  1. IMO, Epenesa's ceiling is what we saw from Shaq his last year here. If we are lucky, AJ grows into Shaq Lawson.
  2. I hear what you are saying, but that isnt a great selling point for why it was better to sign those 3 guys over our own guys who were producing. The new guys are easily cuttable... I'd rather have guys I dont want to cut. edit: Additionally, both Shaq and JP's contracts have outs after year 2. We'd just be "stuck" with them for an extra year. Still worth it, imo.
  3. I'd be happy for Sam to hear he has successfully figured out a way to bench himself and protect any semblance of a career that he might find elsewhere.
  4. They both signed 3yr/$30M contracts. Let's say the Bills would have had to come in a little higher and give them $11M or $12M/year instead of $10M.So an annual investment of $22M-24M. We paid Addison $10M/yr, Butler $5M/yr, and Jefferson $7M/yr. So $22M/yr. The only one I can argue was worth bringing in is Addison. And I'd also argue that the Defense is sorely missing the fire, attitude, and swagger that JP and Shaq brought. So yeah, Beane let them walk to bring in other rotational guys at the same total expense who (mostly) aren't producing as well as the guys they replaced.
  5. It is when they are actually winning rings. But watch it all crumble when it's still harsh conditions just to go 7-9. We're already seeing those wheels come off.
  6. We ended this dude's career back in Week 1. I was surprised to see him back on the field at all, even if the Jets wanted to tank.
  7. Exactly. If the cap drops significantly, it will be a problem for EVERY team. And no way the NFL doesnt come up with some forgiveness program, or changes the rules for an off year. What are they going to do? Force teams to cut all the high-priced guys and leave them out of work for a year? No.
  8. I'd like to bring him back, but would need to work a restructure. Maybe a 2 year extension, get him some more money in the long run, but spread it out and make sure we can cut him at any time. I dont think it's as bad as a few posters make it seem. I need to see some real numbers.
  9. In a similar but different note, Jacksonville fans have started a viral movement to vote Yannick Ngakoue into the Pro Bowl. Doing so would shift the conditional pick they get from Minn from a 5th to a 4th. (And also shift the pick Minn gets from Baltimore) They're rallying fans from Minn and Balt division rivals (Lions, Pack, Bears, Steelers, Browns, Bengals) to up his vote count. Smartest thing Jags fans have ever done. I wonder if all 4 of them came up with this plot together.
  10. Reports say he started the game with at least 1 cracked rib, and the hit just made it worse.
  11. McD has done it. Q Jefferson got a game ball for the Seattle game despite being completely absent from the box score stat sheet.
  12. This is the tough part for me as well. Folks ask "Why isnt McD making adjustments at halftime??", and I'm over here thinking "We are dominating teams in the 1st half. Why would he change what is working?" Maybe it takes the 3rd quarter to understand how the other team is adjusting, and then by the time we counter-adjust it's already the 4th quarter. I want to see better 3rd Quarter performances as well, dont get me wrong. Just not sure how we get there.
  13. Sweden reversing course. Enforcing restrictions and banning public events. https://www.marketwatch.com/story/sweden-stages-coronavirus-u-turn-banning-public-events-with-more-than-eight-people-11605538856?&mod=home-page
  14. They were bad moves even with Star in the equation.
  15. Just playing the numbers game, you arent wrong. We have more Guards than Tackles, so it would make sense to prioritize Williams over Feliciano. But given the way we've seen our Defense and DL decline by letting Shaq and JPhillips walk and trying to replace them with 1-step-down players... and how important and ingrained Feliciano is in this unit... I'd hope we prioritize signing Feliciano a little higher. Keep the starting band together, and look at finding a replacement for Nsekhe. Dawkins, Feliciano, Morse, Ford, Williams. Make it happen.
  16. Same. Give this young team as many chances as possible. I'd like to know the details as to what we would have ended up with had we declined the Offside penalty. I can see taking the 2nd and 10 over a 1st and 20, but not sure it would have been that far.
  17. Just a general question for everyone: Which would you rather have - 1st and 15, or 2nd and 10?
  18. Yeah, but no one ever heard from Gym Class Heroes again. Whereas here you are, 13 years later, with literally dozens of us reading your posts! Right on. I've tried to start threads and make posts to help others keep perspective as we finish out the year. Saying "If we go 4-4 the second half, we still finish 10-6 and likely take the division". Meaning: prepare to lose as much as we win. Dont get too high or too low, and just hang on and enjoy the ride. Wont even come here on Sundays after the games, win or lose. The takes are just too fresh and piping hot.
  19. Probably falls under the "Just because you can doesnt mean you should" category. Good that he cleared protocol, but another week of rest to be followed by a bye week, is probably best for Mitch and his brain.
  20. White is still in prime position, but I see Knox is making a strong case to catch a beating. I'm done with Knox myself, so guilty here as well.
  21. That already happens. Nothing would change. Isnt a problem in College.
  22. Agreed, and now you've taken it to my favorite tangent discussion: the Refs should be full time NFL employees and work on their craft year-round.
  23. Agreed with almost all of this, except now you are bringing up a deeper discussion (tangent?) that DPI shouldnt be a spot foul, but rather just a 10yd penalty and automatic 1st down like in College. Which I do prefer.
  24. Last second hail mary fluke loss to a very good team, on the road out west, with a bunch of starters out... Not one of the worst losses that I can remember. Especially with the way Josh left th field with the game in hand.
