Texans coaching staff on Watt - bitter or truthful?
DrDawkinstein replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Bitter. -
Ehh, not really. That was his public message to Houston, the team he was on at the time, and under contract with. Could have simply been a way to set the stage to push to be released (which worked!). Different situation once he is actually a Free Agent. I'm looking for anything he said in the past month regarding any guidelines of who he would sign with. My guess is there isnt anything, because he would be stupid to disqualify teams before he saw their offers. Like I said earlier in the thread, I think both sides are dumb here, but I understand chasing that money while you can. I dont know of any quotes from the last month that would make him a "liar". I wanted to see him signed in Buffalo and agree he could have done well here, but I'm not upset or offended he went elsewhere. Especially when that team is in the NFC. Onward and Upward!

After watching Tampa Bay in the Super Bowl, I'm down for D Front 7 at 30

Border Collies are for very experienced and very dedicated dog owners who have a ton of time and energy to spend on making sure their needs are met. They are the Advanced Course of Dogs.

All this winning really takes the fun out of mock drafts. It's one thing to have a couple options in mind when picking #10 overall, and it's likely that one or all of them will be available. But picking #30?!? Who frickin knows. Agreed, there is almost no way any of the guys in the first 3 picks here actually makes it to us (especially Cox in the 3rd). But it's tough to say what is reasonable at #30 too.

The goal is to improve the team as much as possible and at our largest areas of need, within our limited resources. My point is that while the OL can always be improved, the Offense was the least of our problems last year, and actually the strength of the team for once. I'd rather keep that as-is and prioritize resources to improve the D where we will get the most bang for our buck (biggest improvement). If we can still use resources to improve the OL, great! It just isnt a major need, imo.

If we re-sign 2 out of Feliciano/Boettger/DWIlliams, and Ford comes back from injury, how big of a need is it really? Edit: Disclaimer - I'm always down for upgrading the trenches, so wouldnt be upset with an early OL pick. Just dont think it will be that much of a need compared to D Front 7.

WandaVision, are you watching? A hex on you if you’re not.

They're releasing on Disney+, like Mulan, no? This schedule was for streaming. Ah, I see here it's still up in the air... https://screenrant.com/black-widow-movie-disney-plus-release-delay-happen/ -
Beane allowing Murphy to stay on the roster and have the guarantee kick in was arguably his biggest mistake of 2020. Should have cut him and tried to re-sign him cheaper and not guaranteed.

JMO, but anytime anyone presents something to me that guarantees me $100M+, I sign that almost immediately. I dont think he'd be leaving too much money on the table signing now rather than next year. Especially for a guy who plays physically and had a small shoulder injury this year. And a guy who doesnt seem like the type to try to push this to a "Dak-type" situation. Get it done so everyone can focus on playing football and move on. If he is due to sign a 5yr/$200M extension, how much higher will it really get? And is it worth waiting for? And does he lose out on some guaranteed money since the team loses the ability to spread the hit into 2021?

I think he has at least 1 good-to-great year left in him. And I also think he will be highly motivated to prove that at least this year as well. Assuming we're looking at a 2-3 year contract, I think it could be worth it for a star player 1 year, and a solid contributor for 2 more. Hell, we paid Murphy $10M to stand around in street clothes for most of the year.

"Jaws of Life" always makes things sound way more serious than they really are. They are just high-powered scissors that can cut through metal. If the door was crunched and simply couldnt open... Jaws of Life. Hoping all goes well for Tiger. I'm a big fan.

Yeah, PLENTY of NFL players arent in the right place mentally. It just usually doesnt bite them in the ass until after they are out of the league and dont have people covering for them anymore. -

Havent seen the newest episode yet, so avoiding discussion on the show for now. But wanted to share this tentative schedule a reddit user made. Disney is releasing new Marvel content every week for the rest of this year. And then will release new Star Wars content (Boba Fett, etc) every week of 2022. CANT WAIT!
