Too good. Supposedly around 1982 when Ace left KISS. There have been two versions I've heard. One went that Eddie was frustrated with VH and Gene told him to stick it out. Another goes that they took Eddie to lunch to ask him to join and he declined. Unfortunately, some googling for interviews to link to the story show that Gene is the only one who tells it. Eddie doesnt remember ever having that conversation, but also admits he could have been effed up enough to not remember. So who knows. True or not, they were all very close friends and I like what it adds to LA Rock lore of that time.

https://www.tmz.com/2020/10/06/eddie-van-halen-dead-dies-cancer-65/ Amazing self-taught guitarist who Gene Simmons stopped from joining KISS and told him to start his own band. Laid down the classic riff and furious lick in Michael Jackson's Beat It. Battled some bad substance abuse in the 2000s, but fought through and got cleaned up. Van Halen >> Van Haggar RIP Eddie

$70 and an order of french toast sticks
DrDawkinstein replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in Off the Wall Archives
Sad life of abuse and drugs. No doubt the abuse started early on with info like this Poor kid never had a chance. -
Last night. Sure, I liked seeing his few flashes in 2018 (eg Vikes), and started really buying in last year (Cowboys), but he still wasnt there. Now I see him this year, with the development steps he's taken, and... wow. It really clicked for me last night while watching the Green Bay/Atlanta game. I watched a number of other games this weekend, and none of the other QBs impressed me. And I realized it was because I had this example of Josh in my brain and he is currently so far ahead of them. Then watching Aaron Rodgers last night, it felt like I finally saw another QB who compared to Josh, and then it clicked "Aaron Rodgers is the only QB that is similar to Josh. THE KID IS FOR REAL!" Dont get me wrong, there are other good QBs, and some that might be even better (Russ & Patrick, maybe), but neither of them look/play like Josh. Especially when throwing the ball. Feels good man.

I, for one, will be glad the Pack have neither of those players when we meet them in the Super Bowl. -
MNF: Pats* at Chiefs 7:05 pm CBS
DrDawkinstein replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Man, that was so sweetly satisfying to watch the Pats STINK and get the ***** kicked out of them on National TV. A great way to end Victory Monday. Watching last night felt VERY MUCH like roles have been reversed. We're the Top 3 team with the MVP QB, and they are floundering with a string of horrible QBs. Loved every second. Feels good man. -
Hypothetical: Chances we regret losing Daboll?
DrDawkinstein replied to jletha's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If the Bills and Josh stay on their projected trend, Daboll will be the hottest coaching candidate on the market. I would be SHOCKED if given his choice, he picked the Jets, even with a #1 overall pick. Would be a majorly dumb move. -
Thanks for the heads up, but this board is the extent of my social media accounts.

A lot of fans didnt know and are surprised. And to be fair to them, there have been a lot of comments by the PLAYERS who have been surprised to hear so much talk on the field now that they can hear EVERYTHING. A lot of surprise trash-talkers apparently who are usually quiet guys in the locker room.

Hypothetical: Chances we regret losing Daboll?
DrDawkinstein replied to jletha's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
A good point Sal made this morning, assuming Daboll does leave after this year: the top Coordinator candidates to replace him will all WANT to come to Buffalo. So if we don't simply promote from within with Dorsey, we'll be in a good position to go get whoever we want for OC. That is a big change from as recent as 2017, when McD had to hire his 3rd choice for OC and waste a year with Dennison. I'm hoping Daboll sees staying with the Bills another year and making a real Super Bowl run, and the clout that would give him, as an opportunity to land a HC job with a good franchise and not just run off to the Jets since they are the first to offer. I could see him land in Atlanta as well. I wouldnt feel as bad if he left next year for the Falcons. At least he's out of the Division and Conference.- 69 replies

Huge play that nobody is talking about
DrDawkinstein replied to Liberal Bob's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Big tackle on that kick off, and that started the sequence of events that lead to Norman's punch-out, which ignited the Defense (and whole team). Stuff happens. Bass is a rookie. I'm ready to ride with him now and into the future. Let the kid develop. We should know better by now. -
Tyrel Dodson getting more snaps than AJ Klein
DrDawkinstein replied to CorkScrewHill's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Klein came in for a bit, but was so bad he got benched for Dodson, who did much better. Klein is def not the answer there. -
Josh Allen - week FOUR report card
DrDawkinstein replied to rayray808's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Its the same throw Manning broke down on his Detail episode last week, and told folks "Dont try this at home" because only a few people can do it. It is a BIG TIME, BIG BOY throw. -
It's simple math, they couldnt take a knee with the Raiders having 1 TO. Had to run plays to milk to clock. 1st and 10 - 1:36 Take a knee, Raiders call TO 2nd and 11 - 1:34 Take a knee, let 39 sec run 3rd and 12 - 0:55 Take a knee, let 39 sec run Now you are snapping the ball on 4th down and punting, with 16 sec left. Instead, they ran plays and Singletary ate some clock on his runs. Juuuust enough to allow us to kneel it down for the last play and get out.

Surprised at all the pearl clutching going on here. I'm liking hearing all the on-field "noise". It's just some words.
