Stephon Gilmore wants more money.
DrDawkinstein replied to TBBills's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hilarious to see Tre White at the top of the list and Gilmore can't crack the top-10. Maybe shouldn't have been so quick to bail on Buffalo for more "time in the spotlight". Doesnt seem to have been the best paying plan. Meanwhile, Tre is chasing those "Daddy Pegula" checks! -
John McAfee, antivirus software creator, found dead in Spanish prison
DrDawkinstein replied to T&C's topic in Off the Wall
It may have ended badly, but it was always going to end badly. And I'd say it ended far better than most expected it would. Quick, and relatively painless, and only after a short time behind bars. After a 30 year run of paying underage girls to poop on you through a hammock, what more can you ask for? But again, maybe just pay your taxes and not have to worry about it. 🤷♂️ -
John McAfee, antivirus software creator, found dead in Spanish prison
DrDawkinstein replied to T&C's topic in Off the Wall
Anyone else with the headline "found dead in a Spanish prison" I'd be like "WHOOA, what happened?". But with McAfee, my initial response was "...that's it?" This guy sure... lived life to it's fullest... to say the least. Certainly took the Cole Beasley advice of "rather die living", and usually made as much sense as that line. But so dumb to have to go out like that over wanting to avoid paying a little bit of taxes. I guess at 75 years, he had a good run. -
Cole Beasley is good with the football

I had to adjust his "Chewing" rating from a 31 to a 32. -
Cole Beasley is good with the football
DrDawkinstein replied to Draconator's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
For what it's worth, I cut Beasley from my Madden team during his meltdown, and replaced him with Sanders, and haven't missed a beat. Still undefeated. -
Folks will go to the games either way. I've always told the "I'll stop going if it's downtown/domed/no tailgating" crowd that the NFL wont miss them if they stop going, and plenty of other fans will take their places. Works both ways. Although, those of us who think the stadium should/will go downtown usually arent threatening a boycott if it doesn't. Everyone is already used to it this way. Win-win for me really. I just see a downtown, multi-purpose development as a step forward for the city. But if they want to keep the football team in the 1950s, then so be it.

Agreed on no retractable roof. It's a nice thought, but it's more fantasy. A retractable roof adds a ton of cost (likely another 30-40%), they NEVER work well, and it absolutely would not be used like most Bills fans hope. They wouldnt be able to open it for snow. Only on totally calm, clear, sunny days. So what's the point?

Carl Nassib Announces He is Gay
DrDawkinstein replied to aristocrat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
With all due respect, my man, this is the dumbest ***** I've ever seen you post. There are TONS of masculine homosexual men in the world. Rednecks, Cops, Military, Athletes, Hunters, Tradesmen, Farmers, etc, etc, etc. Again, check out Rugby. Surprisingly large amount (almost majority) of gay players. -
WFT having difficulties trade marking the name
DrDawkinstein replied to TroutDog's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Even if the guy wants $100k, just pay it. It's (another) bad look for Snyder. Just buy the name and move on. Wouldn't have even been a news story. But now we all know he got out-maneuvered by some nobody. -
Carl Nassib Announces He is Gay

All good, and your point is a good one, and should probably be said here. Just wasn't what I was saying. You need to know more gay men, or make more friends with Rugby players. -
Carl Nassib Announces He is Gay
DrDawkinstein replied to aristocrat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No duh. But when you have a secret you are worried about getting out, and think that secret could change how others think of you in the hyper-masculine setting of the NFL... THAT can affect your attitude. That's why I said I wonder if he was acting like a jerk because he was overcompensating for a secret, or if he is just normally a jackass. -
As long as they can control your thermostat remotely, you'll be just fine down there. Secondary thought: Can they use those thermostats to mine crypto?

Carl Nassib Announces He is Gay
DrDawkinstein replied to aristocrat's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Interesting. He always came off as kinda an over-aggressive jackass thinking back the the Cleveland Browns Hard Knocks. Although, there is no way of telling whether that was due to him overcompensating for his secret... or if he is just a jackass regardless. It's not like Ryan Nassib was Mr Personality or well-liked either. -
Bills working out DT Eli Ankou (update: signed)
DrDawkinstein replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
More so just to save them the reps and fatigue, I'd think. -
You can think that. I get my info from someone who works at the Project Management company which has overseen stadium builds in Atlanta, DC, and Seattle, and who was personally in the preliminary meetings up in Buffalo which Byron Brown and other city reps were also part of. The city is just another layer. State, County, City. All need to be on-board. State and County get theirs no matter which site they choose. Might be easier at the OP site since most of that is county-owned land. But the downtown site has plenty of parts under the city's jurisdiction. I know for a fact there were things the city reps brought up which threw a monkey wrench into the process very early on. Wouldn't be surprised if that was still occurring.

This is why the Pegulas waited until the team was winning to start all of this. "Threatening" that the team will have to move works far better when we're a perennial playoff contender than in year 20 of a drought. Heck, some of us may have welcomed the break from the team had this occurred in the 2010s!

You're both right. Josh's recent injury, Tre White basically "opting out" for the week, and the uncertainty of the weeks scheduling threw us off our game. Meanwhile, all the backlash helped steel the Titans that week and they showed up ready and PO'ed, and knocked us around. Not to mention a gameplan that had Josh throw his first pass of the game to.. *checks notes*... Andre Roberts (which lead to a pop-up interception). There were multiple factors that played into us getting handed our worst butt-whooping of the season at the hands of the Nashville Plague Rats.
