Dolphins Hire Wes Welker as WR coach
DrDawkinstein replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
This is actually Miami's best move of the offseason so far. Still not worried about the Dolphins, but good hire. Maybe true if comparing to the rest of the coaches already in the building, but this would pretty much guarantee an outside hire. Dude isnt even close to being ready to be an OC, and I dont know that he'll ever be. He's a great position coach, but it's a whole different level running, designing, and calling an offense. -
Not sure I can fully agree since scoring merely 10 points against the Jags would've put us in the #2 seed and the Chiefs game in Buffalo. I get your overall point, but football is a game of inches. The littlest things are what usually makes the difference between winning and losing, between winning a Championship and going home early.

Yep, that is exactly the time the HC is supposed to step in. We all know the now famous story of Reid telling Mahomes "when things look grim, be the grim reaper". Reid didnt stand in the background not talking to anyone and letting Bienimy handle it with Mahomes. Take control, Sean!

I'm not pushing to fire McD or anything crazy like that, but it BLOWS MY MIND that during the long TV timeout between TD and Kickoff McDermott didnt go directly to Bass himself, grab him by the facemask and tell him EXACTLY where to kick that ball. Even more so since we went for 2, and Bass was on the sideline, available to be coached at any moment. Same for the Defense. We called timeouts before each play. McD is directly accountable for what happened. This is literally his job to step in and set exactly what we want to do in that situation. Oh well, on to 2022...

Late to this 16 page thread, but here's my two cents anyways... I dont put a single ounce of weight on that blurb mentioned in the Flores lawsuit. Folks complain about their jobs and bosses all the time, even when they are generally happy. There are lots of big egos in the NFL and they often clash. But at the end of the day, these guys are all grown adults who are focused on the same end goal. Even if there hadnt been a single disagreement the entire time Daboll was here, he is still taking the Giants HC job. And on the other side, McD has an eye on Dorsey's development as the OC-in-waiting and has been looking for an opportunity to get him promoted before we lose him. If I had to put money on it, I'd guess that everyone involved considers everyone else a friend and respected colleague.

Should the Bills extend Edmunds?
DrDawkinstein replied to Victory Formation's topic in The Stadium Wall
Agreed with your first sentence, but scared the Bills think differently on your second sentence. Literally almost anyone. Klein has stepped in a couple times and we havent missed a beat. As a matter of fact, iirc, Klein came in and immediately made plays and tipped balls in pass defense. If we can trade Edmunds and keep Klein at his $7M, I'm all for it. -
Matt Damon? 😆

Giants are hiring Don "Wink" Martindale as their DC
DrDawkinstein replied to Greg S's topic in The Stadium Wall
Giants staff is definitely already an upgrade over last year. Although that shouldnt be hard to do. I stopped following after we landed Dorsey. Did they get an OC yet? -
How bad is it for Lesile Frazier?
DrDawkinstein replied to Marvlevydraftdaygenius's topic in The Stadium Wall
You're right. Players just show up for their job and collect their check. But the drama for the documentary isnt with the players on the field. It's with ownership, his neighbor/buddy lawyer, Easterby, and their handling of both Watson and the HC spot. And we all know the Owner and FO set the tone for the entire team. -
Get ready for an onslaught of Crypto commercials.

I'd rather be the Bills DC than take most of the open HC jobs on trash teams with garbage FOs. -
Pats hire Joe Judge back, may not hire an OC
DrDawkinstein replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Seems like a great environment for their project QB to develop in. Lol, trash. -
Beach chairs are back! (Kromer hired as OL Coach)

What 14 year old kid doesnt need at least one good punch in the face? Especially a punk Florida teen. Good hire, glad he is back. Really like the changes to the O staff so far. -
Should the Bills extend Edmunds?
DrDawkinstein replied to Victory Formation's topic in The Stadium Wall
I get that. But in the context of "Should we extend Edmunds (likely for $12M+/year)?", it's not unfair to compare him to the best. His stats show he isnt up there with the best. And when you watch actual game footage, he looks even worse. Eyeball test, he can't hold a candle to Kuechly, playing the same position, in the same D, for the same coach, with the same amount of DL talent in front of him. -
Interesting. Any word on who McDaniels is hiring in LV?

Should the Bills extend Edmunds?

That's why I'm hoping for a player/player trade instead of for picks. Find a CB or OL that hasnt lived up to their hype either, and could use a change of scenery, and see what happens. Like the Hughes/Sheppard trade. -
Should the Bills extend Edmunds?

Edmunds is the lowest in every category you posted, but it must be "hating" to say he's not as good? Wow, the mental gymnastics here. Kinda funny that you can post real numbers in a side by side comparison, show him to be the worst, and still say "I've already made up my mind that he is good". But its "haters" saying he isnt good. Got it. -
Will the Titans go after Mitch Trubisky?
DrDawkinstein replied to notwoz's topic in The Stadium Wall
Titans just signed Tannehill to a big contract. He's a $38M cap hit this year, $57.4M dead cap hit if they move him. I think they are locked in with Tannehill. -
It's not worth worrying about the Salary Cap. Even if it's to have a budget in mind when thinking about FAs. If there is someone out there Beane wants, he'll figure out a way to make it work. Like when he went after JJ Watt last year, that would not have been a cheap signing and we were already up against the cap. Fans shouldnt get too bogged down in cap space

Dan Snyder will not survive the 2022 season

DrDawkinstein replied to stuvian's topic in The Stadium Wall
Reading back, it seems Richardson was already thinking about selling since both of his sons had left the team operations years before. He announced his intent to sell the team before the NFL even started its investigation. Pretty much the same day the Sports Illustrated story dropped. Not exactly the same as how Snyder has handled it. And so far, the NFL hasnt really had to force anyone out. edit: SI story dropped Dec 17, 2017. Richardson announced his intent to sell Dec 18. -

Tough to compare the NBA, and the way Silver and those owners run that league, with the drunken fratboy free-for-all of NFL ownership. -

DrDawkinstein replied to stuvian's topic in The Stadium Wall
Who is going to force these guys out? Goodell works for them. And the other owners (like Irsay, Haslam, Jones, etc) certainly don't want to start holding each other accountable since they're almost all dirty dogs in some way or another. Even though they should be removed, Snyder and Ross aren't going anywhere. -
Should the Bills extend Edmunds?
DrDawkinstein replied to Victory Formation's topic in The Stadium Wall
How about we ask him to make a simple tackle? How about diagnosing the run play and hitting the proper gap instead of getting caught in the wash? How about making a play in the passing game, since that is supposedly where his value comes in with all that length and athleticism? Unless you think our scheme is asking our MLB to bounce off of RBs, over-persue and over-commit, be outrun on coverage, and generally just be ineffective. The kid just doesnt have the instincts or awareness to make the most basic of plays, regardless of what is being asked of him in the scheme. Call me a hater, I dont care. Calling me a name doesnt change the fact that Edmunds STINKS. -
