  1. You would think. But waiting until after the draft is going to make it interesting. It's pretty interesting because if they DONT, it means we are going to let his big 2nd contract kick in next year. Accelerating the spending instead of spreading it out. Then do it already?
  2. Funny enough, if both of those Pro Bowls count, then that is the exact reason to NOT pick up the 5th year option right now. Posted in another thread is a tweet with the guidelines that if a player makes 1 Pro Bowl the 5th year option equals the Transition Tag amount. If they made 2 Pro Bowls, the 5th year option equals the Franchise Tag amount. If that is the case, and both Pro Bowls count, then we save nothing by optioning him now. We can wait until after this season and Franchise tag him for the same amount. But at a Franchise cost of $14.7M, I'm not sure he'll be worth it either way. Even if it is the Transition tag amount, which is around $12M, not sure it's worth it. Maybe if he had his original option amount of $9M. Maybe. With the Pro Bowls and increased value, I think they ride it out and see what happens. Well, technically Monday is after the draft. If Beane can pull the trigger by 4pm! That doesnt leave him a lot of room to work, but I assume Beane knows exactly what he wants to do and when. Should be interesting.
  3. Next Monday (5/3) is the deadline for triggering the 5th year option. Will be interesting to see if Beane picks up Josh's. I think we all expected them to use the 5th year AND an extension, when working on Josh's new deal. You'd expect to hear about it before the draft starts at least.
  4. Will be the first QB to start week 1, 3 years in a row, since the Browns returned to the NFL.
  5. This board is great training for new parents. It teaches how to give the same consistent answer when the kids ask the same question 100 different ways to try to trip you up.
  6. For all-time best, it's tough to argue against Neil Young and Rush (although I'm not much of a Rush fan, I still get it). The Tragically Hip will always be up there for me. For some lesser known greats from the 90s: The Tea Party Odds Our Lady Peace Glueleg I Mother Earth Moist The Headstones The Tea Party being the best of the bunch. They were like a grungy Zeppelin. Some classic early-90s styles here...
  7. This seems like some folks making a mountain out of absolutely nothing. Who cares why it was abandoned? No laws have been broken. Diggs can afford it, even if he had to replace the entire truck.
  8. Listen, I'm going to hate Tom Brady, and that's the way it's going to be.
  9. The RBs Knox Addison Morse Wallace In that order, weakest at the top, imo. I think Beane will go CB at #30. Not based just on need, but because that will likely be the position with BPA as well. And while I think Wallace isnt the worst of the bunch, getting some 1st round talent in there at CB2 would have the biggest impact as well. Most bang for our buck.
  10. Schwartz, with a nod to Wade I like that Wide-9. I like the way he used personnel. I liked the aggressiveness on D compared to what we currently get out of the Tampa 2.
  11. Another classic example of Tom Brady thinking he is in charge of the rules. And I cant blame him with the way the League has handled it for 20 years. How did he survive playing college football? It's pretty much wide open, and he did just fine.
  12. I see Warren Sapp has gone through the Sammy Sosa treatment.
  13. You signed up for a 3rd and 4th shot too, didnt you...
  14. The good ol days. Could watch this all day. A longer video with replay and analysis... "He lined him up, he sized him up, he laid him out."
  15. Interesting points. But I do have an issue with him using Yards Per Carry as his main stat for determining value. He keeps saying "None of these backs lead their teams in YPC as the starter". Well duh. The starter, and especially a 1st round Feature Back, is going to get way more carries than the backups. More carries equals higher denominator equals lower average. It's another case of someone knowing just enough math to make a point, but not enough math to realize why it's not a great point either.
  16. Ahhh, good catch. I missed that note. I wonder who he thinks we are trading with and how far back we are moving...
  17. We don't have a pick in Round 4 tho... 🤷‍♂️
  18. I dont see it as Dean saying it isnt important. More that there isnt talent or value there in this specific draft class.
  19. I voted Meh, because I'd probably be a bit worried, but ultimately In Beane I Trust.
  20. One bit of painfully won Justice. Hallelujah.
  21. Good list/breakdown. But I think you are underselling Michel here. His sophomore season, he still put up 912 yds and 7 TDs. Which would be by far the best season Singletary (or Moss) ever had. And not sure I'd say he was replaced last year considering he was on IR twice with a quad injury.
  22. I'm interested in seeing the numbers on this Rams contract.
  23. We just dont need to invest much money or energy into our punter. Bojo had the fewest punts in the entire NFL last year with 41 in 16 games. That is crazy low. Hekker, who he will be replacing, had 68 attempts.
  24. What about ALL of those things? All OL starters back healthy Scheme tweaks Improvement in RB talent What's wrong with that? Fantasy thinking is taking a RB #2 overall like the Giants. Or even top-10. We're at #30.
