Beane doesnt trade up in the same way Whaley and other GMs do. He has flipped bubble players into late draft picks, and packages those new picks together to move around and maneuver when and where he needs to in order to get his guy. Wyatt Teller for a 5th and 6th?!? Russell Bodine for a 6th?!? From the Pats no less! All of those picks become expendable as maneuvering assets, and better used to ensure he gets his guy than just adding camp fodder who wont make the team anyways. I dont think we're talking about packaging 54 and next year's 1st to get back into the 1st. Yeah, I made that up without the value chart handy just to make the point, haha.
  11. I could see him standing pat at 2 and 3, and then packaging our 4th, 5th, 6th, 6th, and 7th to move back into the 3rd. Get 3 quality picks who actually have a shot at making the team AND even contributing this year. After the 4th, I dont think there will be any talent there that could supplant current starters, or even current veteran depth.
  12. The way Beane has the team setup right now, I'm fine with BPA regardless of the position. Whether that's a RB, WR, Safety, CB, or even Kicker. I dont really have a positional preference at 54 or 86. Tough to compare the Diggs acquisition to a rookie there. But if we didnt pull off the trade, and didnt sign any FAs, I wouldnt be jumping off the roof if Beane went WR 1 and 2. Again, not a lot of glaring needs to make me worry. I think the love of measurables was pretty well supported last year when there were a handful of times our Smurfs couldnt get open, or couldnt make a play on a well-thrown ball, because of their stature. The Baltimore game for certain. Good chance we tie it up on that pass that Brown got out-muscled on. I'm not pounding the table on any of this, just playing devils advocate, and saying dont get too upset with however they go. We're finally back in a spot where us fans can sit back and just enjoy the ride and let Beane drive. Should be fun to see play out.
  13. Beasely and Brown are very cut-able after this season, and would save the team a lot of cap space to be used elsewhere. WRs usually need a year to develop. This would set us up for the future. I voted RB, but just sayin...
  14. "PER MY PREVIOUS EMAIL...." ?
  15. I dont disagree. And if that's truly the case, then Flacco isnt that guy. He isnt the buddy-mentor type guy that Barkley is.
  16. I was pointing out the sex offenders report ?
  17. If we could get Dion for 4/$57.5M ($14.375M avg), I dont think that's overpaying much even for a mid-tier LT. Especially in another year or two. If anything, I'd like to see if we couldnt add another year and do 5/$73.75M. A starting LT at >$15M in 2023-2025 would be a steal.
  18. All else being equal, you go with the LT. Then add in Dion's personality and how that will translate to being a leader in the locker room the longer he is here. Seems to have the work ethic too. No knocks on Milano personally, but he does have an injury or two already. Dion.
  19. Eh, doubtful, and rightfully so. He'd be better thought of by the fans, but the entire FO needed to be rebuilt with the Pegulas taking over and wanting to change the culture. That's tough to change if you keep people from the bad times. Even if they did their job well. As much as I liked Whaley, I'm happy the did a wholesale change over and brought in Beane. The entire aura in the offices at OBD needed to change, and to do that you need to exorcise all the ghosts.
  20. It isnt giving him much credit. Most GMs know what the next class is looking like, and usually even 2 classes out. I specifically remember talk from that weekend out of the Bills that they werent thrilled with the way the 2015 was looking, so it made it easier to make the trade. Might even be able to find articles that show the quotes (although it seems most have been archived from my quick googling). Yes, getting a WR for his QB was the main part of it. But the looks of the 2015 class made the decision easier. Whatever you think about his all-around GM abilities, Whaley and his team were great scouts and always had a good idea of what the next year's class looked like.
  21. The lack of talent in the 2015 class was one of the reasons Whaley was more comfortable trading away that 1st in order to move up in 2014. Folks saw that stinker class coming miles away. Too bad he didn't pick Mack in 2014 like he should have.
  22. Just a heads-up, looks like SDS is having issues with the board after an upgrade has gone wrong. Should make your job even more... interesting, Virgil.
  23. Report sounds about right for that address...
  24. Oh, Tom's thinking of the children all right.
