Bills Entire Marketing Dept Steps Down

Honestly do not give a single *****. Why do the Bills even need a Marketing department? Are there people in Buffalo who are unaware of the team? Do they think they are expanding the fan base with a cool billboard? I always got a laugh when people referred to Russ Brandon as a "marketing genius". All it takes to market the Bills in Buffalo is posting the schedule. Folks show up. -
Cam Newton ‘absolutely not’ the Patriots’ starting QB (?)

This is just player-speak. Of course he's the starter. It's just the "right" thing for him to say right now in interviews.- 63 replies

Bills announce no fans for 1st 2 home games
DrDawkinstein replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
They implemented nothing. They had Spring Break as if it was any other year, were late to finally close, and then quickly re-opened before anyone else. Now they're seeing a surge, and just broke the nation-wide record for most cases reported in a day (previously held by NY). The best thing they have going for them is all those Spring Breakers went home and spread the virus in other states instead of just keeping it in Florida. Great win. -

No, there's a 150 page thread on PPP about conspiracy theories. We'll leave that nonsense there. I'm talking about a well documented case of a COVID data scientist filing a whistle-blowers complaint and being fired for refusing to manipulate data. Regardless, that isnt the main point. The main point is that while those two pictures look nice next to each other, and are super convenient because it helps take all the critical thinking out of it, they don't represent what that tweet suggests it does. Are you arguing that Florida implemented and stuck to safety protocols through the entire Spring and Summer? Because we all know they did the exact opposite. -

Do you think because two pictures of two different graphs look alike they represent the same exact thing? Do you trust Florida's reporting, even with all the known issues and controversy? -

You accidentally bring up a good side point. Why should the NFL be the only professional sports league to have fans? NBA, NHL, and MLS are all in a bubble. No fans at games. Heck, no visiting friends and family between games! MLB is playing out and about, but no fans at games. Why do folks think the NFL is so special that we should all be at those games? -
Manish Mehta credentials pulled by NFL
DrDawkinstein replied to Captain Hindsight's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Uhh, one big reason: $$$$ It is in Twitter's best interest to have as many accounts as possible. Even if most are fake (which they currently are). There is absolutely NO motivation for them to crack down on fake or alt accounts. It would reduce their numbers and therefore reduce their ad and data revenue. It's a "free" service to the users. Which means users arent the customer, they are the PRODUCT. Do you want to pay for twitter? Or do you trust twitter to not sell your SSN to the highest bidder along with all your user data they already track and sell? The simplest answer: get off twitter, get off facebook (and IG and snap and tiktok and...) -
I think "outrage" is a bit strong. It's just a goober move from a little punk we all hate. If we want to laugh at him, we'll laugh at him.

Cards make Baker the highest paid safety in the NFL
DrDawkinstein replied to Greg S's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed, and exactly the point I was trying to make. I love Milano, but he isnt equivalent to the top Safeties in the NFL. I'm thinking (hoping) that given the scheme-fit and the coaching staff, we can get him re-signed on a team friendly deal. If not, bye. -

It's the bigger number, but I'm not sure it's a bigger question. White will get whatever makes him highest paid at that time. Most likely in the $20M range. And I dont think many of us question his value. Milano's value is all over the place. It's tough to find player comparisons for his role and that type of LB. Plus the importance of that role can be questioned. Spotrac has him at about $14M/yr. Is Milano really equivalent to the league's top Safeties? If you had to decide between keeping Milano and signing the best Safety in the league, what would you (or any of us) do? -

I'd post the Michael Jackson popcorn gif, but these same, misinformed arguments arent even entertaining anymore. Good to see the decision is for "the first 2 games". Keeps people safe for now and leaves it open to adjust policy as information evolves.
