  1. Wait a minute... Thomas the Tank Engine's conductor was in a band???
  2. Thanks. So assuming the new Rams/Chargers and Raiders stadiums will be ranked ahead of New Era, we're actually at 26 out of 30. Not great, but I guess not too out of line.
  3. 24 sounds about right. Where were the old stadiums (L.A. Memorial Coliseum (Rams), Dignity Health Sports Park (Chargers) and Oakland Coliseum (Raiders)) ranked?
  4. With a $140M injury guarantee, the first day of camp I'd be like "I got a boo-boo. I'm going home. Mail the check!"
  5. But what about my Cash-to-Cap plan!?!?!? (Remember those terrible days?)
  6. For anyone still trying to argue that "nAtIvE AmEriCaNS dOn'T cArE, oNlY wOkE WhItE pEoPlE dO" Native American groups ask NFL to force Redskins name change More than a dozen Native American leaders and organizations sent a letter to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell on Monday calling for the league to force Washington Redskins owner Dan Snyder to change the team name immediately. The letter was signed by 15 Native American advocates and obtained by The Associated Press.
  7. Oh wait. Harbaugh and McD were already on a staff together, right? I think both were assistants on Reid's staff. What a tree that is.
  8. Definitely agreed on John Harbaugh. Harbaugh as HC, Shanahan as OC, McD as DC. Let's go!
  9. Just curious, who was Cowherd's #1? edit: NM, I fast forwarded. Kyle Shanahan. Can't disagree there I guess.
  10. Not only have they thought of it, but already mocked up the logos ?
  11. Stay tuned for this and other classics from "Debating with a 5 year old".
  12. My favorite of his, from The Legend of 1900
  13. He was merely quoting a popular rap song in those tweets!
  14. Redwoods seems like the obvious choice there, no? But then they'd have to move to the other side of the country.
  15. Now this is some high-quality COVID Prolonged Offseason S#it-posting Good stuff
  16. Ironic telling people to think for themselves when you've fallen to the Marketing (read: Propaganda) that re-branded "basic human empathy" as "being woke" so that you can scoff and dismiss it. No one is really talking about the Braves or Chiefs, because those are specific types (like Kings and Warriors). Indians... eh, a little lazy, but not horrible. Redskins though... come on. How are you still defending this? It's like saying a team in California named the "Yellowmen" is actually honoring the Chinese immigrants we enslaved to work on the railroads. We can do better.
  17. You havent seen the classic @Rob's House closer that he uses in every single one of these Washington threads: "My wife is part Native American, and she doesnt care. Therefore no one does."
  18. Well, you definitely didnt look into the details, or even click your own link. That article is about the isolation facilities for people coming back into New Zealand being overwhelmed. Meaning, so many New Zealand citizens are coming back from vacation, they are running out of places to put them in order to maintain the quarantine period. That's it. And it goes on to say this is a worry because "Country records biggest coronavirus case jump in two months after.... (pause for dramatic affect)... four returning travellers diagnosed" FOUR! As in one, two, three, FOUR! FOUR new cases from outsiders and they are thinking about locking down again. The US had 52,609 new cases YESTERDAY. What this should show you is countries that took this seriously from the start, with citizens that acted properly, have been able to get this under control. We arent even CLOSE. (Disclaimer: Now, I'll give you that the population and demographics of NZ are nothing like the US. They are a small island with sparse population. The entire country was already social distanced. But dont try to turn the way they successfully addressed the situation into something political. They followed the scientific recommendations, and the entire populace banded together to follow the rules and get their lives back.)
  19. So 3 months instead of the 2 months I originally said? Ok, if that's what it wouldve taken to get back to normal, we should all still be willing to do it. New Zealand re-opened a couple weeks ago. Below is their chart of new cases through yesterday. Where is the "come back"?
  20. That's a lot of fancy talk, and I'm an idiot, but I believe that says the waivers would be meaningless. Yes? I'm sure the NFL knows that too. To go back to the original article in the first post of the thread, it just says the "NFL is considering". Which means nothing. It means it was brought up once in a brainstorming session and that's as far as it went because the league knows better. Waivers aint gonna happen. Folks need to get on board with doing what it takes to squelch our outbreak. There is no political or legal way around the virus. Only science.
  21. Here's why: Compared to our disaster: And that's with the same increased testing. Forget any of the media nonsense and look at the numbers and trends. Everyone who behaved and sucked it up and followed some EASY rules for a couple months are getting their lives back. Even Italy got their act together. They're playing Rugby in New Zealand, and Baseball in South Korea too. But not us. Because "we need our haircuts" or "muh freedom" or something. We dont deserve to have our Football back.
  22. Worse than Football, where players tackle each other, sweat and bleed all over each other? Nah. Plus, Football requires far more ancillary staff than Basketball with so many coaches and trainers. Most of which are old, or obese, or both. NBA can send the players into their "bubble" and pull off a quick March Madness-type tourney and call that a season. Football, not so much.
  23. Completely different sports with completely different structures. But we'll see.
  24. Its fun to pretend there's going to be a season this year. It keeps me going.
