Help with non-Bills hall of fame argument
DrDawkinstein replied to jester43's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yeah, I'm looking at the list of 25 candidates, and it seems we're quickly getting to the Hall of Good. Some obvious choices in there (Manning), but a lot of stretches too. Well, I'll say it again... It's the Hall of FAME, not Hall of Stats or Hall of Wins, or anything else. Just Fame. I hear sports writers (who vote on this stuff) describe the qualifying process as "If you were telling a story of the history of the NFL, would you include this guy in your story when talking about that era?" Super Bowl victories definitely help "good" players get in because they were part of something greater and gained the notoriety from it. And I'm fine with that. Since really all we're talking about here is another Marketing tool of the NFL (which itself is just a Billion dollar hype machine). Neither, IMO. But I could go Faneca. 13 seasons, all at a high level, and a Super Bowl ring. If we had to put one of them in, I'd vote Faneca. -
A Gift To Putin On Way Out The Door
DrDawkinstein replied to Trump_is_Mentally_fit's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Ah, thanks. That makes sense. My only issue is that now it's all secret and covert. Whereas previously, even if it was one-sided and Russia was doing all the surveilling, we at least knew what they were looking at and how often. Now it gives us far less insight into what Russia is looking at in the US. I really dont see the benefit of pulling out of the treaty. Even with your valid reasons. Valid reasons don't necessarily produce benefits. Any thoughts on that? How does pulling out of the treaty really benefit the US? -
If Trump loses and refuses to leave
DrDawkinstein replied to Kemp's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
He is the only President to lose the popular vote twice. 2016, and then a landslide loss in 2020. And then he kept dragging out the recounts in 2020 to the point he has now lost about 8 times in just 1 term. Quite bigly! -
Bennet a finalist for HOF

Different. Lewis was not involved in the act and only semi-involved in the aftermath. Bennett straight up violently raped and assaulted someone all on his own. -

How was it not evening out? Were they going back on the treaty and not allowing us? -
Shouldn’t Diggs be in the MVP race?
DrDawkinstein replied to C.Biscuit97's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why? Both could be candidates, which is all he is arguing for. -

Dont do that. It absolutely was not, regardless of anything else that went on in her life. You can find docs with the horrible details if you dig far enough. -
Flores: Tua benched, not hurt
DrDawkinstein replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Worked for Reid and Mahomes. And with this weird offseason and Tua's injury, and Flores and Fitz firmly in place, it shouldnt have even been a question. IMO -

If the reports are true, it was pressure from Ownership that caused the move to Tua. Which we all know from our Ralph days, is bad news for a franchise no matter who the players are. -

I'd argue that says more about the Flores/Ownership relationship than Tua at this point. Look, I'm all about Miami blowing this and continuing to suck. I liked Tua in college, but now that he is a Dolphin he can get squished with the rest of them. I just think it is more mismanagement at this point than anything else. He shouldnt have started any games this year as it was. Especially with the wonky offseason, and no rookie camps, etc. -
Ryan Fitzpatrick: Hall of Famer? or First Ballot HoFer?
DrDawkinstein replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
Dont get me wrong, I'm not against putting him on the Wall. I'm just sayin if he is Wall worthy, then he should be discussed for the Hall too. He's started games for 25% of the league. There isn't a fanbase anywhere that doesnt love him. If he starts the rest of the year, he likely leapfrogs Kelly on the all-time passer list. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/leaders/pass_yds_career.htm -
Bennet a finalist for HOF
DrDawkinstein replied to SC BIlls Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It happened after his time in Buffalo, so a lot of fans missed it. But the deeper you go into the police and case reports, the worse it gets. Sad for sure, because if not for this he may be my favorite Bill from that era. The first image that comes to mind when thinking of the SB days is him catching that blocked FG against Denver and taking it to the house. But eff him. -

I cant disagree with that. 👍 -
Ryan Fitzpatrick: Hall of Famer? or First Ballot HoFer?
DrDawkinstein replied to DrDawkinstein's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'd argue his overall career is far more impressive and noteworthy than the little he did while with the Bills. -

Never going to happen after what he did to that girl. Nor should he ever be honored for anything ever again. I love(d) Biscuit, but can't anymore. -

I like that explanation, and thanks for the insider insight, but this reads to me as if we are no longer surveilling Russia, but they will continue to surveil us. No? -

Neither of those negate the fact that he was a slinger over a game manager. Just look at the Leaders in the box scores for the 2019 season. Against Duke Passing: Tua Tagovailoa 26-31, 336 yards, 4 TDs Rushing: Jerome Ford 10 carries, 64 yards, 1 TD Against South Carolina - 495 passing yards to 76 rushing yards Against Ole Miss - Tua Tagovailoa 26-36, 418 yards, 6 TDs, vs 155 rushing yards. etc, etc Sure, they had a good run game. But really only used it to burn the clock after Tua's passing attack put them up 40 points at halftime. -

Get rid of the Electoral College, make everyone's vote equal, and give us Ranked Choice Voting, and then Trump's influence against our democracy wont matter. -
Tom Brady is a B-WORD! Brandt with the good point: "If Baker Mayfield or Cam Newton pulled that, they would be annihilated in the opening segment of every radio show and every tv show in the world"

Tua was the OPPOSITE of the classic Bama game manager who just needed to hand off and rely on the defense. Tua was throwing for 400yards a game and not even playing the 4th quarter! He is not a tentative game manager. Never was. -
This. Very much, this. I'm reminded of one of my favorite quotes. By Neil Gaiman/Terry Pratchett in Good Omens: “It may help to understand human affairs to be clear that most of the great triumphs and tragedies of history are caused, not by people being fundamentally good or fundamentally bad, but by people being fundamentally people.”

I know, it's just in fun. But I do believe he is as qualified as some others. Again, none of this stuff matters, so why not?
