6 teams have until 4 pm tomorrow to get under the cap
DrDawkinstein replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm more surprised they havent been tweeted about by the media tho. The Bears had some big moves to make to drop $20M. Although they did restructure Mack this week to save about $10M, and I'm not sure that was counted in spotrac's $20M figure. -

So it's 4:40pm. What have these teams done to get under cap? -
Ah, true, true. That is a 2021 roster bonus. Good call. Nevermind. Well then... BEANE'S ASLEEP AT THE WHEEL!
-
Aren't there cash implications there tho? I know the Bills and Pegulas arent hurting for money, but if you make everything a signing bonus, you need to pay it immediately. Even if you get to amortize it over the contract in Accounting. And even with Terry's deep pockets, theres still only so much cash to throw around. And for the Bills right now, with Josh so young, our window is 10 more years. Not 3-5 where you might be able to eat it at the same time your star QB retires and say "🤷♂️ oops, bad year, lets tank and reset next year". These guys are planning for 10 years out.

Mark Carrier named Bills Player Engagement Director

That's a bummer. Marlon has lived in my parents neighborhood since his playing days. Great family, great neighbors. I hope they're able to stick around. -
Yep, check my edit. Yesterday was still unofficial. Cardinals called overnight, and they pulled it off last minute.
-
Traded for Hudson? I thought he was straight up released? edit: Ah, I see they pulled off a last minute trade before the release became official today.

It's no Murray/Whaley pic, but at least Kruger is enjoying his first day off. I'm sure he's relieved to be out of there. Enjoying the day on the Elmwood strip

Pegula's jet flight activity Chicago?
DrDawkinstein replied to Mcg's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
For what it is worth, the Bears just restructured Mack like 2 days ago and shaved about $10M off his cap hit this year. Doubt they move him. Although maybe they did it to make it easier to move him? -

I always love it. Even if it most likely means nothing. I find it hilarious/intriguing what we can do with the internet nowdays. -

My immediate first thought, and exactly what this feels like. Especially after reading that entire "announcement" which was a lot of blabber about the lawyer and his family, with no substance.

Raiders cut center Rodney Hudson, possibly cash poor
DrDawkinstein replied to Reed83HOF's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wait. Players get paid out of Revenue Sharing that gets doled out by the League Office. HowTF could the Raiders say they don't have the money to pay guys? It isn't their money? -

lol, Bears. $20M over, only 53 players on roster. Who do they even cut? And they suck. -
Patriots add "stud" WR Kenny Bourne [edited title]

I hope Beane is showing interest in everyone the Pats are after and running up the price! -
Gronk Considered signing with Bills

Congrats on not posting screen shots anymore. -
Interesting observation, but it neglects to consider the players' perspective. Ngakoue has been trying to hit the open market, and decide his own fate, for years. Instead, he was tagged in Jax, then traded to Minn, then traded again to Baltimore. I'm not surprised he tested the market as soon as he could. Judon was going to be paid more than he was worth, and the Ravens (and Judon's camp) knew this. I think it is all more coincidental, than showing any trends that outside rush isn't important. It definitely is.

And they just traded to bring Trent Brown back
-
Alright, Pats got me with this one. Sonofa!
-
He was absolutely game-changing good, and regularly put us in great field position. But I do agree the money should be spent elsewhere.

Bills re-sign Feliciano
DrDawkinstein replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No one wants to leave the team. As evidenced not only by all of these players returning as discounted rates, but also how John Brown left the facility pretty much kicking and screaming.
