Great point. Dude was hated here for so long, but has proven he definitely wasnt the problem at OBD. He deserves big credit and appreciation, and really some apologies. -

This is a great idea. But would it be a blue blazer with "BEANE" on the back name plate? -

I'm giving Epenesa the leeway I used to give Edmunds (who I no longer have patience for), considering Epenesa's rookie year was 2020 in the height of COVID, with no rookie camps, and remote training camp. I'm putting him on the same timeline as Rousseau/Basham, so I expect to see some progress this year. I think Rousseau has already showed enough for us to feel confident he is on his way. We'll see what these young guys pick up from Miller. -

My point is that the numbers will all be significantly shifting around in the near future. So the graphics and reports and whatnot that show we had no money left, while technically accurate in this moment, will be changing. And it is only internally that Beane has the money earmarked, not that it would show up on any of these reports. -

We already had that available. Remember the cap numbers change significantly once it shifts to only counting the Top-51. We were already expected to have the room to sign rookies earmarked. Any savings from this Diggs deal will likely (hopefully) go to more Free Agent signings. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ -

Nothing is impossible in the world of the NFL. Even if most of us feel it is unlikely, we really dont know what Beane and Co. are thinking in the long term. Trading players is always an option, and worth the discussion in the offseason when we really have nothing else to talk about. I talked about it a few times, but that doesnt mean I wanted or preferred it to happen. Only that it's one possibility, and if it did happen, what would the fallout look like. Especially if dude was going to ask for $30M starting immediately. We just didnt know. -

But people here will tell you that players, even QBs, shouldnt have any say in GM moves and coach hirings. -

LETS GOOOOOOOO -
Sure, but unlikely that any other CB2 we get is as good as Sauce. And CB doesnt have the help to look good like our WRs do with Josh. I'm not even really for this trade, nor do I think the proposed offering is enough to move up to get him, but I wouldnt hate the move. edit: And honestly, if Sauce is even half of what he's hyped to be, he really becomes our CB1, and gives up flexibility with Tre's deal and maybe trading him or letting him go elsewhere when his deal is up.

I hope not. Out Tackles (Dawkins, Brown, and Doyle) are all pretty young. Our C/Gs are all pretty old (outside of Bates). Getting replacements for Saffold and Morse should be top priority when addressing the OL. The Mancz signing is ok, but I dont know that we can/should count on him to step up and take over for Morse.

Yeah, thought it was strange myself, but they probably think they wont have a chance at him?

F*** Them Picks We are in win-now mode. Yes, Beane will always want to build to be a perennial winner, but when you are this close in that building, you take the bigger jumps to ensure you get to the promise land. 1 Super Bowl victory and a couple mediocre years right after is better for McBeane's long term job security than 3 more years of winning the division but losing in the playoffs.

He said something similar about Beasley a couple months ago. 🤷♂️ What he just said is pure GM speak. Of course he would want to see Diggs in Buffalo for years to come. What he didnt say is "at all costs, no matter what he asks for, even to the detriment of building the rest of the team". I do think a new deal will get done next year. But trading him isnt completely impossible or unexpected. It is definitely one of the likely potential outcomes. And as much as we ALL love Diggs, this team revolves around Josh. And will revolve around Josh for at least the next 6-8 years, which is a lot longer than Diggs will be playing in the NFL. So like it or not, there will be a day in the near future where the Josh Allen-lead Bills do not have Diggs. We have our Franchise QB. Rotate/build talent around him in ways that are best for the team. No single WR breaks that approach.

He just needed Mike Jasper blocking for him.

First player I've ever heard talk about doing research on a franchise before he was drafted and then saying "huge fan of Bruce Smith, huge fan of Cornelius Bennett". Most of the guys on our team RIGHT NOW don't know who those players are.
