You probably should go look for the post(s) then because any time I've mentioned any firing it has been completely contingent on having another coaching/defensive meltdown in the playoffs. And given the way Josh is playing, if the coaching and/or defense let him down again, it will be tough for anyone to argue differently. I've also posted numerous times about all the things I like about McD, and have even said if (when) we do win one with him at the helm then give that guy a lifetime contract and carte blanch to do whatever he wants.

Not sure where this pearl clutching is coming from. This has been the norm for every pile and scrum in the history of the game, at every level. It's a known thing that most players even joke about. Happened at every level I played, and even in Rugby scrums. I'd come out of Rugby scrums with bite marks on my arms. No big deal.

Kudos for having a great game plan to stop Detroit. Criticism for getting away from it whenever we got up and let them hang around. Whenever we shifted to "protect the lead" the Lions would go right down and score a TD in like 5 plays. Just keep doing what works. It's classic McD, and it WILL bite us in the ass in the playoffs if he keeps it up.

Anyone have a twitter clip of the 2nd quarter 4th down play to Ty Johnson? That entire play was a thing of beauty. The way the whole offensive unit handled themselves from the time they broke huddle, came to the line, went through the hard count, and pulled off the play. Some really well coached, well executed, high level football.

No hate. But we've all watched Josh carry this team and put them in positions to win in spite of the coaching decisions and defensive performances he has to deal with. So some push back should be expected when someone wants to shift some/any of that Josh credit to McD when McD has far more issues doing his job than Josh does.

Considering Tampa had to fire Dungy and bring in Gruden to win a SB, and Dungy was only able to snag 1 Championship with Manning, I think you might be making more of the "fire McD" argument than you meant to...

So far you're giving McD genius-level credit for: 1. Wanting to have a balanced Offense instead of being one dimensional 2. Wanting to have a good OLine 3. Wanting to prevent turnovers I mean, these are basics that most Pop Warner coaches strive for as well. I'm waiting to see something unique and/or that can be directly attributed to his coaching. Like Reid being known for scheming guys open in his Offensive play calls.

I'll give the entire team, coaching staff, and training staff credit, I really thought things were going to go opposite today. Lions with the dominating win at home, and the Bills getting out of there with a handful of big injuries. I was going to be happy if we just escaped with no injuries. Fun game, fun day.

This has been the funnest Bills season since 2021. Maybe it was the lower expectations, but I think it's more than that. The team is having fun and it shows. And they are actually executing well. The last couple of years, and especially last year, even the wins felt like losses and no one was having any fun. I think it being so obvious from early on that we were going to have the Division locked up helps too.

He absolutely is. He'd be great, for example, going back to Carolina and getting that franchise back to a legitimate team. However, we're at a much different level now. I've posted this before, but the most accurate thing I've read about McD is "He's the type of coach who can take a 4-13 team to the Wild Card round. And the type of coach who will take a 13-4 team to the Wild Card round." But let's face it. Without hitting on the miracle that is Josh Allen, his fate would be much like all those that came before him (Gailey, Marrone, Mularky, etc). No coach can win without a franchise QB no matter how good you are.

See above. Without Josh becoming Josh, McD's career trajectory takes a much different path.

Correct. Without Josh, no way is McDermott a HC right now. Keep in mind McD is the guy who was still going back to the Nathan Peterman well in 2018 with Josh on the team. If he wasnt lucky enough to strike gold with Josh, he has a sub.500 record and is fired by 2022. (He got 5 full years for breaking the drought)

Yeah, I didnt like how that injury (pinched nerve?) was making his legs buckle on the way to the sideline. Dude already has back/neck problems.

Poyer never cracked the starting lineup his entire time in Cleveland, and those were the 2-14, 0-16 teams. Hyde was moved around between CB and Safety and never found his spot. Until they each had about 5 years in the league. Hamlin had a great football pedigree coming in and still struggled to find his footing until this year (year 4). All I'm saying is, it takes a while to learn the position, and reading pro offenses. Bishop was much better along today than any of those guys at this point. He'll keep developing.

Clearly, with no practice this week, Bass had him out on the Chipp Strip.

I thought Bishop did pretty well today actually. Especially for a rookie Safety. NONE of our Safeties were as good in their rookie season as Bishop was today. Not even Hyde or Poyer.
