I mean, if you read the whole article it's clear that's not really the case. They are losing $45M this year due to the increased cost of Aluminum alone. But the aluminum part is interesting. The article mentions how they hedge against the cost so they prepare themselves and the company for stuff exactly like this.... I'm reminded of the beginning of the pandemic, when after years of hearing (from corporate sponsored mouthpieces) that folks not having much money was due to things like "avocado toast" and "buying starbucks", and that people should cut back and focus on savings... but when COVID hit, it turned out that all these companies who rake in BILLIONS of dollars every year had the savings to cover exactly ZERO months of operating costs. They had $0 saved! And were about to all collapse immediately if not for, once again, the taxpayer bailing them out. They still cut those fat bonus checks for the execs tho (thanks to the taxpayers). And now that things are back on track, theyre pulling in even bigger profits, and charging it to us. Funny how the huge, shareholder lead companies are so greedy, but the privately held company started and operated by a guy who came from the bottom (delivering beer/drinks in a truck) knows how to properly run a business, plan for trouble, and also take care of his customers.

Sacrificing the CEO's $25M/year bonus to keep prices flat. But nah. As others have said, I'll ultimately defer to McBeane's expertise since this is an area where they have proven they know what they are doing. But personally, from only watching youtube highlight videos, I havent been as impressed with McDuffie as I'd hoped. I think even Dax Hill looks better/more exciting.

Yep. A bunch of my buds got into the XFL a couple years ago for similar reasons, and initially our fanaticism was just for jokes. But by the end of the year we were all semi-invested and actually cheering for our teams.

Pretty much. Bourbon collecting became the big "dude/dad" thing to do during COVID. Almost everyone I'm reconnecting and hanging out with again talks about their collection. There are private tasting parties going down in just about every cul-de-sac each weekend. In Atlanta (as is all over the country), you can no longer just walk into a liquor store and buy a fancy bottle of bourbon. You better form a rapport with the shop owner/manager, and be in their shopper's club, and be known to buy a lot, and then maybe theyll let you buy the nice bottle they now keep behind the counter. But only one bottle. Oh, and for 2x-3x as much as it was selling a couple years ago. This is why I stick with weed. That all said, there are still plenty of good bourbons at or under $50, and even the snobbiest of new-connoisseurs I know will still happily drink some Knob Creek and Buffalo Trace. It's my personal opinion (cant speak for the actual players) that Beane has enough of a well-established track record of paying guys (Tre White, Milano, Dawkins, Taron Johnson, Siran Neal, Josh Allen, Stefon Diggs, Poyer and Hyde already extended once) that he has the wiggle room to let a guy like Edmunds, and even Poyer, walk and players will chalk it up to the "business", and still believe in Beane's vision for building the team. You have so many guys that already got paid by the Bills, I dont think letting one guy go will undo that. And heck, it could be argued that "All of you who are here who got paid are the reasons why we had to let Edmunds walk".

It is true that the Bills, as a whole, are a pretty tight-knit crew. Very family-like. It is also true that it is inevitable we will end up losing some key players to Free Agency as the years pass. If the team and locker room cannot survive the business side of the game forcing out some beloved players, then we arent mentally strong enough to ever win a Super Bowl. Outside of Josh, no one is safe at an individual level.

Ah, that much I def agree with you on. But when he does manage to go the right way, he still has more than one responsibility to take care of. I try to find as much credit to give him as possible, because it's so easy to bash him and I want to be clear that I DO want to give him a shot and do wish he would be good. But so far, I'm not seeing it.

I'm about as big of an Edmunds "basher" as they come, but the Cover1 guys did a great video that show how much he really is asked to cover. Most of the time, Edmunds has TWO gaps to cover, so he has to wait to see which side of the OLineman the back decides to cut to before he reacts. Otherwise, any halfway decent back will read Edmunds' choice and simply go the other way. If that is the way the scheme works, then anyone we put in MLB will likely still have the same hesitancy. My bigger issue is that when he does finally make the read, and goes to make a tackle, he either gets blocked out or the RB runs right through his arms.

You dont even have to bring Edmunds into this discussion. If a talent like Devin Lloyd somehow manages to fall to our pick at #25, you run that card up and draft him. He would be BY FAR BPA. Worry about what you do with any existing MLB after the fact.
