  1. Not only do I agree with that McCarthy assessment, I also want to note I have Bo Nix behind him as well. There's going to be a LOT of reaching for QBs if the draft plays out like all the experts mock.
  2. My only nitpick is, if the board does fall like this, I think the Chiefs end up with Franklin or McConky over Polk. Out of those 3, I'd be happiest if the Chiefs went with Polk. That's why if I'm the Giants, I'm looking to trade out of that spot and pick up an extra 1st for next year. They're stuck with Jones this year no matter what. Trade down, use picks to build the roster around the QB. Then use that extra 1st to maneuver around next year to get a QB. There are just soooo many teams taking QBs this year, and the pool is not nearly as deep as those folks are hoping.
  3. Chiefs trade up ahead of us for Worthy and we panic-pick a nobody DE? This mock may be far too accurate for my liking.
  4. I dont see it as an issue or bad side. I guess from a silo'ed NFL GM perspective, but they'll adjust in time. Pay these student athletes (although the NCAA abdicating to NIL was the worst way to do it), and keep kids in school longer. Works for me.
  5. But so is Defensive Holding so it all evens out.
  6. So 4 pages in, I think it's safe to say... "Not many" Our best examples have been 2nd rounders and a Supplemental Draft Pick (who had previously lit up the USFL with success). Jerry Hughes still stands as the best example, imo.
  7. I'd take it. Of course, now that it has been mocked means it 100% will not happen.
  8. Look what they did to their OL Coach, Sean Kugler. Throwing him under the bus in order to protect Steve Kiem from sexual assault allegations because they looked alike. This is standard MO for Bidwell and the Cardinals.
  9. What did Matt Smith do? Maybe he was in charge of putting our highlights together and they were like "no work left for you here buddy".
  10. KC definitely going WR at 32. Need to snag one ahead of them at 28, and watch they dont jump us to get our guy (again)
  11. Nah, thanks. I'm a big fan and probably owe some contribution at this point, but so far I'm better as an observer.
  12. No Fun League .... jkjkjk, thanks for doing this every year. It's great for filling in this dead time between March Madness and the Draft.
  13. I would be THRILLED if the only weapon KC adds from the first 2 rounds of the draft turns out to be Polk.
  14. Tyler Perry?
  15. Seems like a great, low-stress gig for a guy about to be 60 and already sitting on $30M in the bank who wants to still hang out with his buddies during the day. 🤷‍♂️
  16. Fair enough, I dont mind double dipping at WR in this draft either. I'm just not sure I'd do it with our first 2 picks back to back, nor am I as sold on Polk. Looks to my (untrained) eye like another Gabe Davis clone. Who was decent for a 4th round pick, but not what I would be happy with from my 2nd round pick that was also a double-dip pick.
  17. So in hindsight, with the trade down, Bills pass on an opportunity to draft from the pool of Worthy/Mitchell/McConky/Legette in order to land Franklin and a 3rd round pick. IRL, the Bills could stay put at 28 and still draft Franklin. IMO, my issue with the trade down is abdicating our position ahead of KC (and even Baltimore), for not a lot in return. I'd rather pick before them and know we are getting OUR guy over having to settle for whoever is left after the teams we are competing with get to stock their cupboards. Just dont let KC jump us again!
  18. I wouldnt say he lost. He was in a win-win situation and leveraged it as much as he could. HC contracts are written with clauses that allow them to leave and still get paid IF there is a change in ownership. Marrone knew of this clause and seized the opportunity to make a power play. "I'm going to walk and make you pay out my contract while having to find a new HC unless you put me in charge of the entire FO". Pegula said no thanks, Marrone walked while still getting paid. And then got another gig so he was DOUBLE DIPPING that NFL HC salary. Probably made himself an extra $10-15M just for quitting a job.
  19. Right on. And he needs guys who will buy in or have already bought into his... "unique" style.
  20. Oh, its absolutely easier said than done. But teams might have different priorities. Maybe a new regime just came in and they want to bring in a bunch of "their" guys. Or may even need to make additional picks just to fill out the roster. Not necessarily because there is going to be so much talent left in those rounds. edit: For example, the Giants only have something like 5 or 6 picks in this draft. They need guys.
  21. Even after taking a WR (Franklin) roughly 15 picks earlier?
