Close your eyes McDermott haters…he’s a top 10 HC
DrDawkinstein replied to DJB's topic in The Stadium Wall
They refused to put together a competent run game and made themselves one dimensional. Which was great for regular season wins, but not for competing against other highly talented and more complete teams. -
Close your eyes McDermott haters…he’s a top 10 HC
DrDawkinstein replied to DJB's topic in The Stadium Wall
McD is partially responsible for the change that put them in a funk to begin with, and letting it go on too long. And I dont think he did that good of a job in 2022, especially after the Hamlin game. We slept-walked through the Pats game and the Dolphins playoff game, only winning because they were very familiar and lesser talented Division rivals, and then had a 100% team collapse against the Bengals where no one showed up ready or willing to play. JMO but thats how I see it. -
I would sign her over Tua.

They did? edit: oh, you meant right after Tomlin on this list? like #6. I'd put him ahead of Ryans and Stefanski, although Ryans could leap frog him this year. I'm 50/50 on McD. He's done well to turn the team around, but the sustained success has more to do with Josh than McD. And when the team needs to rely on a coaching move instead of a QB move, we usually drop the ball. McD is the type of coach who can take a 4-12 team to the wild card, but is also the coach who would take a 14-2 team to the wild card. Agreed he belongs on the list. But in order to take us all the way he needs to take a step forward with situational football, gameday management, team management (the FULL team, not just Defense), and having the team fired up and focused.- 668 replies

How would Buffalo perform with Kirk Cousins?
DrDawkinstein replied to Mikie2times's topic in The Stadium Wall
Even with Cousins, the Bills still have the best QB in the division. Still our division. Playoffs, you're probably right, are still a mess since a change of QB wont solve our playoff defensive woes. -
13 seconds rears its head, Gable Steveson!
DrDawkinstein replied to ddaryl's topic in The Stadium Wall
Wasnt really lack of evidence. It was the way the law was written. And to add some perspective, Steveson's case was the inspiration for Minnesota legislation to CHANGE THE LAW so this wont happen again. Under today's law, he's likely charged. -
Jerry West, NBA HOFer and logo on the NBA dies at 86
DrDawkinstein replied to Chandler#81's topic in Off the Wall
I thought I read the opposite somewhere. Obviously a lot was dramatized, for sure. But given what folks were able to get away with in the late-70s/early-80s, there were things that were actually more wild in real life. West's character was definitely over the top tho. He was always at 💯 on the show. Larry was a mean SOB when he was playing, so not sure how far off from the truth that was. -

Check out Winning Time on HBO for some classic Jerry West moments. RIP -
Is it just me, or do some arguments here drag on ad nauseam?
DrDawkinstein replied to Nephilim17's topic in The Stadium Wall
Once @Doc and @Mr. WEO get here, forget about it. -
I feel like its mostly that the literally physically look alike. Both big, baby-faced, dad-bodied white boys with sparse facial hair. Every time I see Luka, he reminds me of Josh.

Wanna buy Tyrod Taylor's house?
DrDawkinstein replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in The Stadium Wall
We shouldnt argue taxes in front of this WNY crowd Fulton is so weirdly shaped, I'm in EAV, Atlanta schools and services, but get away with only paying Dekalb taxes. About $7500 total last year! For whatever reason, I'm not surprised Tyrod has good taste. -

All good. My post was mostly to take a pretentious shot at all the OTPers around here (*cough* @Augie *cough* @Royale with Cheese) You werent wrong. Atlanta and outside of Atlanta is a very affordably priced market for being in and near such a major city. -

Well, for some perspective, he's probably spent about as much time shopping for sneakers online as you guys have spent posting on a football message board, AND he gets an entire offseason to do it. -

DrDawkinstein replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in The Stadium Wall
yes and no. This is OTP Roswell, not really Atlanta. Pretty close, but it's going to be a good 45 minute drive into the city with usual traffic, and much longer on a Friday night. If you come into the city and ITP (Inside the Perimeter), it changes significantly. Here is a mid-sized, basic 3/2 in my neighborhood for about $1M. https://www.realtor.com/realestateandhomes-detail/563-Brownwood-Ave-SE_Atlanta_GA_30316_M64970-63161?from=srp-list-card -

Very classy, much like Tyrod. Not surprised. Nice place. Yes, absolutely. -
We arent talking about the anomalies like Kamara and McCaffery. Barkley and Ekeler's contracts are new this year. Even Nick Chubb has only a $2.5M salary (with a $6M hit due to some dead cap) Follow the link: https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/rankings/player/_/year/2024/position/rb/sort/cap_total There are only 4 RBs in the entire league making more than $8M, and that's with plenty of new contracts this year. If he costs $8M+ then we've won a Super Bowl and he was MVP
-
Or it just means the market for RBs doesnt pay them well. Fine, let's say $4M, which is more than Singletary, Saquon Barkley, and Austin Ekeler just got. Plus the cap will be going up. The exact value doesnt matter. The point is, we can talk about some very good RBs that still make less than $5M/year. This isnt the WR market. If your guy performs well, and you can keep him for that cheap, you keep him.
-
Looking at the RB market: https://www.spotrac.com/nfl/rankings/player/_/year/2024/position/rb/sort/cap_total Seems like we should be able to get him re-signed around $3M/year. Let's say $3.5M. That isnt significant money, imo, and doesnt fall into "paying stars". We pay special teamers more money than that. If Cook continues to produce and improve, no reason to not extend him a few more years at that rate.

THE ROCKPILE REVIEW - Receivers are a Dime a Dozen

Kudos to the kids for figuring it out and laughing at all the lead-addled boomers who believe anything the internet tells them. A little ray of hope for the future.
-
It's just a sarcastic meme "conspiracy theory" amongst the kids to show how dumb info can be spread and believed. Yes, exactly.
-
Even more so for Sports media/journalism. Folks act like it should be some institution of integrity. It has always been merely a marketing arm for the entertainment leagues that are covered. We arent solving world hunger over here.

Grew up on that West Seneca/Depew Santora's. To the point I will never forget 668-3355. One of the few phone numbers I have memorized in the age of cell phones. I'll also throw a vote in for Pizza Heist in Depew/Lancaster. That's my family's go-to nowadays.
