Cover1: Week 2 Breakdown... WOW!
DrDawkinstein replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Funny thing, I was about to say "Maybe on video chat, but probably not standing next to each other". But I just found out Nate was actually a decent HS QB at Frontier and is over 6'1" himself! Ok, maybe it's time to follow @msw2112's lead and go do some actual work and say hi to my kid... -

That was my thread last week, I do what I want! You gotta get your priorities straight. Josh is on an MVP campaign! -
Cover1: Week 2 Breakdown... WOW!

Hit me with the link to that thread because I looked! -
That's why I expect the twist! I'm fine with lighting them up and scoring 50 points too, if that's what McD wants to do.

Another great hour+ long video deep-diving into Josh's game from last week. Some big eye-opening stuff in here. From the performance of our OL, to Josh making reads and moving WITHIN the pocket, to our WRs showing their talents on creating space and getting open. Plus, breakdown of the big plays we all missed during the "Technical Difficulties" Some highlights for me: 19:40 - Deep pass to Beasely. Quote "This is a throw that transcends the talent they are facing" Paging @Shaw66 22:11 - McKenizie's 46 yarder. Big gain, but again pointing out that Josh may have missed a "better target". Much like JT pointed out on the Knox throw. This is not a knock on Josh, this is good tape analysis. While they point out the miss of Singletary, they also call the play a possible "Top 3 of Josh's career so far". 27:09 - Breakdown of the Diggs TD. The way Diggs resets his route after getting bumped by Van Noy, and instantly goes from being well covered to completely open. THIS type of stuff is what makes him one of the best WRs in the game, and shows what we have been missing in our previous WR groups. He gets bumped, resets, and that HAND GOES UP! LETS GOOOOO!

In a game I'm hoping we can pound the rock and control the clock, it might matter.

The Athletic Article: Daboll and Allen
DrDawkinstein replied to inthebuff's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Remember, the question on Josh was whether he could do these things AT ALL. If he could EVER be accurate. And he is showing that he absolutely can be. -
Dont let yourself miss out on some good analysis over something so petty. JT isnt wrong. The pass probably should have gone to Brown. And for novices like us, I appreciate the breakdown because my amateur eyes would never have picked that up. This is much more similar to how Daboll/Josh will break down the film. And it is that kind of insight I am looking for, as opposed to the absolute idiots they have on ESPN who do nothing but ball-wash the Cowboys. I havent watched the hour+ breakdown from Cover1 this week yet, but I bet they point out similar things. It isnt a major knock on Josh, just constructive criticism.

Josh Wins Fedex Player of the Week

DrD hates Russ. DrD loves Elaine. -
So many good young qbs in the NFL right now

Point is, if he had the benefit of today's perspective, he might have coaches who were willing to rebuild the offense completely just for him (Jackson), or a team who was willing to bring in a college offense coach (Murray). He may still have sucked, but we'll never know what could have been with a real chance and a full team support. Bums me out because he was so fun to watch in college. Probably the best college player I've watched with my own two eyes (considering I didnt really start watching college ball until about 2003). -

Josh Wins Fedex Player of the Week

I normally really like Russell Wilson as a player. But this year so far, he has been up against Josh in these types of weekly votes, and now is already getting MVP hype which should be Josh's. Gonna start "hating" Russ pretty quick over here. -

Making reads, going through his progressions, throwing with anticipation... with accuracy. Guys, we made it. -
I keep telling myself "At least we're not the 49ers. At least we're not the 49ers. At least we're not the 49ers. At least we're not the 49ers...."

The view of the pass from the end zone out to Diggs up the right side is absolutely amazing. I believe it's at 5:40 in the vid.

I dont think it's any ill will at all, but I imagine there is always a little bit more edge when going back to old teams.
-
My biggest fear this week isnt Aaron Donald. It's Bob Woods. Dude is a killer and I know he'll be a little extra motivated coming back to Buffalo.

I like our chances!

To expand on this, I like our coordinators better than theirs. I'll take Daboll and Frazier over *checks notes* Kevin O'Connell and Brandon Staley.
