Karlos Williams making a comeback
DrDawkinstein replied to chris heff's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If you look at how Ralph handled Knox and Saban, I'd say that dysfunction was always there. We somehow avoided it for a decade, but then it came back and Polian was ousted. The rest after that is Ralph being typical Ralph. -
To paraphrase Karlos Williams... Jalen Ramsey can eat a dick. Jalen Ramsey can die in a hole and drink bleach. I’m dead serious.

Karlos Williams making a comeback
DrDawkinstein replied to chris heff's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would say outside of a decade in the middle of his ownership where he got LUCKY with a GM and Coach he didnt run off (immediately), most of his ownership was failure. The Bills sucked through the 70s and early 80s. Were good for a decade in the late 80s to late 90s, and then went back to their typical sucking because Ralph valued RBs over QBs, and didnt know what a competent HC looked like. If we're being real here, since the merger, the Bills are a bad franchise with one good decade in the middle. Hopefully that changes with the new ownership. (Or is that the Propaganda Machine?) -

Get over yourself No, I'll call them what they were. Ive never said he was 100% perfect. But yall talk like he was an abject failure, when he did some good things, especially given the circumstance he had to work with. -

It's nuts. None of us are saying the dude was great. But we try to temper the hate with some real examples and say hey maybe he wasnt the worst of all time (and not responsible for a 20 year drought), and they flip out and call us "apologists" and talk like they love the smell of their own farts. -

When a team hires a 70 year old guy as EVP/GM and the first thing he does is bring in an up-and-coming young exec from the Steelers and names him Assistant GM, and talks about how he's already grooming the young guy to take over, I'd say it's fair to lump their personnel decisions together. -

Yeah, Im bored being quarantined, but not bored enough to deal with the revisionist history that goes on around here. Onward and Yonward. -

Whaley was officially titled Assistant GM at the time, and was the one who scouted AW, Bradham, and Searcy. -

And it's not like he was so enamored with EJ. He traded DOWN before settling on EJ, and simply wanted his supposed offensive-minded coach to actually develop him. But Marrone refused. -

The 2014 team is still the most talented team we've had this millennium. Current team included. -

We were already 13 years into the drought when Whaley took over, yet he was a "major reason"? How about Ralph and Russ who spear-headed the drought through the entire thing?- 211 replies

I just looked it up. Allegiant is paying $25M A YEAR for the naming rights. For some perspective, New Era pays the Bills $5M/year

Apparently @Phil The Thrill is Karlos Williams. BUSTED!! Karlos is a jackass. I met him at Gabriel's Gate, and he was a nice enough dude. But he also sat there and crushed about 40 wings, and then showed up to camp a couple of weeks later fat and out of shape. That's all on him. You're a RB in the NFL, dude. Probably the most easily replaceable. Whaley gave you a shot as a 5th round pick, and you blew it. -
Take note, Terry.

They missed the opportunity to make me happy to see him out of a Patriots uniform!

No audience tho, so that's all that really matters. The fighters/wrestlers already get paid to put their health at risk, so a virus is no biggie. -
There are a lot of places to get good wings around town. Intown, the Local probably has the best, but a lot of other bars do them well. We worked with Whitehall last offseason to revamp their wings and help get them right. I was really pleased with what they ended up with. But yeah, cant find that pizza anywhere. I've always thought that a true Buffalo pizzeria/sub shop would do well here. A mash-up of Bocce and Jim Steakout.

A friend lost both his grandparents last week to COVID complications. Grandmother first, grandfather about 5 days after. The Uncle has tested positive as well, and it's believe he passed it to them. He is absolutely distraught. We also found out on a conference all this week that our Department Head and her husband both have it, but neither have gotten sick. He is a physician, and they both took a vacation to Italy earlier in the year (before it hit the fan), so not surprised they caught it. Luckily, they seem fine. Same, we had whatever that was sweep through the office in February and I was fairly certain back then that's what it was. With our Dept Head testing positive (and being the only one of us who has been lucky enough to be tested), I'm pretty sure we all got it.
