  1. I dont recall off the top of my head, if it was even named, and the only articles coming up on google are behind the Buffalo News paywall. But it was the same type of firm that McNair just used on the GM hunt in Houston (and then ignored all of their suggestions and hired Cesario). Might have to ask Wawrow next time he is on.
  2. Coulda been a robbery charge from when he was a teen, or the like. Doesnt even say it has to be a felony. Dion's point still stands, he doesnt support what his brother did, but it isnt mandatory jail time in plenty of other states. And now we are getting into the weeds that Dion was trying to avoid which cloud empathy towards the person on the other side of this.
  3. I'd say the biggest difference is that they KNEW they were in over their heads with a Billion dollar NFL Franchise, and not knowing anyone in the old boys Football club. So after making their first bad decision themselves (Rex), they realized they needed help and went with an outside consulting firm to find McD. Where with hockey, they are a bigger fish in a small pond Terry has been around it a while and they think they know enough people and what they are doing and are more involved.
  4. I wont quote from the article. You all can read it and take it how you want. But I will ADD to it. A quote from Good Omens by Neil Gaiman & Terry Pratchett: “It may help to understand human affairs to be clear that most of the great triumphs and tragedies of history are caused, not by people being fundamentally good or fundamentally bad, but by people being fundamentally people.”
  5. For your reading pleasure... https://www.theplayerstribune.com/posts/i-want-to-talk-to-y-all-about-empathy-for-a-minute-01ezsfa6qfh7/ I Want to Talk to Y’all About EMPATHY for a Minute
  6. I asked the question to help point out that a lot of what was said about Watt and his search for a new team was mostly conjecture by fans, social media users, and the media. Folks made wild assumptions based on very little real information. "He wants to go to Pittsburgh!" because his brother is there. "He wants to go to Green Bay!" because he is from Wisconsin. "He wants to win a championship!" because he hasnt gone far in the playoffs over his career yet. But none of it, in this period, came from Watt himself. And now folks want to trash him and call him a liar, when he didnt really say ANYTHING since his release. There is one quote, from back in November, where he mentioned he is running out of time to win a championship in the context of the idea that the Texans may go into rebuild mode. Sure, we can use that. But it doesnt really satisfy what I was specifically looking for originally. And I certainly dont see where he "blew smoke up everyone's asses about his Super Bowl aspirations". He has ONE half-sentence about it back in November. It was the media and fans that whipped themselves up on that topic.
  7. Because he said it back in November when addressing specifically the long term plan of the Houston Texans, and what the Texans should do. A lot changed since then. Plus, he never said "I want to win a championship, and I dont care about money". So while he realized that he doesnt have 10 years left, and wants to win a championship, he also realized "I have to make as much money in that small window as I can". I was looking for quotes he put out since his release as it pertains to his Free Agency. There arent any. In any direction. Everything that folks said about what he would want were all just made-up guesses. The Rex Effect
  8. Found Mario Addison's TBD account. Your job is still safe. For now.
  9. Ehh, not really. That was his public message to Houston, the team he was on at the time, and under contract with. Could have simply been a way to set the stage to push to be released (which worked!). Different situation once he is actually a Free Agent. I'm looking for anything he said in the past month regarding any guidelines of who he would sign with. My guess is there isnt anything, because he would be stupid to disqualify teams before he saw their offers. Like I said earlier in the thread, I think both sides are dumb here, but I understand chasing that money while you can. I dont know of any quotes from the last month that would make him a "liar". I wanted to see him signed in Buffalo and agree he could have done well here, but I'm not upset or offended he went elsewhere. Especially when that team is in the NFC. Onward and Upward!
  10. Ok, close. But that was in the context of playing for the Texans and their plans back in November. Bit of a stretch when talking about the recent FA situation. I wouldnt call the Cardinals a re-build either.
  11. Where did HE say that? Someone link me to a real quote please.
  12. "I thought I hit Send on that tweet last week, but it looks like it got hung up in my Outbox!"
  13. Were there any actual, direct quote from Watt that said this? Or was that all media/social media user hype and speculation? I dont remember seeing much from Watt other than he was taking his time.
  14. Both sides look like dumbasses here. AZ way overpaid, and Watt has decided on a team that probably wont make the playoffs while he is there. I dont blame him for chasing $, but it isnt an impressive look.
  15. After watching Tampa Bay in the Super Bowl, I'm down for D Front 7 at 30
  16. Ha, first one of these that I am straight up "BYE!" Nothing much against Yeldon, but we can do better. Especially if we end up drafting Najee Harris at #30. Let Moss and Singletary battle for TJ's spot.
  17. Border Collies are for very experienced and very dedicated dog owners who have a ton of time and energy to spend on making sure their needs are met. They are the Advanced Course of Dogs.
  18. All this winning really takes the fun out of mock drafts. It's one thing to have a couple options in mind when picking #10 overall, and it's likely that one or all of them will be available. But picking #30?!? Who frickin knows. Agreed, there is almost no way any of the guys in the first 3 picks here actually makes it to us (especially Cox in the 3rd). But it's tough to say what is reasonable at #30 too.
  19. The goal is to improve the team as much as possible and at our largest areas of need, within our limited resources. My point is that while the OL can always be improved, the Offense was the least of our problems last year, and actually the strength of the team for once. I'd rather keep that as-is and prioritize resources to improve the D where we will get the most bang for our buck (biggest improvement). If we can still use resources to improve the OL, great! It just isnt a major need, imo.
  20. If we re-sign 2 out of Feliciano/Boettger/DWIlliams, and Ford comes back from injury, how big of a need is it really? Edit: Disclaimer - I'm always down for upgrading the trenches, so wouldnt be upset with an early OL pick. Just dont think it will be that much of a need compared to D Front 7.
