Personally, I agree. And it would be smartest for Pegula to fund it all himself, and then he'd be able to CONTROL it all himself. But I dont think that will happen either. It's not just the Convention Center aspect of it. It's being able to use the building outside of Bills games in any manner. If they build a new stadium downtown, and it is an enclosed building, there is no reason the MAC Football Championship shouldnt be moved there. Ditch Ford Field. Could probably get another Bowl game there too.

Notable Nexflix / Amazon / Premium Channel Series & Movies

Anyone watching Invincible on Amazon? 3 episodes released and I'm liking it so far. Based on a comic book, it's definitely more of a The Boys "real life" take on being a super hero. Great voice cast too. -
No one is saying they'll pack it with conventions. But having the option and the ability to generate any revenue outside of merely 10 days a year is smarter than not having it. With Buffalo's central location to so much of the NE population, they certainly could try to rope in a couple of different events. Better than none.

Ehh, to me, the real essence of Mafia-dom happens inside the stadium when we bring one of the most raucous environments for an opposing team to play in. The "tailgating" we are now (in)famous for is just buffoonery that was added to make the games entertaining since the product on the field was so bad for so long. You can keep the "I had my first beer today" frat party. We can go back to the tailgating that was around back in the 80s-90s when it was centered around some good food before a good game.

I'd imagine Harris at #30 means he's coming in as #1 RB, which then means he replaces Singletary. Harris as your every-down back. Moss as the change of pace thumper Breida as the change of pace speeder Beane will likely go more towards BPA than reaching for a need. And for the talent in this draft, it looks more like an RB will be the smart pick late in the 1st than reaching for a second-tier DL. But anything is possible. Especially at #30.

When we were regularly picking in the #8-#12 range, then this logic made sense. Now that we are picking #30, the values shift drastically. We're pretty much picking in the 2nd round. Getting a top RB at that spot is pretty common. I'm not saying they MUST take a RB there, although I do like Harris a lot. Just that our options are now wide open. Pretty much anything except punter/kicker is on the table. ---------------------------------------- With regards to Breida, I see him as a Yeldon replacement. Anyone we draft will likely be a Singletary replacement. As far as depth chart and playing time go.

Almost unbelievably, the EXACT OPPOSITE just happened this morning! I am SHOCKED by this news of Snyder buying out the minority holders. The NFL just wrapped their own investigation into the WFT and its past issues, and the League's report concluded with a recommendation that the NFL forces Snyder to sell the team. And now the opposite is happening, and is approved by the league. WTF WFT!

Update: Buffalo Start-up darling ACV Auctions (ACVA) IPO'ed today. That was who I was trying to get in on. Their original IPO price was estimated to be $20. They actually IPOed at $25. By the time I could get in through my lowly amateur retail account, the price was closer to $30. All in all, not too bad of a mark-up. Especially since I'm not trying to flip this stock anytime soon. Gonna ride this out and see what these guys can do over the next few years.

This is Beane's MO every year. Fill holes with mid-level FA, then head into the draft in a position to go BPA as often as he wants. Love it.

All Carolina jokes aside, I'm more excited about this signing than any other DL we've taken from the Panthers.

If my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle. We arent talking about some fictional player from another team. We're talking about Jerry Hughes who has been busting his butt since his first day in a Bills uniform. Who rightfully butted heads with Marrone, who put up with the Rex Ryan days, and who has managed to stick around long enough to get to be part of the Bills resurgence. If we had a better way to spend the money lined up as a sure thing, then absolutely, it should be considered. But if it isn't pressing, Jerry has earned the right to keep all the money he has coming to him. And from the amount of moves Beane has been able to pull off in FA even without Jerry taking a paycut, then it doesnt seem like it is pressing. Or that even Beane cares about it.

Getting my 1st Covid vaccination Tuesday
DrDawkinstein replied to Chandler#81's topic in Off the Wall
My wife's original appt was for the J&J single-dose, but she re-scheduled until she found the two-dose available. She wanted the additional efficacy. I believe it's 70% for J&J and 95% for the two-dose. -
Getting my 1st Covid vaccination Tuesday
DrDawkinstein replied to Chandler#81's topic in Off the Wall
Same. There are already a handful of states that are fully open. Anyone and everyone over 16 qualifies. Then you have places that have "restrictions" but the guidelines open it up to pretty much everyone. Take here in GA for example. They recently opened it up to "Obesity", but they define obesity as anyone with a BMI of 26 or above. That is pretty much the entire population. Additionally, at this point, any of the essential/front line/first response type workers, teachers, etc have had ample opportunity to get their shots. In discussing with not only our GP, but also a number of friends and family in the healthcare industry, ALL of them advised to "just go get one". The goal at this point is to get to that 60%-70%+ vaccination rate anyway possible, as QUICKLY as possible. Edit: 2 hours after I made this post our Gov just announced GA is open to everyone 16+ as of Thursday. LETS GOOOO! -
Thanks for the info. I'm aware that all this stuff is truly a racket to favor the big guys. The good news is, I just checked the IPO calendar for stocks that hit the market today, and their current retail price versus the IPO price is pretty close. Most are available for me to purchase within $2 of their original IPO price. One of them has even gone DOWN since it opened. So it doesnt look like we are too far on the outside. And if I can get in within $1-5 of the original price, I'll be happy as an outsider.

That's awesome. I have a great-uncle who, in a case of more luck than brains, went along with his buddy's suggestion to get in on M&T Bank when they IPO'ed in 1980. While all his siblings were in investments and real estate, he wasnt much of an investor and got into this on a lark just to test the waters. It is unbelievable what that one has done over the years. With one stock, he has out-performed everyone in the family, and his kids/grandkids are set well after his passing.
