  1. I cant see him going to a franchise that is so poorly managed.
  2. First off, thanks for the thought out response. Don't get me wrong. I tailgate. Have been since I started going to games with my dad in 1987 (had to tailgate that strike year because, again, it was the only thing that made going worth it, haha). And just had a pretty decent party when I was up for the Washington game in September. I fully understand and appreciate the tradition and what it provides to the gameday experience. And you will absolutely be able to do that at a new downtown stadium. Especially the RVs. That is good money for the Bills, and they arent going to lose it. I havent been to a single downtown stadium that didn't still have some (plenty) of tailgating available. Even Nashville which I referenced for its proximity to bars, has a ton of parking for tailgating. Jacksonville is downtown and on the water, and still has a ton of tailgating (Lot X 4EVA!). Pittsburgh, plenty of tailgating. There might be one or two out there, but few and far between. The Pegulas/Bills understand what a huge part of the brand's identity is centered around tailgating. They will do what they can to get rid of the table jumping and butt-chugging, but they will absolutely have parking lots to tailgate in. There is too much merch to sell, and money to make by charging to park in their special tailgate lots. The beauty of the downtown stadium is the potential to provide BOTH tailgating and an indoor/bar experience option. Not just one.
  3. If he went to the Caribbean, he is definitely vaxxed. But I dont know that he did.
  4. Absolutely, which is why I want their money for the WNY region. NYC is good for $2B by breakfast. Git r dun.
  5. You know you're paying for SoFi stadium and you dont even LIKE those teams, right? It's about time NYC and Albany chip in to help Buffalo have nice things.
  6. Maybe, but a lot of that has to do with never having a team or basing your entire identity on said team in the first place. Ripping the Bills out of Buffalo would leave a crater that could never be filled. Not saying it's healthy to be this way, but it's where we are at.
  7. I'd combine them, but have the Bulls play at the new downtown stadium. Doing so also brings the net cost of the new Bills stadium down, since the State is going to have to pay for a new UB stadium anyways. If they were going to spend $100M(?) on a new UB stadium, well that is $100M you could theoretically "credit" off the price of the new Bills stadium. Ehh, I dont fully disagree with the overall thought, but again, there is a price to be paid for having/keeping something that we otherwise wouldnt get. From an NFL perspective, the region can not support a team like most other markets. From a local fan perspective, wtf would we do if we let the team go? What would we even have left in Buffalo?
  8. I can confirm this. This is me. Give me a lite rail from the airport right to downtown, and I'm in heaven.
  9. How funny would it be if Love came in and lit it up, and made it obvious the Packers could move on from Rodgers immediately. LOL
  10. We (Buffalo) kinda do. It makes little sense that there is even an NFL team in Buffalo, given the size of the market. If the league were starting today we would most definitely not have a team. And wouldnt even be in the Plan B list. Partially paying for a new stadium is the price of having a team in a location that cant be justified in any other way. And keep in mind, this cost gets spread out over the whole state, Albany and NYC, not just WNY. Let NYC chip in to let us have our nice thing.
  11. Essential Oils that he is also selling. #BeYourOwnBoss #MLMHun
  12. No one knows 100%, but I would hope Beane made it a requirement before handing the dude a quarter of a Billion dollars.
  13. I really dont give a crap about tailgating. There will still be tailgating options, and I'd bet you would see a number of private lots open up as well. But I'm here for football. I go to the games to watch the Bills. We have a raucous time inside while the game is going on. The tailgate stuff only blew up when the team was horrible during the drought to make the gamedays at least somewhat fun. We dont suck anymore. If I wanted to re-live my college days, I'd go back on alumni weekend. edit to add: We've had GREAT times in Nashville, pre-game, in their bar district. It would be similar. Way less hassle of setting up and breaking down and cleaning up. Show up, party, and let someone else deal with the bs while you get to walk into the game.
  14. Pro: More personal space while in line at the grocery store. Con: Having to scan a QR code to pull up a menu at a restaurant, with no wifi, and their walls blocking my cell signal.
  15. Popping back in this thread after I had a chance to take a deeper dive into the report last night... One thing I want to clarify is the cost difference between OP and Downtown. I see people quoting $1.35B for OP and $2.1B for Downtown and that is not an accurate, apples to apples comparison. Per the report, it would cost $1.35B to build an open air stadium in OP, and about $1.70B to build the same open air stadium downtown. Maybe $1.80B. The report specifies "up to" $2.1B downtown for all the bells and whistles. The same bells and whistles stadium in OP would be about $1.80B. So there really isnt a huge $800M difference between the two sites. It's more like $400M. Plus those infrastructure upgrades downtown need to happen and would benefit everyone beyond just the stadium. Even more reason to go downtown. And then there is this: While I'm not expecting any huge economic impact from the downtown stadium, even the study agrees it would generate something, as opposed to keeping it in OP and generating nothing.
  16. Same. Great opportunity to move downtown a big step forward. Improve the rail system to the area, improve the roads, improve the infrastructure... where is the bad part?
  17. Most of the extra money in the Downtown spec is for building out additional road ways, and infrastructure. If the stadium was already downtown and we were talking about moving it to OP, you'd be saying "For the love of god, Abbott, Southwestern, and the 219 can't handle all that traffic. And a suburb doesnt have the infrastructure needed..." but here we are.
  18. I wouldnt even do the picks. It has to be an immediate impact player who can start and improve a position this year. Just as Trubisky would do for them. Brandon Scherff or no deal. edit: I miiiiiight be convinced for a 1st since they'll be an early pick, but I'd have to really think about it. And I dont think they'd give up a 1st anyways.
  19. It's only an issue if our entire offense drops and we arent winning. But it hasnt and we arent, so... no, not an issue. He doesnt seem to have a problem with it either. So triple no. Considering we run the same play book and scheme, it would make sense.
  20. As usual, spot on. And exactly why I've said we simply dont match up well against the Titans (and to a lesser extent the Steelers in the opener). They are built to take full advantage of our weaknesses.
  21. And really, we usually beat ourselves when it comes to losses. For what it's worth, I'm not "scared" of them, but beating the Titans and Bengals has me feeling a type of way about playing the Jets in a couple weeks. They stink, but play well against good teams, or at least get good teams to play down to their level. We'll see.
  22. My hot take: I'd rather re-sign Oliver than Edmunds. Like mentioned earlier in the thread, Ed has flashed a bunch this year. And has had a couple real solid games, including yesterday. I think he's finally being put in a position to succeed now that Star is back. Definitely picking up his 5th year option and going from there.
  23. It isnt just against us though. They were talking averages across all games. Those guys just get the ball out quick.
