  1. Jiminy Crickets, I had already forgotten the details of that trade. THREE 1sts, and not for the #1 or even the #2 overall! Horrible trade. And with the Dolphins no less. Ugh.
  2. I imagine that during the offseason, and especially in the lead up to the draft, there are all sorts of wild offers made between various teams. Lot of it is just testing the waters, starting conversations that lead to other/real topics, and seeing "what if".
  3. Ahh, i see this isnt your first draft day at TBD
  4. LETS GOOOOOO Only 13 more hours until we all get to say "WHO?!? eh, ok..."
  5. I was being a bit hyperbolic. Of course he'll need to block sometimes. But it should be few enough that we arent that worried about it. Plus, blocking IS something that can be taught.
  6. This is exactly what my experience as well. If we had these threads not even a month ago, I'd be posting differently. Heck, even last week. But after hearing the rumors, from so many different outlets, I went back and watched Etienne film with this in mind. And he really does look like a player Beane would move mountains to add to this offense. I'm just as happy with a CB, WR, OL. The only reason I shy away from DE is because of the lack of talent in this draft. But if Beane went there then I trust he knows something I dont. I still feel deep down that when the pick comes up, CB will give us the BPA left on the board. But this talk about ETN this week sure has been fun.
  7. The Bucs relied heavily on Fournette through the playoffs and he want #3 overall. KC has a 1st rd back on their team too.
  8. Exactly, @NewEra The Bills were up 9-7 in the 2nd quarter against KC, and desperately needed to sustain the drive and get some points (especially a TD). Instead Singletary dropped an easy pass and killed the drive. We punt to KC who goes right down the field for a TD, takes the lead, and never looks back. Sustaining drives and keeping Mahomes off the field is the best way to defend KC.
  9. Dont make me defend Shaq when I never said anything worth defending. My statement was literally: He did alright... considering... Considering he was taken at #19, not top-10 or even top half of the round. Considering he was forced upon us/Whaley by Rex who just had to have him for his system. Considering there wasnt another DE in the 2016 draft that we would have been better off taking, looking at who went in the rest of the 1st and 2nd. You could say Ngakoue who went in the 3rd, but that would have been a reach and not in Rex's system (see above). Considering he had a bad shoulder and needed surgery. Etc... Considering all that, he did alright. Not great. Alright. But certainly less of a bust than Watkins and Spiller given their relative draft positions. I also believe that if he had returned to Buffalo instead of going to Miami, he would have had a better season last year. Anyways. On to ETN
  10. Disagree. He should be out in the flat catching the hot route pass and turning it up field for 15 yards. If we keep him in to block at all, THEN it is a wasted pick.
  11. Absolutely. And to that same end, if he ISNT correct about our pick, I wont call him a hack. I dont doubt Beane has some interest in ETN, but to guess who will be available at 30 is almost impossible.
  12. Much like the Roulette Results board in a casino, past results don't mean much for predicting the current pick. It was far easier to hit on our pick when we were consistently picking in or near the Top 10. I feel like even I accurately predicted our picks, going back to at least Gilmore. And I dont know anything. Now, if he nails this pick, then THAT is something to brag about, and I'll give him a lot of credit going into next year's mocks. Shaq did alright, considering.
  13. Considering we were pretty close to the top last year? Maybe. Especially when our biggest issue when we got close to the top was not being able to sustain drives, score points, control the clock, and keep the other team off the field. We arent rebuilding. We arent even really building anymore. We are tweaking and bolstering. Now would be the time to make this kind of move.
  14. My "unexpected" pick that Beane surprises us with: Greg Rousseau Hasn't been talked a lot around here. Probably would be the top DE pick if he hadnt sat out and had another season like 2019.
  15. Thanks for digging these up. Entertaining way to kill a few minutes as we get through these longest 36 hours ever... Will be interesting to see what happens with Rosseau, maybe that is Beane's secret/surprise target at #30!
  16. Funny! But... Rumors are that the Pats and Carolina already have something in place to get the Pats up to #8. Gilmore would definitely not mind going him to the Carolina area. Could see him being fine with going there. Could see the Panthers happy to bring him in. Just sayin.
  17. That is my understanding as well.
  18. Kirby tried to bring "classic" Alabama football to UGA and stuck with Fromm over Fields. Meanwhile, Saban evolved and moved to a dynamic passer with Tua and left Kirby/UGA in the dust. If he could go back, I wonder if Kirby doesnt try to make Fields work instead.
  19. Ha! That does change things. Maybe right in the same draft, Lamar Jackson. But before that... Johnny Manziel? Cam Newton?
  20. I will say, Beane's smokescreen has completely worked on me. 48 hours ago I wasnt much of an Etienne fan and hated the idea. But the more that comes out about it, the more I have bought into it. And thinking about him catching those wide-open underneath passes in space... ooo wee Beane blowing that smokescreen into my brain...
  21. Gonna leave this here too as a fun read. https://www.reddit.com/r/nyjets/comments/8f7qv3/bills_traded_up_for_josh_allen_upvote_party/ Jets fans celebrating on Draft Night in 2018 and laughing at us. Aged like milk.
