  1. EVERY thread can be a COVID thread if you do it right 🤯
  2. I just went back and watched some Etienne highlights again. And dang it, if he doesnt look like exactly the type of player Beane would get excited over. I dont know now.... Beane's smokescreens are working! For reference, lots of catches for big chunks of yards. Tell me these receptions wouldnt fit right in here... (bonus, no obnoxious soundtrack)
  3. One of the GMs probably asked why Beane was looking to trade up, and he sarcastically replied "For a RB of course", and now here we are with a twitter "news" story.
  4. Same. I'll participate in conversation and say I dont mind if they draft a RB at #30, but to move up... for Etienne... Beane would really be pushing my trust in our relationship to its boundaries! Gotta be a smokescreen
  5. I like the old saying "anyone with half a brain can make any statistic say whatever they want".
  6. If Josh Allen succeeds, the Bills will have outsmarted basically all regular humans and the entirety of math itself If this works, then stats really are for losers, I guess. https://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2018/4/24/17271686/josh-allen-nfl-draft-2018-stats-analysis-comparisons De-licious.
  7. I dont see many options to get what we would normally consider a "good ROI" at our first round pick. That is why I lean toward it being a CB. If someone can step in and unseat Wallace as our #2CB then that will be the biggest impact across all positions. Even a DE will be on our regular rotation, and no way does McD start a rookie over Hughes and Addison. I think our expectations on ROI need to be adjusted given where we are drafting and the talent level in this draft class.
  8. I dont think anyone would disagree with the things you state here. The problem is this draft sucks for DE talent. There isn't even a single top guy that is a MUST in the top-10. The entire "top" of the class looks to be on par with Epenesa. I dont see anyone that would step in and make an impact this year. So we can't get desperate and reach for need in the 1st.
  9. Whatever happens Thursday night, In Beane I Trust. For those bashing the pick in this mock: Given the way the draft falls and the players selected vs available, who would you have us pick instead of Etienne at this spot? Looks like all the top CBs and "top" DEs are gone already.
  10. Yet, that's exactly my point of being interested. If they pick it up and extend, it allows us to spread the signing bonus over more years. If no option, then it's higher hits right away.
  11. They're down to 8 days to do so, and a Draft to focus on during this week. I'm not sweating it or rushing it, but interested in watching them cut it close.
  12. You would think. But waiting until after the draft is going to make it interesting. It's pretty interesting because if they DONT, it means we are going to let his big 2nd contract kick in next year. Accelerating the spending instead of spreading it out. Then do it already?
  13. Funny enough, if both of those Pro Bowls count, then that is the exact reason to NOT pick up the 5th year option right now. Posted in another thread is a tweet with the guidelines that if a player makes 1 Pro Bowl the 5th year option equals the Transition Tag amount. If they made 2 Pro Bowls, the 5th year option equals the Franchise Tag amount. If that is the case, and both Pro Bowls count, then we save nothing by optioning him now. We can wait until after this season and Franchise tag him for the same amount. But at a Franchise cost of $14.7M, I'm not sure he'll be worth it either way. Even if it is the Transition tag amount, which is around $12M, not sure it's worth it. Maybe if he had his original option amount of $9M. Maybe. With the Pro Bowls and increased value, I think they ride it out and see what happens. Well, technically Monday is after the draft. If Beane can pull the trigger by 4pm! That doesnt leave him a lot of room to work, but I assume Beane knows exactly what he wants to do and when. Should be interesting.
  14. Next Monday (5/3) is the deadline for triggering the 5th year option. Will be interesting to see if Beane picks up Josh's. I think we all expected them to use the 5th year AND an extension, when working on Josh's new deal. You'd expect to hear about it before the draft starts at least.
  15. Will be the first QB to start week 1, 3 years in a row, since the Browns returned to the NFL.
  16. This board is great training for new parents. It teaches how to give the same consistent answer when the kids ask the same question 100 different ways to try to trip you up.
  17. For all-time best, it's tough to argue against Neil Young and Rush (although I'm not much of a Rush fan, I still get it). The Tragically Hip will always be up there for me. For some lesser known greats from the 90s: The Tea Party Odds Our Lady Peace Glueleg I Mother Earth Moist The Headstones The Tea Party being the best of the bunch. They were like a grungy Zeppelin. Some classic early-90s styles here...
  18. This seems like some folks making a mountain out of absolutely nothing. Who cares why it was abandoned? No laws have been broken. Diggs can afford it, even if he had to replace the entire truck.
  19. Listen, I'm going to hate Tom Brady, and that's the way it's going to be.
  20. The RBs Knox Addison Morse Wallace In that order, weakest at the top, imo. I think Beane will go CB at #30. Not based just on need, but because that will likely be the position with BPA as well. And while I think Wallace isnt the worst of the bunch, getting some 1st round talent in there at CB2 would have the biggest impact as well. Most bang for our buck.
  21. Schwartz, with a nod to Wade I like that Wide-9. I like the way he used personnel. I liked the aggressiveness on D compared to what we currently get out of the Tampa 2.
  22. Another classic example of Tom Brady thinking he is in charge of the rules. And I cant blame him with the way the League has handled it for 20 years. How did he survive playing college football? It's pretty much wide open, and he did just fine.
