Great news, and now I'm dying to see where the $$ comes in.

For accuracy's sake: 6 Year Contract 4 Year Extension
-
Of course he has more to prove. He's been a HC for all of 3 years. And now he'll have a chacne to prove it. And for what it's worth, I'm not the only one to feel that way... (from late December)
-
Absolutely not. Look around the league. There isnt exactly a ton of coaching options or prospects. Heck, teams are bringing in 1-year college coaches. Without looking through a list, I'd say he's arguably a top 10 HC in the NFL. And I think a LOT of players around the league would agree.
-
Given his experience with the Davis family and coaching contracts, I'd be surprised if this was true. I agree it's possible, I'd just be surprised.
-
If it turns out he sucks for the next 2 years, then they fire him and it doesnt affect the team at all. Only Terry's (well-stocked) bank account.
-
All years on all coaching contracts are guaranteed. No? They are separate from the Cap, and paid like any internal employee.
-
lol, you called it

IIRC, typically teams dont give the details of someone's money, that's up to the player/agent to leak.
-
THIS! I'm expecting Josh to continue developing, but if he doesnt, you dont burn the entire thing down. You just get a new QB and keep the rest of the team stable. Just like Ozzie Newsome and Billick not being fired for drafting Boller and given a chance to make it right.
-
THEY never change and grow, therefore no one does.
-
Its not your money, and it doesnt come out of our cap. Who cares? You afraid all this "new money" is going to go to his head and he's going to blow it on fast cars, loose women, and Captains hats?
-
We got the length (6 years), but more importantly, anyone know the girth ($$)?

Hard Knocks: LA - Premiers tonight 8/11
DrDawkinstein replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
To answer my own question from the first post, I cared so much about this that I completely forgot I even made this thread and totally missed the premier last night. While sitting in front of the tv with nothing better to do. ? Guess I'll catch it on the app tonight. But so far, the reviews here are about what I expected. -
The schools are valuing health and safety over $, which is exactly what they should do. And hell no, I dont expect the kids to play in the spring. I'd opt out as well. Even if I wasnt going pro, even more reason to opt out. Come back in the fall healthy, instead of having just finished a season only a few months prior. Was just trying to give a glimmer of hope, even though I disagree with the idea of playing in the Spring.
-
If there was actual leadership, and they cared about player/coach/staff safety and not the almighty dollar, they would cancel the season. Honor scholarships and eligibility for an extra year. Let seniors come back next year if needed. It would all even out in a couple years anyways with players leaving early for the NFL like they normally do. Postponing is just as dangerous and greedy. Push it back to when? Spring? And then expect them to play again a few months later in the fall? Any player going to the NFL should and would opt out anyways. Just nut up and cancel the whole thing for one year. Life will go on just fine without college sports for 1 year. These arent adults who get paid to do this like the Pros. These are amateur student athletes. They shouldnt be forced to play, nor should it be on them to make a decision.

Ok All You Flat Earth Idiots: Refute This, I Dare Ya!
DrDawkinstein replied to K-9's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Interesting thing about Mike Hughes is that it is widely known/believed that he wasnt really a flat-earther, but instead paid them lip service to help fund his suicidal rocket hobby. He had already been building and launching rockets for years before joining that community. And only did so after his money ran out. From his wiki: In 2016, Hughes launched a failed fundraising attempt for a rocket that raised $310. After professing his belief in a flat Earth later that year, Hughes gained support within the flat-Earth community. His post-flat-Earth fundraising campaign made its $7,875 goal. -
Hard Knocks: LA - Premiers tonight 8/11
DrDawkinstein replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Same. I watch every year. Seeing the way these billion-dollar organizations are run, and the inside conversations between coaches or coaches and GM, etc, will never stop being interesting to me. I'm actually hoping they are able to find those same old tired storylines to get a bit of normalcy. If it's 60 min of how different players are dealing with COVID, I'm out. Start with the best: -

I just watched 2004 Florida State vs Virginia on ESPN last night, so my standards are pretty low right now. -
Does anyone really care? Normally, I'd say no with these teams. But at this point of 2020, I'll take anything I can get.
