  1. Disagree. He should be out in the flat catching the hot route pass and turning it up field for 15 yards. If we keep him in to block at all, THEN it is a wasted pick.
  2. Absolutely. And to that same end, if he ISNT correct about our pick, I wont call him a hack. I dont doubt Beane has some interest in ETN, but to guess who will be available at 30 is almost impossible.
  3. Much like the Roulette Results board in a casino, past results don't mean much for predicting the current pick. It was far easier to hit on our pick when we were consistently picking in or near the Top 10. I feel like even I accurately predicted our picks, going back to at least Gilmore. And I dont know anything. Now, if he nails this pick, then THAT is something to brag about, and I'll give him a lot of credit going into next year's mocks. Shaq did alright, considering.
  4. Considering we were pretty close to the top last year? Maybe. Especially when our biggest issue when we got close to the top was not being able to sustain drives, score points, control the clock, and keep the other team off the field. We arent rebuilding. We arent even really building anymore. We are tweaking and bolstering. Now would be the time to make this kind of move.
  5. My "unexpected" pick that Beane surprises us with: Greg Rousseau Hasn't been talked a lot around here. Probably would be the top DE pick if he hadnt sat out and had another season like 2019.
  6. Thanks for digging these up. Entertaining way to kill a few minutes as we get through these longest 36 hours ever... Will be interesting to see what happens with Rosseau, maybe that is Beane's secret/surprise target at #30!
  7. Funny! But... Rumors are that the Pats and Carolina already have something in place to get the Pats up to #8. Gilmore would definitely not mind going him to the Carolina area. Could see him being fine with going there. Could see the Panthers happy to bring him in. Just sayin.
  8. That is my understanding as well.
  9. Kirby tried to bring "classic" Alabama football to UGA and stuck with Fromm over Fields. Meanwhile, Saban evolved and moved to a dynamic passer with Tua and left Kirby/UGA in the dust. If he could go back, I wonder if Kirby doesnt try to make Fields work instead.
  10. Ha! That does change things. Maybe right in the same draft, Lamar Jackson. But before that... Johnny Manziel? Cam Newton?
  11. I will say, Beane's smokescreen has completely worked on me. 48 hours ago I wasnt much of an Etienne fan and hated the idea. But the more that comes out about it, the more I have bought into it. And thinking about him catching those wide-open underneath passes in space... ooo wee Beane blowing that smokescreen into my brain...
  12. Gonna leave this here too as a fun read. https://www.reddit.com/r/nyjets/comments/8f7qv3/bills_traded_up_for_josh_allen_upvote_party/ Jets fans celebrating on Draft Night in 2018 and laughing at us. Aged like milk.
  13. I think they will take a CB at #30. Not sure which one, but I believe CB will have the BPA at #30, AND the potential to have the biggest impact this year as a starter in the CB#2 spot. After that, if not a CB, then I believe it will be a RB. I had been thinking Harris the last couple of months, but now Beane's smokescreens are working on me and I can see them making a play for Etienne too.
  14. I think Lance can/will end up being the 2nd best QB from this draft. Not high on Fields at all. Maybe if he lands in the perfect situation with the perfect coaching staff and players around him. Maybe. IMO, with no real expertise, I think Lawrence and Lance will be the success stories from 2021, and Wilson, Fields, and Jones will all be duds.
  15. EVERY thread can be a COVID thread if you do it right 🤯
  16. I just went back and watched some Etienne highlights again. And dang it, if he doesnt look like exactly the type of player Beane would get excited over. I dont know now.... Beane's smokescreens are working! For reference, lots of catches for big chunks of yards. Tell me these receptions wouldnt fit right in here... (bonus, no obnoxious soundtrack)
  17. One of the GMs probably asked why Beane was looking to trade up, and he sarcastically replied "For a RB of course", and now here we are with a twitter "news" story.
  18. Same. I'll participate in conversation and say I dont mind if they draft a RB at #30, but to move up... for Etienne... Beane would really be pushing my trust in our relationship to its boundaries! Gotta be a smokescreen
  19. I like the old saying "anyone with half a brain can make any statistic say whatever they want".
  20. If Josh Allen succeeds, the Bills will have outsmarted basically all regular humans and the entirety of math itself If this works, then stats really are for losers, I guess. https://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2018/4/24/17271686/josh-allen-nfl-draft-2018-stats-analysis-comparisons De-licious.
  21. I dont see many options to get what we would normally consider a "good ROI" at our first round pick. That is why I lean toward it being a CB. If someone can step in and unseat Wallace as our #2CB then that will be the biggest impact across all positions. Even a DE will be on our regular rotation, and no way does McD start a rookie over Hughes and Addison. I think our expectations on ROI need to be adjusted given where we are drafting and the talent level in this draft class.
  22. I dont think anyone would disagree with the things you state here. The problem is this draft sucks for DE talent. There isn't even a single top guy that is a MUST in the top-10. The entire "top" of the class looks to be on par with Epenesa. I dont see anyone that would step in and make an impact this year. So we can't get desperate and reach for need in the 1st.
