  1. I wouldnt even do the picks. It has to be an immediate impact player who can start and improve a position this year. Just as Trubisky would do for them. Brandon Scherff or no deal. edit: I miiiiiight be convinced for a 1st since they'll be an early pick, but I'd have to really think about it. And I dont think they'd give up a 1st anyways.
  2. It's only an issue if our entire offense drops and we arent winning. But it hasnt and we arent, so... no, not an issue. He doesnt seem to have a problem with it either. So triple no. Considering we run the same play book and scheme, it would make sense.
  3. As usual, spot on. And exactly why I've said we simply dont match up well against the Titans (and to a lesser extent the Steelers in the opener). They are built to take full advantage of our weaknesses.
  4. And really, we usually beat ourselves when it comes to losses. For what it's worth, I'm not "scared" of them, but beating the Titans and Bengals has me feeling a type of way about playing the Jets in a couple weeks. They stink, but play well against good teams, or at least get good teams to play down to their level. We'll see.
  5. My hot take: I'd rather re-sign Oliver than Edmunds. Like mentioned earlier in the thread, Ed has flashed a bunch this year. And has had a couple real solid games, including yesterday. I think he's finally being put in a position to succeed now that Star is back. Definitely picking up his 5th year option and going from there.
  6. It isnt just against us though. They were talking averages across all games. Those guys just get the ball out quick.
  7. There is no such thing as running up the score in Pro sports. Or even college sports for that matter. You dont like it, stop them. It would be more disrespectful to take a knee when we cant even run out the clock. And it isnt like we passed it in, Josh ran it in himself. WRT the 2 point conversion, the math says do it to go up three scores, but even if it didnt I refer back to Woody Hayes... ***** the Dolphins.
  8. All the uncalled holds dont help, but the bigger thing (and they showed this in a graphic yesterday) is how quickly the QBs we have faced are getting the ball out of their hand. Ben, Tua, and Tannehill all get the ball out so quick, it's tough to get to them. But the pressure we DO apply forces those quick throws which sometimes forces mistakes.
  9. The stats are padded by those two shut outs against terrible teams. However, they are still a killer defense, and it isnt their fault, they play who is on the schedule. Other "#1 rates" teams had schedules against some easy teams too. It's how it works, and it all balances out in the end. They are definitely a top 10, and even top 5 defense. Where exactly they land in that, doesnt really matter.
  10. Definitely teared up when I saw this earlier. Such an awesome player, but more so a great guy, who has been through so much. Well deserved. Congrats, Chris.
  11. I'd just yell "VICTORY FORMATION!"
  12. Seated at a table - absolutely leaving them alone. But in other situations, you can play it cool, and still have a great interaction without bugging a player. When I saw Ted Washington grocery shopping at BJs and we passed in the aisle I just gave him a "Big Ted, you the man" and a thumbs up and he smiled and was cool about it, but I ended it there. Saw Ronald Darby his rookie year at the mall and gave him a "Hey 2-8, have a great season" in passing, with no further expectation, and he turned around to approach me and chat. When I ran into Karlos Williams at Gabe's Gate and just gave him a quick nod and thumbs up, again he approached me, but that is because my wing order had just arrived and that fatty was trying to get my wings! Point is, acknowledging a player is usually fine as long as you arent expecting any big interaction or autograph. Give em a nod, a thumbs up, a "Go Bills!" and keep it moving. There are so many different levels of this though. Makes for an interesting conversation. But at the end of the day, even if it was "really bad", I'd have a tough time feeling sorry for them given the money they are making and how quickly that spotlight burns out anyways.
  13. "Yeah, I get paid millions of dollars for playing a game, but every time I try to leave the house people want to approach me and tell me they love me and how awesome I am. It gets rough."
  14. Ehh, I'm not one for approaching celebs in public or bothering them in their day, but they work a job that pays well because of how high profile it is. If having to deal with fans (who worship you, btw) when out in public is the worst part of making $258M before you are 30, then I dont feel so bad for them.
  15. https://www.kxan.com/news/texas/longhorns-linebacker-jake-ehlinger-died-of-accidental-overdose-family-says/ Bummer. Not too surprising, another overdose from fentanyl-laced drugs (assuming cocaine, but could have been pills).
  16. The NIMBYs are still upset about the silos being painted like Labatt's cans.
  17. I am surprised at how sensitive and serious Sabres fans here are over a joke about the two teams we love. The Sabres have stunk (real bad) for some time now. Something we're all in together. If we cant laugh at it, what can we do?
  18. Cant have poor drafting if you trade away all your draft picks for a rapist the owner loves.
  19. Just a reminder that the Dolphins passed on Herbert. LOOOOOOOL
  20. This is where I am. He is definitely better than what they have now, but adding him just means we beat them 35-10 instead of 35-0.
  21. Can anyone decipher WTF this means? Team and player-wise, that is...
  22. While you arent wrong, and I am not excusing their performance (or lack there of), the entire 2019 Draft Class pretty much sucked or does suck. Outside of Murray and Bosa, and maybe a handful of other players, it is looking like a very weak class all around. If you look at the player selections, I'm not sure what else Beane should have done at #9. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2019_NFL_Draft Forget everyone that went ahead of us because they are not options (although half of those top 8 picks suck too). Looking at the rest of the list... no one jumps off the page as the obvious "We missed on THIS guy". Maybe Montez Sweat. Maybe DK Metcalf in the 2nd (but that likely means no Diggs trade the next year, so pick your guy there). Just a weak draft class. It happens. And sometimes you get the exact opposite like the class of 2011. Whooo wee! What a class of talent that was... See above. Not sure who else we shouldve taken, especially at 9. And any/every DL we take will be a "rotational DL" for us. That is how we operate. Not Ed's fault.
  23. This was my biggest observation regarding penalties on punts. Andre Smith trying to get himself cut from the team. Dont block in the back. Dont hold. Would rather have our returner tackled at the spot than lose another 10 yards.
