  1. That's the playoffs, been that way forever and across most sports. McDermott's team of Gentlemen need to figure that out. I bet they have.
  2. That is your payroll system withholding that money because they use an aggregate method. You get it back when you file your taxes. Even if the bonus is considered supplemental income, the tax rate there is only 22% (or 25%?) in the end.
  3. They wouldnt need to override the 5th year. Just tack the new contract onto the end. Much like the Eagles did with Wentz, and the Texans did with Watson. And like we did with Tre White. Since they executed the 5th year option, he is technically on year 4 of a 5 year deal. Any extension would be added on after, unless they chose to override it. That 5th year is worth $23M, I dont think the average of his new contract will be any less, so might as well keep the 5th year in place and get an extra year out of it. Really, my only question is if teams can spread bonuses from extensions into the existing contracts. Which I think they can do, but can't find any good evidence either way.
  4. If they extend Josh now, and keep his 5th year as-is, can't they spread some of his new contract bonus into this year to lessen the hits over the life of the new contract? For example, if new contract is 5 years with a $60M bonus (just making up numbers), they can spread that bonus out over all 6 years so it's a $10M/yr hit and not a $12M/year. No?
  5. It's pretty funny, if nothing else. For what it's worth, I like Scott and his posting, even if he comes off as a negative-nancy sometimes. But I also like busting his chops about it just as much.
  6. Making the playoffs his first year, even after a mini-tank with starting Peterman. Haha, even the brand new posters know the deal.
  7. And he's still wearing shades! Great guy. He used to live in a townhouse in West Seneca, close to where I grew up. My friends and I would ride our bikes by, and sometimes stop in and ring his doorball (the few times we actually worked up the courage). And he always answered the door and was super nice, would come out and chat with a bunch of 11 year olds. He also did a volunteer Fashion Show for charity at my elementary school, and was just the nicest dude to everyone.
  8. It's stuff like this why I often make the tongue-in-cheek statement of "The salary cap is a myth".
  9. I've been saying the whole time, just give him some guaranteed money and he'll be happy for a little longer. Easy peasy. Glad they got it done. Cant wait to see what comes of this.
  10. Yeah, he parked in Economy for 3 weeks. I wouldnt even leave my wife's crappy Corolla there for more than a weekend. Dumbass.
  11. Seems to be down everywhere, but I found it in this Pat McAfee clip for anyone who hasnt seen it yet.
  12. Seems like this is still low. Or at least lower than it would have been without COVID and everything continuing on normally. Cap was going up by about $10M each year. 2016 - $155M 2017 - $167M 2018 - $177M 2019 - $188M 2020 - $198M Extrapolating... non-COVID 2021 - ~$208M non-COVID 2022 - ~$218M Instead, we get... 2021 - $188M 2022 - MAX $208M Still some catching up to do.
  13. I dont follow golf much, but am attending the Tour Championship at East Lake this September. Will these guys be there?
  14. Roman isnt a great comparison, imo. Everyone in the league knows who/what he is and what he does. He deserved some kudos in 2019 for re-crafting an offense to fit a very specific player, but most teams don't want to operate that way. I dont think he got any looks after he helped lead the 9ers to Super Bowl 48 either. Teams know who he is and dont care for his system. If Josh and Co put up another season like they did last year, Daboll will be the hot commodity.
  15. Because I'm not trying to bang it into anyone's head, or convince anyone I'm "right", regarding my opinion on a hypothetical draft scenario. It doesnt matter that much. And as I said right away, I only half believe in this, but was kicking it around for the sake of offseason conversation. I only came back because I made two innocuous posts that for some reason prompted Badol to start quoting and tagging me in posts, and misrepresenting what I said, and conflating my statement with a bunch of others. Y'all are being real silly about it.
  16. Bengals are an interesting idea. I could see them firing Taylor after 3 years, and Burrow is the best QB on that list of teams imo. I also wonder if they would go hard at Joe Brady if he can turn Darnold around at all this year, and try to reunite him with Burrow.
  17. I understand that is your opinion, yes.
  18. This is a ridiculous ask when all I'm asserting is he could be better than Moss and Singletary and therefore would help improve the offense.
  19. For what it's worth, word is that most teams are in the same boat and ZERO teams have met the 30% vax rate.
  20. Because I was never arguing what was being projected onto my posts. And clarified I was not thinking ETN would be a savior or someone who carries the team. Simply better than Moss and Singletary. If he performs as well as almost ANY of the numerous 1st round RBs, then we improve. Marshawn Lynch, Gurley, Fournette, etc. What part has never happened? What are you saying is totally impossible from ever occurring? Where are you even coming up with this BS? THIS is why I dipped out of the conversation. Folks want to project all sorts of crazy stuff onto my posts, just because I said "I think he could be better than Moss and Singletary, and therefore help improve the offense".
  21. Already addressed. Never argued to do either of those things. Again, read the thread. Or maybe reply to someone else who DID actually argue those things.
  22. No *****, sherlock. It's even more obvious now that you didnt actually read any of my posts. I've said that much at least twice in this thread.
  23. I obviously deserve the targeting for daring to post such controversial and extreme opinions such as:
  24. Your opinion is noted. But you are really close to the old "Dont draft a player from x college or state, because a bunch of other players from there didnt work out"
  25. Because that is much like the Roulette Past Results Board at the casino. It provides no real proof or even idea of what will actually happen next. Different players on different teams in different eras. It is only proof of what has happened, not what will happen.
