OL coach Bobby Johnson headed to NY, has signed contract
DrDawkinstein replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
The "migration continues"?!?!? 🤣 They got 1 guy. I love that this was posted when they were all chuffed up about landing Dorsey. Suck it, New Jersey. -
Just because we run Josh doesnt mean he's taking big hits. Quite the opposite actually. Dude is juking players out of their cleats, getting down or out of bounds, and even when he is tackled isnt taking big shots. More defenders have been injured trying to tackle Josh, than Josh has been injured getting tackled. Sure the risk is always there, but I think you are overplaying it a bit. We should always have Josh's running abilities as an option. It creates mismatches, and keeps the D thinking.

I'd think that would go more to the new QB coach. We all love Hall, but he seems like more of a technique guy who is a great positional coach, than an Xs and Os guy who is drawing up plays and calling them.

I havent seen a better option proposed in any of the threads or articles. It's slim pickins out there with everyone after young Offensive-minded coaches. Heck, Mike Shula's name was thrown around. 🤮 Any better ideas you know of?

I noticed that grey beard while they were getting the NFC trophy and was surprised. Whitworth is goood. Could go out on a high note this year tho. And then I REALLY have no chance of playing.

What's the best advice anyone ever gave you?
DrDawkinstein replied to WhoTom's topic in Off the Wall
Half joke, half serious... I was about 12 years old and at a Bisons game with my dad. Hot blonde comes walking up the aisle and with my 12 year old hormones, I'm basically entranced and staring at her all the way up. My dad leans over and says "Just remember - someone, somewhere, is sick of ***** that." It was kinda surprising since my dad never even swore around us growing up, let alone say something so crass. But he was right. And it helped me keep a perspective of not always chasing the next hot piece of ass, and that if the fire was dying a little in my current relationship that it is a natural part of being with someone for a long time, and you need to work at it. -
While I'm elated to have him out of the league and out of our lives, this is a bitter-sweet moment for me. Tom is a couple years older than me. And as long as he was playing, I could keep my dream of being a professional athlete alive. Now, Los Angeles Rams offensive tackle Andrew Whitworth, who turned 40 years old on Dec. 12 is currently the oldest player in the NFL. He's a young buck compared to me. My playing days are obviously done. RIP my football career.

Couple of points... 1. You should be banned for even mentioning Eichel in the same sentence as Allen, let alone comparing them. 2. When we need crucial yards, you put the ball in the hands of your best player on the field. That is JFA. 3. YAC was low, but Josh's Air Yards per Pass was high. It's a trade off. Teams with high YAC often throw low yardage bubble screens. 4. Absolutely did not use Davis enough. And then blew our cover for next year in the last game of the season so we wont have the ability to "surprise" anyone with him.

Giants cap situation and potential trade options
DrDawkinstein replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Edmunds for Bradberry, straight up. -
We're talking about Dorsey and the OC spot.
-
Right. Like how dumb or privileged do you have to be to see an opportunity to interview for an extremely limited, extremely sought after position as a bad thing? "not getting a job because of being a certain colour" is DEFINITELY the answer for which should piss someone off more.

He played all the way through college, so that doesnt refute my point at all.
-
Yeah, I have a hard time making that cross over as well. Especially in Football. It's a bit different in Basketball and Hockey where women actually play from a young age, through college, and even professionally. It may not be the same level of competition, but they at least have "been there". Hiring a woman football coach is like hiring Todd Haley. The second the going gets tough, players start telling him to go back to golf.

Bills interviewing Raiders WR coach Edgar Bennett for OC

It was beyond Agents. But not much better. Mostly "blog reporters" from the Giants' world. That's an issue with the person making the assumption, not the rule.

It could equally tell us that Dorsey agreed to stay, but since we HAVE to interview at least 1 minority candidate before making a hire we are doing some guys some favors, and expanding our network, and looking for replacements for some position coaches. -
Bills request to interview Tee Martin for OC Job
DrDawkinstein replied to 17islongenough's topic in The Stadium Wall
The knock on Payton is that he'd essentially be a 1-year rental and gone once the Dallas HC spot opens up in 2023. Which could be fine, and gives us more time to find the up-and-comer we really want to hire. But will cause more instability and turn over when Payton leaves and tries to take guys with him too. -

I mean, do some even basic research dude. Compare his resume to Dorsey's. He's been with the Ravens 1 season. He isnt the GM, so he isnt drafting or signing WRs. He coached Brown for only this past season (his first decent one). -

Some other interesting stuff from his wiki page... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tee_Martin -
Bad opinion, given its effectiveness and simplicity. But you are entitled to it.

Then who else are the Giants interviewing besides Dorsey? Given this expansion of the rule, sure seems like all those reports from Saturday night saying Giants offered a deal to Dorsey and it was as good as done were a little... premature? Not surprising for the Twitterverse, and most of those tweets were from Giants-based folk.

Still a better position to be in than all the other assistant coaches who didnt even get a call or an interview. The folks in here talking about interview experience and networking are exactly right. This is ALL benefiting the candidates. There is literally no downside for them. Tee Martin isnt doing anything else right now. -
Brian Daboll hired to be Head Coach of NY Giants

Any word on Dorsey/OC this morning?
